I am really impressed by the ease of use of the surround view cameras. The clothe fabric on the inside dash and doors make the vehicle look cheap and should be replaced with leatherette which matches the seats. I would also like a full Electronic Instrument Panel. A Full Electric Compass would be Fantastic.

All I can say is I'm a bit disappointed with the acceleration. Just got a brand new Compass. We drove towards the south of Canada, and enjoyed a spring setting, but the open highway had me let down a bit (for the acceleration). But as we were getting home, we were hit with a crazy snow storm, and that made up for the acceleration. I felt that the 2.4 multiair 9 speed, was meant for the harsh snowy condition of Canada. I did get it, for the 4x4 mode because I live in northern Canada, so I am very happy with the winter driving.

Nice looking Compass. The redesign really looks good. The only problem is it needs a different engine like the Pentastar V6 or the 2.0 liter turbo that’s in the new Wrangler and use the 8-speed auto instead of the 9-speed.

Wondering same thing. Interior wise. Compass wins against Cherokee. The V6 is so sweet in the Cherokee. Yeah, 2.0L T would be a rocket. Good review and summary. Thanks, Ben.👍👍😎🇺🇸
@aidensnow50173 жыл бұрын
Cherokee is getting this interior for 2023 model year, I don't see an issue with the 2.4, it compares good with the other vehicles in the sub-compact class minus the turbo version of the Kia seltos, it's on par with the base engine seltos tho. The thing about the Compass is it's so large for a sub-compact it is just barley smaller then the Cherokee itself in only a few metrics, they are extremely close in size inside and out. So alot of people compare it to the Cherokee's competition and dog the engine. It's so big and such a great value for a sub-compact that if they put a more powerful turbo engine in it, it would 100% win over most of the V6 Cherokee shoppers even after the Cherokee get's it's face lift. From what I hear they are bringing the plugin hybrid 4xE powertrain version of the Compass to US in 2023. That put's out alot more power to the wheels (about 235bhp & 250 Nm of torque) and gets much better flue economy so that might be worth waiting for.

I'd take a N/A 177hp over a 2.0T 200hp any day of the week. Turbo cars are just a headache once they get some decent mileage on them. Valves start going and turbos themselves start going. Fine if you only keep your cars 5 years or so tho. Unless it's Volkswagen. Then it's just a headache of taking it to the shop all the time. Costs you nothing cuz it's under warranty but annoying af.

Bought one. Nearly identical specs. Traded in a 2018 Challenger GT AWD (just hit warranty mark of 60k). Nothing wrong with the vehicle, but was SERIOUSLY disappointed by the 2.4 Multiair performance. REALLY doggy. I had bought a 2016 Jeep Renegade with same motor so I should've known better (IIRC - may have been a 2018) - but I only owned that for a month before trading it in - same issue - absolute dog and atrocious MPG. Was hoping that "Stellantis" would've improved the motor but alas - a big nope. Once bitten twice shy apparently wasn't evident till later. And the requisite crappy MPG. I "re-traded" it in for a 2021 Challenger GT Plus AWD less than 3 weeks later. I don't exactly know why - I guess it was a "bang for the buck" disappointment. As stated it - has a lot of amenities, and I really liked the interior, but the "driving feel" was WAY off compared to the 18 Challenger with basically (maybe) a little better MPG but dog slow accel and passing ability. Quite a disappointment unfortunately. I'm really happy to be back in the land barge 2021 Challenger with AWD. This Compass Latitude Lux just didn't "click" with me. But it DID have a lot of tech for the $$. Too bad it was dog slow and raspy.

@aidensnow50173 жыл бұрын
@@jkk2399 It's a sub-compact suv... NOTHING in this class is fast, in fact with 180BHP the compass is near the top of it's class. For example the Kia Seltos' base engine only makes 148 BHP and the 1.6 turbo upgrade for it only puts out 171 BHP. The Chevy Trailblazers top engine peaks at 155 BHP. The Nissan Rogue Sport 152 BHP. If you want a faster sub compact suv, your ONLY option in the entire segment is the Mazda CX-30 with its optional 2.5L Turbo that puts out over 250 BHP, but is more expensive. The base engine for the CX-30 is a 2.5 putting out 185 BHP and is closer in price to the compass. The compass is a really big vehicle for the sub-compact class, and it toes the line of being a compact suv for how much vehicle you get for the money. I feel like that's why people compare it to something like a CX-5 or a Rav 4, compared to those vehicles top engines yeah the 2.4L looks a bit down on power but that's not really its competition.
@jkk23993 жыл бұрын
@@aidensnow5017 apparently you really love it and that's cool. It's aged, it's not particularly fast. It does not do great on fuel either. And the insides is very dated. It gets compared to larger ones because it is not much cheaper at all. It's a great rental SUV I suppose.
@ofcbob63913 жыл бұрын
@Jose Nunez Jose, you have the same 2.4 engine with same 9 speed? I thought it had the 6 speed by Aisin , which is better than the 9 speed they've had problems with.

@@jkk2399 What gripes are kinda dumb though. Why does it need to be "fast"? It's not a sports car, and when are you ever going to be needing to go "fast"? If you want fuel efficiency, don't buy an SUV. Some people don't really care about that. And again, if someone can afford it, why does it matter that it's not that much cheaper than a full size SUV? Sounds like your issue is your budget and not so much this car.
