Well for 2017 it still had the pegs forward but came with a kit to move them back. I didn't. They did that because riders knees were right on the engine...I tried both options and chose the first. In any case it's not like the V7 there's no room to hug the tank with your knees...

re 9:36 ish. On your point of going around 30 MPH town roads, I completely agree. If all I'd ever wanted to do was ride 30 to 40 MPH town roads then my ex CB125R could do them well, and it was nice and light to manually handle, and did over 100 MPG, so no range issues on it, ever . The 60 MPH twisties was why I had to pass my test ( plus take a pillion ).

Thanks for your honest opinions in your test of the Guzzi Bobber , Your test is 3 years old now so I cannot expect a reply , but if you do thank you , because I have a serious question for you , or anyone else who knows ! The Bobber has a twin sister called the Roamer . The Roamer has a skinnier front tyre and a one piece seat , both are things I reckon would suit me better . The question is though ; would I prefer the V7 now that both the V7 and V9 share the 850cc engine .... I assume they have exactly the same tuning and gear set , but I am not sure . I am fairly sure that I want either a Roamer , or the V7 850 Special , not the Stone Special , which has dual clocks . Oh for twin Brembos , but nevermind ! Cheers !

Wobbly on lanes? Hmm, Guzzis aren't wobbly, Pirelli tyres are. Swapping out the Pirelli for Avon AM26 completely solved the tendency to squitter on my V7 II; also considered an upgrade to BT45 on Bonnies. You won't get AM26 for the Bobber but can get Avon Cobra and Road Runner fronts of that size. Shaft jacking? There is a little, the side rock is more noticeable, but unlike the germans who then design an add-on thing to stop it, and another add-on to fix that, the italians simply design it out of the system in the first place. The big blocks use a "CARC" (cardan shaft) drive, the small blocks not.
@motobob5 жыл бұрын
Any bike/tyres would have wobbled on that - I hit a patch of gravel
@jeffslade18925 жыл бұрын
@@motobob - I often hit gravel, can't say they don't slip on that but the Pirelli would light the ABS up regularly where the Avon grip so well we don't see the light. The Brembo asymmetric 4-pot floating disc can lock the wheel were if not for the ABS. But I don't expect to see the ABS operating for normal braking on dry roads. The Pirelli would skip sideways at the slightest provocation. The difference goes from uncertain to sure-footed

That's a "bobber?" Doesn't look much like a bobber to me. Not a bad bike for the price, though.

If a pothole doesn't send searing pain up your spine, it's not a bobber. Lol that's at least what I tell myself every time I ride my Scout Twenty Bobber with it's .00002" of suspension travel.

Jeeze. On that country lane, I found myself staring at the disappearing point with my heart in my mouth! Maybe the go_pro made it look quicker than it was, but it was still an exciting watch.

Haha yeah I think the gopro makes it’s look a bit more rapid

I was considering this bike, but I may get one in the future though.

Hey buddy, great video. I had a Guzzi California 1400 which is a really nice bike. Personally, love the shaft drive. No issue on that Guzzi when you get on the throttle, they've been shafting for decades, so they've got it down. Question, sorry if I missed this in the vid. How was the gas mileage? The Cali much bigger engine, of course, but the gas consumption was noooot goood. How's this one? Thanks!

Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it. I believe the fuel economy is about 55mph and the tank is 4 gallons. Shame it’s not the 5.5 gallons like on the V7, but that shape of tank wouldn’t work on this style of bike I guess

Technically a bobber has no rear suspension and a spring under their rear seat like an old cruiser or roadster bicycle.

this vs v7 which one?

Is the power any different from the V7?

Yes about 8 more hp I believe

@@motobob So in your opinion...is it worth the extra money over the V7?
@motobob5 жыл бұрын
@@shmac96 they're pretty different. the v7 is more of a standard motorcycle, whereas this has a more relaxed cruiser feel. test ride both and go for the one you like!

I live in California. The ONLY thing good about this shit hole state is I can do lane splitting. Every other state filtering is against the law. As for the bike I love it, beautiful. I love Moto Guzzi in general. Not sure which Moto Guzzi I would buy if I had the money. I love this, the Griso and the V7III Racer. But I also have a hankering to get the Audace or MGX-21 to turn all the Harley bagger's heads.

And then there’s the V85TT!

@@1990-t1j Well, I didn't want to get political. I love the weather and the countryside and and there are alot of good patriotic Americans who still live here. I just don't like what's happened to it politically and economically. Our leadership in Sacramento have sold us out in so many ways. For the motorcycle world though it's a great state to live in.

Enjoy all your vlogs have been looking at the v9 Roamer wondering if you’d heard much about this model or are the specs just the same as the bobber?
@motobob5 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! I guess it’s very similar, but the wheel and tyre sizes will make it feel different. Definitely worth test riding if you can, but it can be difficult with Moto Guzzi dealers being relatively sparse

It seems as if this bike has a good bit of character, that's the thing about some bikes, they have no character of their own. Life is too short to ride a boring bike, I'd rather have this ride and deal with the few minor negative things than a plain boring vanilla bike...

you need an external mic for the bike sound mate

I heard they are great bikes for learners but surely they wouldn't beat a V9? Quite a difference in engine displacement.
@raymorris9525 жыл бұрын
@@StateOfMind63 , My brother had a Vulcan s 650, I was smashing Harley's to bits with twice the engine,. And it's quicker than its big bro the Vulcan 800, it's just so much quicker to spin up , because it's a parallel twin not a v, The bigger motor will get you from 70 mph up, but 0 to 60 the little Vulcan is quicker,

All in all, a very cool bike but just not on par with the Street Twin.
