2019 Nissan Kicks Review: Shiny, inexpensive fun

Automakers, just like any other company in the world, want brand loyalty. It’s why Mcdonalds has a playland. You gotta hook em young. The Nissan Kicks is sort of like that. It’s fun, shiny, inexpensive, and you really shouldn’t expect too much from some of the features because, did I mention fun?

I'm 67 and have had my Kicks for 3 months now and love it. Easy for old bones to get in and out of, more than peppy enough for around town and occassional hiway that I do. Great gas mileage. Excellent value for the money!

My husband and I are in our early 60's and are planning to buy this car. I find that there are many in my age category that are interested in what this vehicle offers. I also see a lot of Boomers driving Kia Souls.

What's funny to me is that everyone assumes that it's aimed at young buyers, but I got the 2018 Kicks at age 45 and other people have said, "oh yeah, my dad just bought one!" I have always preferred economy cars and this finally gives me a bit of clearance to go with pretty good mileage. Moreover, despite no wheel drive, it handles pretty well in the rain and snow. Rather than a "crossover SUV", it's just a bigger hatchback car. I've been pleased with mine so far.

I bought mine age 36 and drive this on a blizzard in NY with ZERO issues. Didn't get stuck once

Go Dad!!! He knows what time it is!!! I'm Mom and I just bought a KICKS 2 weeks ago. I have no desire to race anyone. It is so dar so good. No complaints abd I hope it stays that way. By tbe way Everything is damn plastic even your most expensive Irons shower heads computers and on and on and on...

In 2 months I am trading in my 2010 Nissan versa that has over 200k miles on it. Besides regular oil changes only thing I have done is 1 battery, 2 front brake pads an a tail light bulb. I'm 27 an I'm a mechanic. Nissan is a really good brand oh 3 sets of tires

They need to stop saying it's for Millenials and under 35. I am 60 the new 50 DEFINITELY and just purchased the KICKS 2 weeks ago. Nice cute girlie....No financing. Who need the headaches and bill every month Young or Old . This car the KICKS is for Everyone!

This is a nice sized SUV as the Rogue Sport is too wide and bulky for city driving. Two things to improve on. Provide AWD option and have a proper covered center storage/console instead of that cheesy fold out armrest.

This is a pretty bad review. The reviewer comes across as a cranky old man who doesn't understand young people and just wants them off his lawn. Seriously...I'm 42 and there was some truly cringe worthy dialogue in there. Just talk about the car within the context of price versus value and maybe don't project who you think the car is for. Like I said, I'm 42 and I like the looks of this car and the price is appealing.

This is just the right size and height for this vertically challenged old lady with slow moving parts. This will be my next Nissan, I have 2012 Versa sedan that is roomy.

In the US, that's pretty inexpensive for a new car. You can easily spend another $5,000 and still shop among budget cars.

Yeah the thing is cars depreciate quickly, so in 1 or 2 years, that car becomes 9000, that's relatively affordable

A corolla a common mid sized sedan is 15000. A camry is 27000 dollars . For a small SUV kind of vehicle, this is very cheap and is better on gas than the camry.

No need to be a car review snob. This little guy checks all the boxes for good basic transportation. People of all ages will enjoy this car.. just as with the Kia Soul that started out being marketed to the youth market but was adopted by all age groups.

@@Castdeath Because the Altima will be $2000-10000 more than than this car. A loaded Kicks is $2000 less than a base Altima. When you only have about $20,000 to spend, an extra $2,000 is not affordable.
