The mint director is doing his job in raising interest in their products. They had to balance the fact that many of their products lose value from original price. This one was a “special”. There are several reasons why this coin will be valuable. 1. .999 Silver 2. ASE is a popular series for both collectors and stackers. 3. Lowest ASE mintage. 4. 1st time COA were given a number 5. Interest in “signed” COA by mint director. 6. It is simply a beautiful coin! 7. It has now become historic thanks to the hype, fast sellout website issues, the pissed off people, the ecstatic people, happy flippers, happy collectors , and the many Articles and videos like yours! 8. The predecessor low mintage coin the 95w setting the bar. 9. I got one at $71, and my son got 4 at avg $900. They just finished grading at 4 70’s and 1 69. We are holding at least 4 of the 5 long term . You may right short term as coins come back from grading and sellers are looking for quick cash for X mas. Once the flippers are gone and only collectors and investors remain the price will go up again.

But I am ecstatic about all the things you highlighted... Its awesome the mint director is doing creative/out of the box things to get some interest and excitement brewing.... I do think this coin will be pretty comparable to the 1995 W. You’re talking about the price dropping short term. The 95 W wasn’t always as pricey as it now. Give this coin 10-15 years and there will be a huge demand because the market will be dried up. Even $2000 or $3000 is still a very attainable price for collectors that plan on keeping it and never getting rid of it. But for every person that has it there will always be another 50 that would be more than willing to fork over money to get it. And once they are in everyone’s hands that plan on keeping them, if you decided to finally list yours you can set the price anywhere and just sit back and wait for a bite because if that’s 1 of the only ones available, I firmly believe somebody will bite for what you wind up asking for it. Even if it is thousands. My 2 cents..... yes, pun intended✌🏻

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I have to disagree with on the 10-15 years evaluation.... If you studied the 95W(to the point where you understood exactly why the value did what it did) you would see quickly that timeline wasnt a factor, and that it cannot be compared to this coin. There are going to be tens of thousands 2019 ERP Eagles in 70 by the end of the year.... the 95W still only has less than 1000 graded PR70 TOTAL.... But again, thanks for sharing your thoughts... it will be interesting to see where the coin goes...

COINTABLE ChrisTisdale , I will state that I agree with the short term drop. But you mention tens of thousands graded..... there’s only 30k minted to begin with. And every coin you see up for sale has already been opened to check for the signature because they had no intention of keeping it. And that HSN Mike guy certified 1k of them through ANACS without slabbing the cert which is a double whammy. Then you have the every once in a while collector that loves to keep it in the original packaging to display. I really don’t think we’ll be seeing tens of thousands. Especially not with a correlating #’d certificate and coin. In my opinion

Now, with that said, I am beyond confident that there will never ever be a time when these are hard to find, hard to get, or anything other than "readily available" on the market... 30K is just waaaayyyyy to many... A real coin dealer told me once when I was first starting out he said, "There will never be a shortage of rare coins"... Think about that for a minute.... then think about how many 30K really is.... Lowest mintage ever, numbered COA for the first time, low percentage of them being graded....this coin is going to the moon and then going higher. You're just a silver stacker, not a numismatist. It's naïve to compare the 2019-S to the 1995-W based on mintage alone. Low mintages isn't the only factor determining a coin's value. Numismatics is more complex than you think. What do you mean a "low percentage" of them are getting graded? Almost all dealers and flippers are talking about getting this coin graded. The fact that PCGS slabs the COA is another incentive to why almost everybody is grading this coin. The reason why the population of graded examples is currently low is because this coin was just released. I can guarantee by the end of the year, the 2019-S will have much higher population of PR70s than the 1995-W. A numbered COA means nothing. Many mints issue COAs with serial numbers, yet nobody cares. Are we collecting paper now? A signature from the Mint Director means nothing. Before the 2019-S, PCGS had always had slabs signed by Mint directors, Chief engravers, and various celebrities. Yet nobody is paying a premium for those signatures. As Chris said earlier, few people can name the previous mint directors nor even care to know. People say that coins with the "Baltimore show" pedigree will command premiums. Well, that's just a gimmick. This is not the first time that the Mint sold or released coins at a major coin show. This is not the first time that PCGS or NGC issued slabs being pedigreed from a major coin show. In the past, nobody cared that a coin was sold at a coin show. What makes these Baltimore 2019-S so special?

Yes, Chris - I’m in agreement with your analysis. By May-June these will be trading around $500. - maybe even sooner, and for less than that amount. Longer term they should perform well versus other American Silver Eagles, but they will never challenge the 1995-W proof (especially in Proof-70) as the KING of the entire set.

I would rather buy an ounce of gold or platinum or tons of silver bullion since it is low right now than to spend a couple grand just to have that 1 oz coin that is so new and really have no numismatic value. I would argue that the coin is rare. I understand there have been other coins minted in lower numbers and likewise minted in higher volumes. Then net these are lower than typical mintage's. I know. They are not among the rarest ever minted but do enter the low mintage genre. To your second pint. I purchased mine for $70 and will be able to sell it at an undetermined profit, tomorrow, next year or whenever. It would appear the owners of this Eagle are in a smart position, given the return on investment. As a side note here. Know this. The American Silver Eagle is the most collected coin in the world. I agree with you about the fact that 30,000 coins are not rare. I also disagree with you about that same fact in reference to this coin, because 30,000 mintage for a silver eagle is rare. The 95W became rare by accident. It was included in a gold set that most people could not afford to buy. That is what makes the 95W special, (mintage) other than that there's nothing special about the 95W. With this coin having a smaller mintage and a special finish, making it more rare than the 95W and being sold singularly where more regular people can afford to buy it. I also disagree with you about the market being flooded with this coin. With millions of people around the world who want this coin, the market can never be flooded with them, with a 30,000 mintage. You made a great presentation of your opinion and for that I'll be subscribing to your site.

hey thanks for the video i think the values will still hold for another month or two or at least i hope. i got 3 myself on 3 different accounts sent to 3 different address sent them off to pcgs for first strike and am hoping for 70's the reason i say at least a month or two is because i wont get my coins back till around christmas and hope they haven't fallen off by then. i do think they will go down just like the 2018 palladium eagle with a mintage of 15k. i jsut hope they go down after i get mine back from pcgs. if they do drop before i get mine back ill flip them for what i can get and maybe keep the highest grade out of the 3.

this is a reverse proof that the mint made back in NOV 2019. It was a limited edition, they sold out in Minutes, with a mintage of only 30K. the issue price was $75 bucks or so and a couple days later, before they were even shipped they were trading for over $1000 on the secondary market. The 95W has very few high grades Can’t really compare this coin to those. There will probably be 14000 or more 70s. But this coin is still selling high. It’s all about demand. The demand on this coin still high. Raw $1200 to $1600.

Raw one's are where I missed the mark on timing. Guys are still buying those up trying to go for 70's.. plus the sealed boxes are bringing premiums from guys looking for mint director signatures. @@Pilot0582 which if you watch the youtube video, the whole premise was that they were over-valued and that MY OPINION was that they were coming down to half of where they were, or possibly lower. Based on everthing I have seen, that is exactly what has happened. raw were selling for 1400-1600 on Ebay when I uploaded, PCGS PF70's were 3K-2500. and 69's were somewhere under 2K(cant remember exactly). When I look at prices, I am seeing about half of what they were... BUT I WILL HUMBLY ADMIT TO EVERYONE, MY TIMING WAS OFF.... It took a few more weeks than I expected. For the record, I do not believe they have hit their bottom yet. Once they do, I see them very slowly inching lower over time. long time though.. nothing radical like we have seen. thanks for your insight and comments. I appreciate it.

Here I am exactly 1 month later. While we all know that it's common sense they will go down a little bit, I really thought they were going to be down a lot more. But it has holded so well! So your prediction of it been half or less is out of the question because the regular pf70 are still selling from 1900 to 2100 in part because people are keeping the boxes and COA and just selling the coins so they can sell the box and COA for $100 or 300 later on. Now, here is my prediction. By the next 20 days to 30 days everyone would have received all first, early and first releases. Pcgs already graded over 200 non first releases or early (under 30 days) that means that for sure everyone will get their coins by that time frame. What will happen? Well right now there are 938 coins on Ebay for sale. The number on my worst case scenario will go up to 1200s at one point maybe 1300. If it does pf70 may reach 1600s I dont think 1500s. Then the numbers on ebay will dwindle down and prices will start getting higher from there on. Pf70 will be in a couple years all over 3k to 5k cant say for sure. Then Baltimore releases at 8k to 12k (only 400s graded including 69s) then the signed ones will command a lot more. So, obviously cool and low coa# will be higher than regulars but we know that already. Pf69 will be all over 1500 to 2500 depending on the pf70 price on that given time. I been selling the Baltimore releases for 4k to 5k on the past few days. Only a few left.

I think there is way to much money involved already. there are 30k of the same coin... grades separates each other, coa#, 1 to 100 signed, Baltimore show releases... what makes you think a 1995 w was sold for an astounding 80k (labels because it makes it different than the rest) I think those people paying 10k 20k for the signed ones are a good deal.because those are going to be sold for even more later on... dont forget these coins are the first made in the usa with a numbered coa#. 100 to 500 will command more $ and also fancy #s etc.. it's good that the mint did this, it probably raise interest and added new collectors! Prices will probably raise more for the next weeks.. plus Christmas its coming.. it's probably in a lot of Santa's letters right now. I personally would keep a Baltimore releases and low coa#... and I am not even a collector of the series.. so, this frenzy has made me want to keep a couple. I also have a friend who will keep one and he doesnt have another american coin in his collection... if you thought that 30k is enough for all collectors then I hope they get one soon. There at least 1000 people keeping their coin (that weren't collectors because it cost them $80) so they have nothing to lose and its history to them.

Not sure if you are right or wrong...I think that the coin will sell for big bucks until a few days before X-mas where people can still get them as gifts...once that has passed, the holiday cheer will fade away along with the inflated prices of this particular coin...But I don’t think the price will fall below $700. my prediction is that raw coins will sell for $700-$800 and PR69 $750-$950 and PR70 $1200-$1400 once the holidays are over and the hype is dead...still a great ROI for a $70 coin...I think it is pricing in the next ten years right now...so if you think it will go up then you will have to wait at least ten years to see these prices again once the hype wears off...bettter off selling the coin, buying an ounce of gold and the gold price will likely double in 10 years so you will be able to get 2 of them for one ounce of gold in 10 years

This coin will be a new key date. The reason? Because in 2021 there will be a new American Eagle design including security features. The mint will not release anything lower than 30k again in some time. So this is the last design at the limited mintage. Also it's only the 2nd enhanced reverse proof which will be the last with this current design. It will go back down and stay around $1k for a while but in 10 years you can sell this again for $1500+++

I want to see the video when you say "well I was wrong!" The market has been flooded with these since the end of November. This is a low mintage coin in a popular eagle collection. It will be for years. Just like the 1995 w in my opinion. People around the world collect these, not just in the U.S. This is the perfect coin at a slow period in a great eagle series. And remember this. In 2021 these eagles will change in design how much we don't know yet. This coin will heat up the whole eagle series. That said, I do not believe the market has been/ or is being flooded with these coming back from graders yet.... 90% of the guys who I know that have submitted them havent gotten them back yet... So we will see, but once we see, I will be happy to put it out there.... One thing I will say, is that I did not see this madness with the signed COA's coming... Just didnt see it coming at all.... Mintage isn't the only thing that affects value. There's population reports and survival rate that plays a role in a coin's value and rarity. Chris is correct that most dealers and flippers are grading their 2019-S, which would flood the PCGS population reports. In contrast the 1995-W is mostly kept raw, so it's difficult to add a graded example to an online Registry set. Oh wait, you probably have no idea what a Registry set is. You're just a naive sheep. Your video is the only one that offers a reasonable perspective about the 2019-S. I agree, comparing the 2019-S to the 1995-W is like apples and oranges. The demand for the 1995-W is more "organic" than the 2019-S. When the 1995-W was released it didn't receive the hype of the 2019-S. The Internet and eBay weren't a thing in 1995. The 1995-W has lower populations of PR70s than the 2019-S. First, PCGS and NGC weren't grading modern coins in 1995. In addition, most owners of the 1995-W prefer to keep it with the Eagle Anniversary set. So most examples of the 1995-W are raw. Submitting the 1995-W for grading would mean breaking up the Anniversary set. Thus the population of 1995-W in PR70 is artificially low. It's relatively difficult for collectors to acquire a graded 1995-W to add to their online Registry Sets. In contrast, flippers and dealers are grading the 2019-S in mass quantities. Thus it's much easier for collectors to acquire a graded 2019-S compared to the 1995-W. According to PCGS Coinfacts, the 1995-W's auction record is $86,655. Nowadays a 1995-W in PR70 can be had for less than $13,000. The 1995-W gradually depreciated in value because more people submitted them for grading. More coins sent for grading means higher populations in the Registry. The 2019-S will have a lower ceiling than the 1995-W. That's because most were sent for grading upon release. Both the 1995-W and 2019-S are overrated relative to their rarity. Almost all ultra-modern proofs will grade 69 or 70.

Thankfully I am not a fan of modern coins, so I am watching this from the sidelines, and not feeling bad at all; that is for myself. I do feel extremely bad for the thousands of collectors who do collect these coins mainly because of the reasonable price, and were cut out. And I said "collectors"; not dealers, flippers, investors, or speculators. The observation I find most interesting is how blatant, the 'latter group' is about their attempts to cut out, and profit, from the people the mint intended these coins to be sold to. The mint did not want these coins to go to dealers... "Period". They did everything they could to "prevent" that from happening. I don't know how that could be more obvious. But most people in the "coin industry", BTW I think that is a ridiculous term, most of the "Industry" doesn't produce anything, they're basically just middle men who routinely buy coins at low prices from people who often don't know the value, and sell the same item at a much higher price to someone who does actually collect coins. But I digress...Most of the people in the coin industry couldn't care less about ethics or fair play. They brag about getting as many people as they can to buy these items from the mint for them; only to resell at exorbitant prices to the same people they cut out in the first place. And remember who the market consumer for this series of coin typically is. They are not the multi millionaire collectors with deep pockets. In fact, they belong almost exclusively to the lowest economical level of coin collector. But dealers don't care; their job is to "squeeze" as much money as they can from potential buyers. The bottom line I think here is that this 2019 reverse proof "fiasco" is just another example of the fact that dealers are not coin collectors, they're business men, trying to get you the collector, to pay as much money as possible for doing as little as possible. Honest, ethical coin dealers don't last very long... BTW, I did try "unsuccessfully" to get a 2019 reverse proof because the price was reasonable and it would be nice to add to my collection. But after all this, "in my opinion," poor behavior by my fellow coin community members, I now believe that even if I was successful in purchasing an example I would have just given it to the man who commented just below me, JRW3. This man is one of the collectors the mint intended to sell these coins to for 69 bucks and was cut out. And the Man above me, MrMonkeySwag, as usual, is right on point as well.

That said, I think in terms of "mistakes" The mint has made their fair share of them, and this is IMO the least mistakes they have made on a modern release in quite some time.. not to say none were made. HaHaHa.... I cant decide if this is for real or if you are trying to troll..... Did you watch the video? If so, you would have watched and heard me say, "the prices on these will fall drastically from where they are now and then stabilize, so if you have any sell them now and if you want to keep any buy them back after they are several hundred dollars lower than what you sold them for".... WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED... My timing was off by a few weeks, (Ithought it would happen sooner than it did, it took 4 or 5 weeks longer than I thought it would) but my prediction on how low they would fall was basically dead on... Buts it ok, i do not need you to tell me im credible in order to be... whatever I am;)

@@AllEyezOnMeAA If it really is up to over $3K for a PF70DCAM, then wouldnt that be really good for anyone who took my advice, which was to sell at that time, (when 70's were 3K-3500), and then buy them back as the price dropped and stabilized around half of what they were selling for, which to my recollection, I actually said I thought they would settle around half or lower of what they were selling for..... well Feb-June I could have bought as many PF70DCAMS as I wanted for $1400-$1500. Im not sure what has happened in Sep as I have better things to pay attention too... either way, watch the video again, do some research and let me know where your credibility issues are coming from... anyone who bought their coin from the mint and got it graded 70 and took my advice would have made over$5K... anyone who didnt, would have made 2 or 3K.... which is still great... winners all around.
