A little DIY clip of how to remove the front grill on a 2019+ T1 sierra. It differs a bit from a 2014-2018 I found. I took a few clips to help others since I couldn't find any other information about this process online.

@@jonvaldezcars Getting ready to do this this weekend. Approximately how long does it take?
@jonvaldezcars Жыл бұрын
@@suprsquirrel2215 I got it done having no guides in about 5 hours. Knowing what I know now, I'm pretty confident I could swap it over in ~1-2 hours.

It's like YT is reading my mind. I was just thinking about replacing my chrome grill on my 19 Sierra Denali with a black polished version (much like the one you have). Thanks for posting this, now I don't have to take the truck to a body shop to get the swap done.

This was a great help, Several white plastic push clips broke on me and I found GM failed to install 2 more. I also found one of the plastic clips molded into the plastic bumper was already broke from the factory installation....... Much thanks this was a great help!

Glad it helped. I was frustrated when i couldn't find any info to do the swap

Thanks for the video! Helped tremendously. kind of a pain but I got it. One thing to note make sure that the plastic front piece doesn't separate from the black molding behind it. You will see what I mean if you start taking yours apart. I had to glue a couple parts back but it's all good now.

Holy Hell. Thanks for making this. I’ve had my entire front end off my Shelby I think I can tackle this. The question is do I want to

Thank you for posting this man, I have been trying to find this for a few weeks. I've got a 2020 I'm trying to grill swap and I got hung up towards the bottom lol
@DKLabs993 жыл бұрын
Did you do the swap? I just got my grille surround color matched and want to do this myself. I actually have a new grille going in so I’d like to try it myself. My question is the lower tabs in the corners I guess, not the 6 in the lower middle he shows but the ones that are near where the bottom grille curves, are they reachable? Or are you just doing a leap of faith yank on it
@Golem9013 жыл бұрын
@@DKLabs99 I did do the swap it went smooth. No broken tabs and was able to sell the old grill. The ones youre askign about arnt really reachable but they popped out with no issue when i gave a little pulling force. Just really go at it slowly and easy and they should give way. The tabs that actually gave me the most trouble were the lower six just cause my hands arnt small and getting up under the truck to push them up from behind was kind of a pain but doable.

Hi, Me again... When you removed the sides of the fascia near each front fender, are you able to get your hands in behind to raise the locking tabs and if so, is this how it would be removed all the way across? And do you release lock tabs near grille First before you pull outward the 2 pins near the headlights? Thanks for your time, Dave
@jonofmac3 жыл бұрын
I released the tabs on the side of the by the fender flares first but I'm not sure that it is critical to do that first

Lol at how many clips the fender flares has. Wow

Hi, EXCELLENT VIDEO ! I have been looking for just this procedure. Are you able to show the actual clips where the filler snaps into so I know what to look for when dismantling? (around the headlight, etc...) Thanks!
@jonofmac4 жыл бұрын
Sadly, I didn't take any video of it at the time because I wasn't sure how to do it until I had already done it. Just looked through my photos, looks like I did't take any of it specifically. At 2:21, I put my 2 fingers on the piece of trim. That's about EXACTLY where the 2 push pins are. They're the easy ones to pop out, all plastic, pop out with gentle force (I used plastic trim tool to gently pry, but you probably can do it when removing the whole piece, to be honest)

@@jonofmac O.K., Thanks for the info. I have heard of the filler cracking when pulling it outward. Here we go. wish me luck! Thanks again

P.S. When re-assembling, is there any part of the fascia that needs to go on first ( i.e. center of grille or right and left sides of the fascia? Thanks again, Dave
@jonofmac3 жыл бұрын
No particular order on reassembly. Grill has to go on before you can put the lower grill piece on, obviously but other than that, didn't seem to matter which corner
@dennismatthews47483 жыл бұрын
I started with the center then worked my way left and right to ensure it was even before pressing the clips back in plce

Thank for your video. You did show how to, just in a roundabout way. But thanks just the same.
@jonvaldezcars2 жыл бұрын
Yeah at the time there was 0 information on how to remove it online. The trucks were too new and no one had any info, so I kind of had to just wing it and try not to break it. Having done it once before, there's a few places I could save time or skip steps but it is what it is.

The new black Denali grill u installed did u buy that already black and did u have to transfer old parts from ur other grill to it ?

Whay about the air handler shutters that are attached to the grill

@@jonvaldezcars sorry I wasn’t clear. The two white posts at 2:42, I assume are the two push clips mentioned at 2:22. Are they alignment holes or do they have something that needs to be unclicked to remove before pulling straight out.
@jonvaldezcars3 жыл бұрын
@@gr8almty1 Ah. Those are push clips. They do have little holes you push them into, but nothing that has to be disconnected. Those are the ones I mentioned at 2:22. I simply pulled towards the front of the truck and they popped right out.
@gr8almty13 жыл бұрын
@@jonvaldezcars would you say those push clips are the same design as the fender flares? Doing it today
@jonvaldezcars3 жыл бұрын
@@gr8almty1 they're pretty similar. But not the same. The ones on the bumper are easier to pop out I'd say. The fender ones grip a bit harder.
