Got my RAV4, haven’t been able to enjoy it. With this video I was able to find out right away how to unlock all all doors without the key. Makes it a lot easier when I’m carrying my son and other things not to dig in my pockets for the keys or open the door to unlock the back doors. Thanks a lot!

This Toyota is gonna outlast any chevy or Ford or Hyundai etc .See the only problems but at the same time its smart, Toyota does not change what is not broken, their improvements and upgrades takes time. This engine for example might be louder,but its dual port injection and no carbon will build up on your intakes and internal components. It got plenty of power even without any turbos,because it brakes. Toyota know what its doing and,but it takes time with upgrades. This Rav4 has been great so far

One disappointment I have is the lack of an accessory delay. When I turn off the car the audio stops immediately. I know you can select accessory after shutting down but then there's a boot up delay, another delay redetecting the phone etc. I far preferred my other vehicles' accessory delay that would cancel in 10 minutes or when you opened the door. I thought for sure the Rav4 must have a setting for this but so far I cannot find one.

My Toyota came from Japan was shipped to Nebraska somehow. I drove it back to Chicago from the dealership. This 2019 Xle has sunroofs and some options that never ones 2020 and 2021 dont have but no power seats. Different parts of the world have different options on the same car. Good thing is its a Toyota :-)

You can also adjust the bass, treble and front-back fader audio settings and many other things. It's fun to be able to customize your car, for your personal taste. I also changed the door locks to all unlock-or lock, from the default driver's door only setting. You do NOT have to have the engine running, the menus are available after pushing the start button twice.(without touching the brake pedal.)

It is very easy to make dashboard brighter. To the left of the steering wheel knee level, you should see a knob, simply turn it up and your display will be brighter at night.as for apple car,play i do not know because i have android phone. It must,be safety feature..

I have Rav4 hybrid le , I just realized how important is a heated mirrors. I don't have it on my vehicle and it's bad on views in rain or snow. Is there anyway I can change this to heated mirrors?

There is no button for heated mirrors, when you turn on front defroster your mirror should start defrosting. And yes there mirror you can install with defrosting element.

Toyota really need to work on small details better. I am really annoyed how they could not even make illuminated overhead map light buttons. The only way to turn on the rear light on from the passenger side is to set it on door setting.

I am not sure how is your 2017 Rav4 set up, but it is great vehicle. I am sure that you also have some settings like in my Rav4.

The wireless lock when door opened has nothing to do with the internet or unlock capabilities from your phone, etc. If that setting is off, then the vehicle will not allow you to lock it via the fob if any door is left open or even slightly ajar. Instead it will make a steady tone to let you know that a door is not fully closed. If the setting is on, then you will be able to lock the vehicle with no indication that a door isn't fully closed.

On the 2020 and 2021 models, there's an option to enable Android Auto in the General settings tab. What it does is the same as the Apple CarPlay, automatically switch to AA/ACP when you plug an Android or an iPhone, respectively. I think 2019 models can get it through a dealer-serviced firmware update

I had same issue, my preselected favorite contacts keep deleting. Dealer replaced my radio after i made complaint with North America Toyota. At first dealer tried to tell me it was my phone but it wasn’t, i even got new phone. Dealer reset my radio, than did update but nothing worked until they changed my radio.

I just noticed that icon for the headlights and for instance turning on the switch knob for fog lights or off illuminates.... should the auto switch illuminate as well in the indicating on dashboard illuminates and outside head lights turn off amount of seconds too by itself once you go outside ..lock walk away?

Auto switch will not illuminate on dashboard,but when it's in auto and it gets dark your lights will turn on.

Check switch on left side of steering column. There's is position DRL off, auto and on. Also when that switch is in auto position, its gonna turn on when its dark. If nothing works,could be the fuse.

Unfortunately not on this trim level. Not on LE or XLE. The sensors are there but Toyota deactivated those sensors. If you buy Adventure models and hybrid they might have it.

Well you probably forgot to close one of your windows or left headlights on. If it is not make any warning tones,than you are ok.OK. I had same problem when I forgot to close sunroof,it gave me warning din ding sound.

With Toyota if your headlights are off auto the DRL will be off too. That’s why it says DRL off under auto

On my recently bought 2017 RAV4 Hybrid, the "Vehicle" menu is not accesible, it's dimmed down. I've tried with power on an off and standing on one foot and dancing to ABBA songs but nothing lights the damn thing up. My patience with electronics is as long as a smurf's tail so I can only do short sessions dealing with this shit. Love the car, though, drives like an absolute dream.

Some xle models have remote start, but it depends if you have upgraded radio unit or not. My xle does not have remote start because my radio unit is standard not upgraded. You can go to the dealer and they can tell you if you have remote start or not, they can plug in your car to Toyota scan tool.

Owned many Toyotas. This head unit is terrible. The worst I've ever owned. It's cheap looking clunky interface is a joke. And on top of that I've had my vehicle back at the dealer twice to fix a software glitch that causes my head unit to black out for no apparent reason. And no android auto update is an insult to the customer. I'll never buy another another...

should of bought one made in Japan,Toyotas are the best. Never had a glitch with mine, no recalls and no problems. I do agree that they could have done better job, but simplicity always wins.
