@@boyteebah3794 yeah but u get what u pay for with great walls, only 110kw 310nm td and only 2 t towing, I need a vehicle for towing purposes mostly I got 2220kgs to pull and that's not including all the extra stuff I need to carry too (got a track car I need to tow to and from events) I'd need minimum 3 ton capacity, the top 3 I like are ranger triton or Colorado, the triton peaked my interest being there 10-20k cheaper than a ranger and just as good for what I need, the top gls with everything I'd need is only 52k onroad the equivalent ranger is close to 70k lol even the xlt will be 63 and all u get is an extra 14kw 40nms and 400kg towing, an extra 20k for that is a rip off, on the used market yeah I'd go a ranger possibly but they have terrible resale by the looks of it a 2016 ranger is around 17-20k a 2016 triton is still 30-33k .

@anthonyramdin1037
@anthonyramdin1037 5 жыл бұрын
@fukthegoog yeah some countries include mine get the crappy, low spec models. As for the traction control it's actually pretty awesome until wheels leave the ground. It's slow to sense wheel slip and slow in transferring power to wheels that have traction. And often times when it transfers power to the wheels with traction, it's not enough to get out of the situation. And honestly I don't think the triton has the most uncomfortable ride, I think the Hilux will take that honor because the suspension is way more stiff than the Triton's.
@anthonyramdin1037
@anthonyramdin1037 5 жыл бұрын
@Mitch09 the triton has two 4wd systems. One is part time, one is full time. You probably have the part time 4wd system which is the easy select system. The super select 2 is the full time 4wd system.
@anthonyramdin1037
@anthonyramdin1037 5 жыл бұрын
@fukthegoog yeah diff lockers are the way to go. Traction control is only good in certain situations but lockers are great for any situation. Just upsetting that in certain countries these companies offer low spec models without the locker. But if you have an lsd it should get you through any situation.

I own a hilux (2016 sr5) for short rides is fine, but after 30 minutes it starts getting a little uncomfortable but it’s not that bad I’ve done 3 hours on constant and it’s fine for me. Mitchy Paul it didn’t need ten in 2009 to get its 5-star rating, the Ranger PX didn’t have them either and it failed. The PX2 addressed this issue and added them and still scored the same as the Amarok for side impact. What you do t understand is safety is structural integrity and size first and airbags second. You are 1% safer in the Ranger. Good luck to you and your recommendations if you are T-bones at 80kmh because you are in for a rude shock.
@orangejuicepony6881

Further to this neither the Ranger or ANY Ute has ever been tested for rear passenger safety. It is pure speculation to conclude the affect of rear seat passengers. It has never been tested. The only Ute to be tested on rear passsengers is the new X-Class as it came after 2017 when the ANCAP changed its requirements. You can download the reports from their website. Interesting both Amarok and Ranger scored the same on 60kmh side impact.

@bethoughtprovoking 5 жыл бұрын
Jake B, it all depends on the kind of work you do. If you need greater towing or hauling capacity, then you need a more powerful vehicle. That said, these mid-sized pickups are versatile and offer decent performance. The Hilux’s reliability and capability is legendary; speaking with Newsweek, Andrew Exum, a former U.S. Army Ranger and fellow at the Center for a New American Security, said of the Hilux that, “It kicks the hell out of the Humvee.” Qualitatively, the Hilux outperforms anything Ram or Ford can ever produce. But, according to real-world specs, the Hilux is not so little: it can haul a load somewhere in the whereabouts of 2300lbs, and can tow close to 8000 lbs. That easily covers many small businesses needs. Rams, unfortunately, don’t even make the reliability charts; they’re plagued - and always have been - with too many problems. The same goes for the Fords after the year 2000. American truck manufacturers are more interested in making profit by offering blandishments rather than making solid workhorses. You need a reliable heavy-duty truck? Get a Hino. Outperforms anything American by a mile!

I've been in all four trucks before and I have to say, the Amarok is the only ute I properly liked. The Triton is a very good budget ute, but personally, I don't think it fits our needs. The Hilux feels too much like a work ute rather than a comfort ute, but it is definitely a tough ute. The Ranger felt sluggish and poorly-built, also, the reliability of them makes me dislike them. The Amarok takes power, comfort, and quality to a whole new level for a ute, a fabulous thing.

He just conveniently said that Amarok is the only truck with full time 4-wheel drive. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. FYI, the new Triton’s has Super Select 4WD 2, able to operate almost like a premium full-time 4WD. capable of driving in 4H mode even on normal roads - the only pick-up truck in the market with such capability.

Buying a Dual Cab ute is easy. Pick the one that you like to look at because ultimately they are very similar in all departments. They all have plenty of power off road even at 130kw for the hilux (and producing good torque lower in the rev range). If you want a fast car don't buy a dual cab diesel ute as power is great but far from the most important factor. $2500 gets you great after market suspension and another $1500 on some good off-roading rubber and around $1500 for a differential locker and you are done. But ultimately the Hilux is the worst for price, Triton is the best for price.

The real pickup for the family is actually the Nissan NP300 Navara because it has very smooth suspension and a little bit lower chassis also the Mitsubishi triton is good for the family same reason because of the smooth suspension on the other hand if your planing to buy a pickup just to carry heavy loads the hilux is the best because it has bumpy suspension that will become smooth when loaded many items, but the best of all pickup in terms of off road is probably the ford raptor.

The Triton looks the most appealing. Followed by the Hilux. The engine in the Triton is also very refined. It has mivec turbo diesel engine that Mitsubishi tunes very conservatively. It's also very reliable. Volkswagens are only good when they are new. They end up being more unreliable than even Ford in the long run. Vw needs to get their act together. Their newer engines are poorly made. I don't get why he criticized the stitching in the Hilux. It makes the interior look premium. I hope Ford built the engine properly , too much forced induction is not good for an engine In the long run. Having twin turbo with a lower displacement engine than the rest will lead to high maintenance.
