@sykwookiee5 жыл бұрын
@@Tinker.Studio you just might be lucky brudda...when I was a youngin' my mom would bake a cake for new neighbors...when I was 20ish, I did the same...when the 90s rolled through, I was raising my kids to do the same...in the early 2000s, little "wannabe" thugs(juggalos n shit) were tryin' to bring "thuggish assitudes" to the suburbs...when 911 happened, some of the kids(like my son) decided to join the military to protect our country and others in their countries...now, the kids coming up want free everything(not all)...when I moved to N.C. in 2k4, the neighbors on one side were a Vietnam era Army sniper and his wife and o the other side, a young couple with 2 boys and his mama lived behind them in a small cabin...the dad was a decent man who worked his ass off and his wife was a nurse...their boys rode 4 wheelers and used to kick rocks into our yard and after several times of calmly talking to their mother about it(and no stopping of the behaviour), I constructed a 6ft. privacy fence...the dad saw me one day and came over and asked why the fence? I thought he was being a smart ass, and I told him this...it turns out that his wife never told him about the situation...I heard the boys both get their asses tore up and figured that would be the end of it...next day, one of the boys came over to apologize to me and asked what he could do to make amends...I told him that I needed help eating some ice cream cones....he readily agreed that there was entirely too many ice cream cones and that we must devour them post haste...his brother who refused to come apologize because his mother said that they had done nothing wrong, said that he would never apologize no matter how many ice cream cones there were...he ended up living in his parents house(they both died young) and decided that he hadn't been enough of a prick when he was little, and he tried me on as an adult...he would throw rocks at the fence and damage it...one day I was outback running my dog(I'm disabled and I used a wheelchair) and a decent sized rock came flying over the fence really close to me and the pooch...I hollered wth are you throwing f'n rocks for? I'm playing with my dog was his response...I told him to knock it off and thought it was over...he said something really low and I said speak up, your daddy taught you not to be rude...so the little punk threatens to "kick my ass"...I ran my chair to the edge of the fence and told him come closer so that I don't have to crawl after you...he retreated, mumbling about how it's not fair(he's f'n 27), I just smiled and said that I know it wasn't fair to him...in direct contrast was the sniper and his wife on the other side...people whom I met because my son asked who the next door neighbor was and I answered that I didn't know....my wife and I had a small gift shop and we were quite busy day it...my son came home on leave from Iraq and went over, introduced himself and drug the poor guy over to meet me because "we had so much in common"...he came up with the same kind of mom and apologized profusely for being so rude...I said no worries and he was a great friend until he passed last winter...sometimes you can really avoid a pos, as 1/2 of the couple of one side of us, or, if you don't reach out, you could really miss out on someone like the sniper next door, I never felt safer even though my wife and I are trained and armed...hoorah, đã wõõķìëë...

I have a 2014 Tundra, love it and you’ll love yours. I started with a 2006 tacoma and ran it for 150,000 miles with a total repair bill of $972. I traded in 2015 for the Tundra, currently have 93,400 miles and a grand total of $277 worth of repairs. These don’t include maintenance or tire cost just repairs!!! Great vehicles. Love the flatbed and camper!! I run a tow behind. Thanks for showing us this. You made a great choice.

I bought a 2000 4WD Tundra, which was their first year in production, when I lived in Vegas. I owned 40 acres of off-grid, remote land at 5,500 feet in the Cottonwood Mountains that I went to every weekend and holiday. I used the HELL out of this truck, and besides regular maintenance, (including 100K timing belt and water pump replacements), my only real "repair" cost was for replacing a rear leaf spring that I damaged by carrying 1,500 lbs. of CMU block up 1,500 feet of rugged road. I traded it in 15 years later, with over 200,000 miles on it and it still had another good 200K worth of dependable use out of it. I thought about buying a new Tundra, but couldn't bring myself to spend $55,000.

@Rick Smith, I hear what you're saying, but there is a lot of psychology involved when a person makes such a bold move, and it is totally personal. I was raised dirt poor. Like, no shoes in the summertime poor. I have worked extremely hard to proudly proclaim a lower middle class socio economic lifestyle. I know have money in the bank. So, for me, personally, I would have to have indispensable cash, on hand and available, at all times, before I could take a plunge like they have. But hey, I am in absolute awe of folks who can just do it, with little to no money.

Bro cats are nasty. Legit just giant rats. Living in a small space with a cat would be so gross.

Bro 'Poop shovel' is not to shove up Poop. Its to dig the dirt so you can poop. XD

I really wish that the sourpusses here would read this comment, they might understand that life is different for all of us, so we should live according to their experiences and desires...

I'd be happy just having the brand new, top of the line Tundra, let alone a custom camper on top of it.

She says they get around 10 mpg in this rig. A big diesel rig with bigger a bigger camper seems to run in that same economic range after figuring fuel cost. This makes us actually lean towards a larger rig that is more easily separated from the camper for day trips. Thanks for the perspective!

Congrats Owen and Mak. I haven't seen you in ages, Owen, but I remember when you started your journey with that VW back here ages ago and how far you've come! Will continue to watch and see how you two are coming along. Are you still doing MoGraph work and how does that work living in the middle of nowhere without a killer internet connection? Looking forward to seeing more amigo!
