I would say test drive first because it's quite an old car to test the smoothness, engine power, suspension feel, and if any weird noises. This is based on the ownerv's description :This car is kinda fuel consuming coz 2.0naturally aspirated and with cvt but it's comfortable. Gear box is still nice, coz when N n D, it feels almost the same.. Basically i believe reliability wise it's not too bad but i think fuel consumption would generally be higher because of its age

@@78arip hi.. when you test drive it, try to notice if any unusual jerks when accelerating gradually and also when you let off the accelerator, this sylphy has a cvt so it should be pretty smooth. Then when you accelerate did you feel any slipping of gears before the car moves, it's very obvious if it does have gearbox slip and also delayed response in pickup. Also try to feel if any unusual vibrations when you're in D but stopped, if a cvt has problems you can feel pretty worrying vibrations just by putting the car in D but not moving (it's a different vibration from gearbox mounting problem). Also check for any coloured oil leaks after moving the car from its parking spot and take note of the colour of the leak if there are any. Lastly, try to check if the cvt was regularly maintained i.e. changing of cvt transmission oil.
