650ib, I'm posting from the UK. I'm now 65 yrs of age and have been riding motorcycles since I was about 13 and still do (BMW K1200RS and Hayabusa). I love sportbikes, they are the pinnacle of technology, however, I also came from a time when we did not have all the technology available today and to be honest I'm not really interested in it apart from maybe ABS. The point of my waffle is, sportbikes are great but they are too focused a lot of the time, I'll wager that 90% of sportbike riders would be more than happy on something like the bike you are riding now. Plenty of performance for the road with comfort so you can enjoy the ride in a different sort of way. Relaxed, comfortable but still with spirit when required. Great video's, keep it up and take care.

Tracer is a very good bike even for your next Alaska ride(stay on the Tarmac). Just completed Florida to Alaska and back, 12200 miles. Absolutely brilliant bike when shoe'd with MR5. Achilles heel? Cheap stock chain, useless stock tires.

WOW!!! What a beautifull country you live in!! And what great roads to ride with the Tracer 900 GT! Got the same bike now for a week and I love it!! I noticed that the indicator lights on the Tracer 900 GT has orange light covers and not a clear cover with a orange light bulb inside. Mine has clear indicator covers with a orange light bulb. Different for the European market.

The tracer is a great bike. Its practical , its fun and you shouldnt loose your license on it. Its a really happy medium between a sport bike and an adventure bike. Also they are bullet proof reliable

Love this bike. I want one. I've been a Triumph guy my whole life. In the last 5 years Triumph dealers have been disappearing though. So what better to get the linear band of a Triumph triple and the availability reliability and value of a Japanese bike. You get the quick shift and all the electronic goodies for around 5k less than the 900 Explorer. Awesome. Love Yamaha

I have the 2015 tracer and had a test ride on the GT. what a difference, seemed like a whole knew model. Suspension is way better, tips in better, felt lighter and smaller but I know it’s neither. I might be getting one!

Won't be having another GS they've gone very expensive, this machine looks like a good contender I tour Europe. AFT1000 would be up there but the tubed wheels and no cruise is the a deal cruncher for me. I'll have to get down the shop and try one!

Got my 15 Fj09 for a bit more than half the msrp on this one, it was a no miles demo that I was lucky to find. It doesn’t have a lot of the good toys the new ones have but to install a top case, quick shifter, oem slipper clutch etc I still spent less than what you’d spend on a new one. Just keep looking small dealers are the best for this type of thing.

I don’t want to go around building it. There are some suspension, fueling and handling upgrades to this bike. I like the package. The way it comes. I agree it may be more expensive not sure . One may try to figure out the cost to duplicate it and in most cases from my experience it wasn’t much savings. I will wait on a purchase because the only color available the black one I hate. I like that matte blue looking one.

The signal switch is hard to find while wearing gloves - the seat is hard and uncomfortable after one hour - you need to use premium high octane gasoline Otherwise a great motorcycle.

Hey Ib - great video & content diversity from you. Unfortunately, I had to quit half way through because of a stuttering motion from the video. Not sure if it was a post processing issue or something else, but it was a bit tough to watch, so I thought I'd mention it here. Even the scene where you walked over to the bikes and showed the model with the black wheels had the stutter effect. I look forward to your next video. They're both great bikes but the Tracer is better for long distance travel and scenic touring. The MT-10 is better suited for urban cruising, smackdowns and spirited riding.

Did you experience any front wobble at cruising speeds of ~80mph? My friend drives an 2017 Tracer and that thing wobbles on the freeway, the dealer told him that was a known issue. He got a 2018/19 Tracer as a loaner a couple of weeks ago that should have better suspension but he experienced the same issue on that bike. The dealer advised him to replace the front and rear springs for upgraded ones and that solved the issue, so buyer beware ;) But this GT model had adjustable "upgraded" suspension so i was wondering if you also noticed that ?

John - Actually the chain tensioner hash marks were misaligned and if you centered the rear wheel or otherwise align properly with the front, the high speed wobble disappears. My 2016 never experienced said wobble.
