Thanks for the informative video, Oleg. Question: can I run my simple (all Unifi) home network ==> Advanced USG --> 8-port UPOE managed switch --> UAP Pro ... without the the cloud key? I understand my switch is managed so I can access it via web interface over the network, then 'join' the AP to it, and maybe in the future, another AP Pro for the total of two APs

Yes, you can. You will still need to install UNIFI controller to see UNIFI hardware you have and be able to manage it. I was running w/o key and even w/o USG for some time on EdgeRouter Lite ;). but still had to run UNIFI controller on my Mac before switching to the key. if you have a PC which is on UPS and runs all the time, just install UNIFI controller on it and that will do it.

So the Controller app must be run 24/7? I can not just shut that PC down for the night, i.e. the devices will not run in harmony according to Controller app's pre-determined settings?

derek d you can. But it will not monitor or automatically roam your wifi clients between the APs if controller is not up. All other functions will work.
