I test drove the Alpina B7 last week during Monterey Car Week, and I thought it was a fantastic car, and the massage seats and vitalize mode was just so nice combined with the quilted leather and the looks and the speed. So that’s my favorite version of this 7 series. It made me think, why bother with a Rolls Royce... this is half the price and just as nice.

Gooseman2k2 true. But the Jaguar does not strike me anymore, it has aged now. Jaguar design boss laughs at BMW last year saying their new XJ will be huge design leap. So we wait for that. On the flip side, editorials say Jaguar Land Rover group are facing billions of dollars in debt so the future of the group is a bit indeterminate at the moment.

​@@Leszlig Perhaps. While these cars have always been status symbols, it used to be you bought a BMW because it was a high quality sedan with a pulse. My take is the largest consumers of these high-end vehicles are now buying BMWs for the prestige of the brand name first, actual design, performance and driving experience are not as important. That's why I believe we're seeing all these scaled up defining characteristics, logos, fake M cars, fake AMGS, interior light shows, self-defeating touchscreen tech, etc, etc. It is a cultural difference between European/US demands versus the demands primarily of China which are dictating the new language of BMW.

Not sure if they’re messing around or not but they’re not waiting long enough after saying “Hey BMW” before saying what they want the car to do. It tells you on the screen when to say your command after saying “Hey BMW”. If you wait until it tells you to speak it works fine.

@Rata 4U yup. And actually to be specific it is because of high-income earners who lease their cars for around 3 years. The ultra wealthy actually got that way because they buy slightly used. And they actually buy instead of leasing My dad always buys used except for his S classes. After seeing the depreciation he will be getting his next car used.
