Just exchanged my '10 T&C for a '20 Pacifica, both in the Limited Trim. I just wanted a new one. The '10 cost me ~ $1,300 in repairs over its life. (Both front bearing packs and the rear A/C expansion valve.) The people-mover aspect seems to be what most advertising is geared towards, including this review. But here is what I will tell ya: if you haul lots of gear, and my hobbies require this, once you have a vehicle with Stow-N-Go second and third row seats, it will be almost impossible to envision not having this option. FCA should do more to emphasize this aspect. Any mini can haul people, but only the FCA can haul gear so easily.

The cool to your steering wheel trim was quite popular in the 80's..such as in my old 1984 Cadillac Deville, the Olds Cutlass had it, many Park Avenue's did as well..I had a Dodge Grand Caravan with the StowNGo seating..I LOVED it! I hauled a sectional sofa, fridges stoves everything in that van! How versatile! More versatile than a 54 yaer old gay male on poppers!! haha The best feature I think all car makers should do is the EVIC system that tells you the volts, oil pressure AND oil temp, trans temp and many other informative stats..tire pressure to each tire too! If you were to tow a small trailer as it is rated for 3500lbs it would be good to monitor your tranny temp too..and not the tranny in your back seat but the one bolted to your engine!

I have a '17 Pacifica that I bought new for a contractor driving business. I haul auto parts and drive to remote rural areas. I have 420,000 miles (okay, actually 419,500ish but by the time you read this...). I had no repairs until the quarter million mile mark which initiated with the wheel bearings. I did spend about 7k between 3-400k miles, half of that on various sensor replacements which can only be done at the dealer. Ambient temp sensor which is needed for engine cooling, ABS sensor (these may have been related to the two heavy front end crashes (one from a deer one from a boy with a car fully of hotties not paying attention)... Camshaft position sensor/phaser was the worse at over a grand dealer and another 800 after having indep shops diagnose and replace (twice) just the sensor and not the phaser and having it solve the problem only temporarily. BTW the cause was likely my 10-15k oil change intervals. Now I do 5k! But having an engine and transmission last over 400k is nice. It did start hard shifting (occasionally slamming really hard into second gear) early on at 187k but so far it hasn't gotten considerably worse. At 100k I asked around about changing the trans oil. Dealer said it is lifetime and wouldn't change it and a couple mom and pop shops were confused at how to do it. At ~130, I started to hear a whining sound just before upshifting. I cringed and called around some more and finally found an independent shop that was competent and had the oil changed and the problem went away. I now change every 50k! The only complaint going forward is that the new ones don't offer a base LX trim. I paid 23,500 for mine three and a half years ago but would now have to cough up at least 30 for a replacement. I added the hitch for under $300 and a kayak roof rack for about 300 and what more do you need? I will probably buy a used 17-18 LX with 40k miles for half the price of a new one when I finally total this one on the next "Oh, deer!" Okay, that's enough FYI, David.

I have a 2017 Pacifica, and it has been a great vehicle. The chrome insert you liked in your review is really stupid. In the winter when you turn on the heated steering wheel, that chrome insert stays freezing cold. Takes forever to warm up. Odiously of no benefit, except eye appeal in the showroom. Also, the HID headlights are $250 each to have the dealer install. I did it myself, but next time will pay the dealer. Is a real pain to change yourself.

Any chance you played around with the quality/accuracy of the lane keep assist (you noted it had three settings). I recently drove some Hyundai / Kia and Subaru models and was so impressed that I could put on adaptive cruise and the vehicle would remain in the CENTER of the lane (not ping ponging side to side) even on curves! Will the Pacifica do this? It this feature speed limited, also will it work in stop and go driving?
@Refugeefromcalif4 жыл бұрын
As a 2017 Pacifica Limited owner since Sept. 2016, I can tell you that the lane keep assist is the Ping Pong type. It's more an active warning that you've reached the lane line and won't steer for you. Also, It's only active after you reach 35 mph. Hope this helps. Edit: That said, I do prefer it over the 2012 Grand Caravan R/T that I traded in for it.
