This was not the honest review. To say that new suspension system is not comfortable enough and that golf is more comfortable is a just a big lie and shame for What Car! Cactus is not a perfect car,but in his segment and even above is the one that is most comfortable and that is his strength and selling point. Not everybody want stiff and sporty cars!

I agree completely, I already booked my C4 Cactus and I can't wait to get it. The review is quite out of context because the given model doesn't have the advanced comfort seats and obviously it doesn't have the new suspension system. If it had then she would be comparing it with Rolls Royce and not with Golf or other car. Maybe the interior is strange but it has it's own story story. My current car is C5 Exclusive and I know what a good ride is. The suspension of the C4 Cactus is very close to the famous hydroactive of the C5. In fact, the difference is barely noticeable.

makisce they do have he new suspension, standard on all c4cactus. I have a DS5 SPORT (2017) and I test drove a cactus a few days ago and it’s a very comfortable car. I do think it’s my next one, in a couple of years when it’s time to change.

I'm waiting for my new cactus to arrive in the next 2 weeks. Since I drive a lot and I needed a family car so it's perfect for that. The comfort that I get for that price can't be compared.

Yes, I agree. In this video, What Car have let themselves down with a totally biased review. The new suspension and extra sound-proofing have made the new C4 Cactus a class leader for comfort and relaxed driving, desirable for all but the boy racers.

The EAT6 automatic version is brilliant. I should know as I own one! Quick, smooth shifts and since it is a torque converter unit made by AISIN it is a lot more dependable than the DSGs by volkswagen.

I have a C4 Cactus auto, fantastic car lovely to drive and very very comfortable. Well in my opinion at least. On the down side the touch screen means if you need to change the heating and your driving you have to look away from the road or pull over.

And the new suspension setup is garbage. It's made to fool people who know nothing about cars and make them believe it's more comfortable than it actually is. It's ok on low speeds and over big bumps, and when you drive it smoothly and slowly it gives you a fake sensation of being more comfortable than it is because the body of the car moves slowly and floats a bit, but as soon as you start driving it over 6/10 on some corners or broken pavement, it starts to fall apart. When you drive it quickly over some broken pavement, it becomes blatantly obvious the suspension components lack rigidity and the whole body of the car lacks rigidity, it starts to crash and the chassis resonates too much, and doesn't soak up smaller bumps properly. On top of that it rolls in corners and during braking and accelerating it's too soft. The rear becomes nervous above 110-120 km/h in the corners where rivals like Astra or Golf feel like they're on rails. Now I know not everyone is a mechanical engineer and will be able to tell that, but to me it's clear as a day that the suspension of the C4 is NOT as good as on other hatchbacks, and it just uses very soft springs and dampers with those hydraulic stops to compensate for it and give people a fake sense of comfort. VERY SOFT suspension doesn't mean it's better. Anyone can make soft suspension that works when driving slowly and then falls apart when driving quickly. It works on low speeds, but as soon as you drive faster than slowly, it shows the faults it has. It's a car made for slow city driving and cruising. A good suspension starts to work better the harder you drive it. Other cars have suspension developed to work all the way to 9/10 or even 10/10 in some cars, and some cars have suspension so good it even works very well and predictably BEYOND the limits of grip, like in the BMW's for example or the new Alfa's, cars which feel natural with all stability systems off. I'd never feel comfortable driving the C4 hard with ESP off, because even with ESP on and NOT really being driven to limits, it felt unstable, boaty, floaty and just uneasy on the same roads where I travel every single day in other cars that take them at higher speeds without braking a swear. That's how you develop proper suspension, to make it work EVERYWHERE and IN ALL conditions, not just at low speed during smooth relaxed cruising like Citroen did, to work when you drive slowly and to suck when you drive quickly. When you drive a Golf hard over broken pavement, it doesn't fall apart, in fact the harder you drive the better it feels. It feels like it's punching the pavement and at not a single moment does it feel like it's lacking rigidity or starts to crash around. Same is true for the new Astra and the Focus.

Nor am I. The Cactus is likely to be cheaper and certainly quirkier than either of the VW stablemates, and it has no sporting pretensions, so there's no point reviewing it as if it should. It'll probably be easier to park and more able to withstand parking dings than either of them.

Well you can have different tastes and buy something inferior just for the sake of being different, nobody is preventing you. It's a funny psychological phenomenon that people show, they hate on good cars just because they're popular and people buy them a lot. It's a fact that VAG makes the best car in pretty much every segment they compete in. The Golf is without a doubt the best hatchback overall with by far the most qualities and feels more mature and like a car from a class above, more than any other car in the segment. Same is true for the Octavia which doesn't have a rival. Not to mention the Polo, or would you rather buy something that feels like a childs toy when you sit in it just so it won't be a VAG car. There's already people who know something about products they're buying, and they buy the best they can for their money, objectively speaking, and then there's those who don't know what to look at or can't appreciate qualities that actually matter and can't recognize properly engineered, designed, developed and manufactured products, so they buy inferior things for irrelevant subjective reasons.

Driving this car for a couple of weeks now, making a very long distance journey in between fully loaded. Diesel, entry level specs. Overall, great economy and comfort in city and highways. Easy to do a lot of miles at average speed. Practical, especially the big box in in front. Not a rev counter,,,,it is though very very soft suspension setting,, it bends very much at corners and can not handle even medium bumps at medium. In case of an emergency, the car is not respond8ng as expected. Take it slow...Not a premium feeling either. Honest car but....

lol comparing it to a VW Golf and an Octavia, an Octavia is a large family saloon or estate car! Cactus us a cheap end lightweight modern day 2CV if you like, hence the weight saving rear windows and non sliding rear seat. And to VW which is a terrible comparison and I'd rather walk than drive a German car, I don't like this review because of the terms "scratchy plastic" being used, there's nothing wrong with the Cactus interior at all, it is very refined. Also on the point of slow sales for the first shape of Cactus,yes because for some reason Citroen stopped driving instructors having them and mobility having them and then they started charging £750 extra for Platinum Grey when Shark Grey had been the most popular choice, like they were committing sales suicide!
