EVERY F*cking review i've saw about the new e-C4 is complaining about the rear view spoiler... NONE of the reviewers ever drove the car in the night to see that the spoiler ACTUALLY HELPS and it's so well positioned that the headlights from the car behind are actually MASKED by the spoiler. So Thank you Citroen, nice HIDDEN feature!

The cars have those electro-chromatic interior rear-view mirrors like my Peugeot, which works perfectly well at night and let's face it, any car that's following with its headlights on main beam has to be in a pretty precise position to allow the spoiler to obstruct the light!

That would never work because the height of the head beams of the car behind you will always vary ie if you are going up a hill or if they are close or far. Nowadays rear view mirrors have anti dazzle screens

I've recently purchased this car in the Shine trim. Absolutely fell in love with it. Super comfortable and glides over most road imperfections, and the 1.2L engine that at first might seem extremely weak for such a big car, is actually quite powerful (except when in the ECO driving mode). Only downside is that the steering is extremely light and feels completely disconnected from the tyres themselves, but you get used to it overtime. Also the car is exceptionally good looking and sweeps tons of lovely compliments. Highly recommended.

I drove the C4 in Portugal for 21 days in 2019 and it was a very good experience. This was my first time driving a Citroen and I felt very safe and comfortable in it.

I can't agree more, this is the most unfairly critical assessment of the rear legroom and headroom. I feel that most of the UK-based reviews seem to attack French cars in particular. AT least, most cars from Citroen, Peugeot, and Renault are different and certainly leading the design ethos and yet the quality has improved immensely. if you are to review any car then you need to be honest and stop being childish. Go to those that dare to think differently and keep inspiring the auto market with beautiful design and function. Yes, I still drive my Citroen C6 and the comfort is out of this World.

What are you expecting? - What Car, Autocar and so many others are just obsessed with German cars and, here being no exception, examine everything from the point-of-view of "why it isn't as good as the VAG or BMW". BMW could introduce a car that spontaneously combusted and they'd be "the heating system is out-of-this world - no other manufacture comes close!!". Citroen could introduce a flipping flying saucer and they'd be "it reminds us of the Jetsons and people will laugh at you if you buy one to fly over the traffic jams of burning BMWs...."

I bought my Diesel 307SW, new, in 2007 and the only bugbear I have with it, is that typical French problem of a tiny glovebox because of their refusal to re-locate the fuse box to the RHD driver's side. However, it is getting a bit long in the tooth now, so at the end of the year (2022), I shall be looking to replace it with the C4.

i just bought my citroen c4 as i had a renault capture but loved the design and comfort of the c4. i have had it two weeks and have found it to be very good to drive and very easy to manouvre etc it has so much extra for your money and compared to the captur it is a huge upgrade. i find it very safe to drive and am very pleased with my purchase.

Taking delivery of the electric version in the morning. Top spec and metallic red. Great looking externally but a bit quirky on the inside but the test drive was relaxed and comfortable. I always make a point of getting in the back to get a handle on how the passengers feel. No worries there. Boot size us adequate and easy to load with the flat floor. A far better cahivke than the out if date leaf. If Stellantis would stick a 60kWh battery in their range, at their price points they would steal loads of customers.

195/60 R18 is not a sensible size, it's a rare size. But you can put 215/55 R18 on those wheels.

I've had one as a courtesy car whilst my new 308 phev is in for a fault. For the price it is a very decent car. The 1.2 130bhp is very peppy. Its pretty silent in that cabin too at motorway speeds. Negatives! None really any. The spoiler on the back window is a bit annoying, but, overall its a really decent effort

Have one of these in Scotland, suspension is simply superb on rough potholed undulating roads, great steering brakes and clutch. And a functional attractive exterior and interior. A bit heavy on fuel (petrol) but the saving on cost outweighs it. Unbelievable value.

I am a happy owner of this beautufull car since April 2021 with 11000 km till today. BUT there are two big "BUTS". 1.Aerodynamics noices over 120km/h, like a litlle open front window (I couldn't belive it when I first heard it)!!! 2.When the car runs downhill with sicains another noice comes from the front (like CRAK-CRAK). It happens when turns from corner to corner after braking. Unbelievable issues for such a brand new car !!! I am not so happy anymore.....

Just been for a test drive and loved it super super comfy and loved the styling but one major issue though. The seat recline knob is very stiff and very smooth making gripping and adjustment hard at best. It is also situated in such a position as to make it almost impossible to alter the recline whilest seated. We had to get out of the car and crouch down to adjust the seat which still proved difficult. Also the interior lacked quality and that is comparing it to an mg5 not a class leader. The seat issue was a deal breaker for us but I can still see the appeal of the C4.

I´ve driven the new C4 Diesel for more than 6000 KM. The fuel economy is absolutely fantastic, and the cruise control is more advanced than I´ve expected, the full options version is fantastic. However, the car is not stable in corners as the wheels are tiny and not large enough to make this small SUV stable. Also the spoiler reduces a lot the rear visibility. Trunk also is not that much big.

I think the two are comparable. Well, I compared them anyway. The Peugeot is harder sprung, has a bigger boot, a slightly smaller back seat and boxier design. The Citroen is more comfortable, the Peugeot is sportier. What one prefer is matter of taste.

@@kinnonmcallister No, it doesn't need a wiper. The design shape of the rear end is extremely clever, with a 'scooped out' kind of shape which throws water and muck backwards. We've had ours for two months, and no problem whatever with the usual mud covered backend of a hatchback; it looks just as clean as the rest of the car.

I hate some of these reviewers when they nit pick at problems that aren't there, That car had plenty of legroom and then forcing himself so his head hit the roof. I also hate it when they mention scratchy plastic in the footwell area,if you have dirty shoes it's easier to wipe off you wouldn't want expensive materials.

Greetings from Finland. I bought the 2016 c4 intensive (mid-level trim) automatic with 130hp puretech. It's a Very likeable hatchback but, there's a problem that one should consider in winter conditions in the far north or snow in general. Even with the best Nokian studded tyres Track anti-slip doesn't get a grip on snow-packed (pressed from snow tractors) roads. The Track light blinks, auto transmission grinds & I can't move! I've learned to live with it easing ever so slowly forward gaining momentum but cars behind really must wonder what's wrong. It's the same in ❄ ice mode. It might've been a deal breaker if I had tested c4 outside of town. -Cheers & Happy New Year 2022.

you should write to Citroen Australia and complain - otherwise the common distributor for Peugeot and Citroen in Australia is going to continue to poorly specify their offering and then wonder why they continue to have such bad sales records, despite both these companies offering better automobiles than many other brands on the market. Also, Australians seem to have a thing against French cars - prejudice that hasn't been updated in recent years... A great example is that Peugeot Australia never specified the new 508 with the infrared camera to detect animals in front of the car - if any country in the world could benefit from infrared animal detection cameras for country driving from dusk onwards, it is Australia. Such cameras are common now in German cars. Something really hopeless about the Australia distributors of a number of car brands - Honda is another one - and they have no idea how to stragically market and shift the perception of French cars in Australia to the current reality of what is being manufactured. Also, have you noticed how bad Australian auto journalists are? Probably why you have to come to channels like this!

I really like this, and it's big brother the C5X. Although the petrol versions are quite reasonably priced, it does get expensive if you want a hybrid.

I have a Fiat 500L 13 plate and put my iPad on the dash vents and it better then the new cars today and I use Bluetooth for the apps simple and easy. So don’t waste your money on these expensive cars

I recently bought one in the shine plus spec 1.6 diesel auto. The one thing I think it’s totally rubbish, is the media system the sat nav screen is difficult to see and Tom Tom is a rubbish platform. You can’t hardly see what your typing in.

Unfortunately, the Euro NCAP standards have just been changed - they're reviewed every six years but this car was designed to the 2016 standard along with a good many others.

Test drove today. Sluggish, Awkward drive mode selectors, poor range, HUD display non existent in higher driver position, loads of body roll. 6/10. Avoid!

The HUD is the cheap pop up version isn't it..They are never gonna work as well as a proper HUD.

You CANNOT compare this to a proper SUV! For a start. Any make of SUV will be 5 to 10k more than this top end spec. If the seat position is higher than a BMW X2 then that's good enough for me. This car is not aimed at your age demographic. It's more aimed at older Adults because the seats and suspension are second to none. The 1.2 petrol 155 bhp can do 0 to 60 in 8.5 seconds, so the speed is there if you need it. Only downside is the masses of plastic trim. In my opinion.
