2020 Diavel 1260 S First Ride & Review!!!

I gotta say this is one of the best all around, most fun bikes I've ever ridden. Ducati knocked it out of the park with this one. If you have a chance to ride the new 2020 Diavel 1260 S, I highly suggest you do. This is on my list for my next personal bike for sure. You nailed it; this bike is for someone who can can only have one bike but wants three. I have the first gen Diavel which had the heart and brakes of a super bike. The absolute best part about the Diavel is that you can go full throttle without worrying about it rolling backwards...the front comes up and goes back down smoothly without you having to cut power. I am yet to lose a 0-100 on my bike. Love, love, love the Diavel.

Amen! A very carefully prepped V-max 1700 with a really good rider will pose a major challenge, but otherwise... and even at the track: side-by-side with a sports bike, the Diavel does surprisingly well, it only suffers under its own weight and lack of aerodynamics for the rider, but purely on power... that 1198 engine is immensely strong!

5 years ago I though I was finished buying motorcycles, Having a Ducati St2 and a modded 749s!! I thought the Diavel was pointless and didn’t get it, or very much like it.(FatMonster). I was talked into taking one out, while my bikes were in service!😳🤯 A year later a Diavel Carbon Red replaced my St2, and retired my 749 to the track! (I still have all the pieces) Once you get one, it ruins the experience of every other bike, except maybe a duel-sport, no off-road capacity! I’ve had no urge to get another superbike.... until the PanigaleV4 & BMW S-1000!! I’ll probably get one used and keep my Diavel also!🤔🤷‍♂️ Happy New Year!

I put my wife on my 2015 version the one time I had to go 2 1/2 hrs by hwy and she is a beginner. She did great and loved the bike almost as much as I did even though she was only in urban mode. If you think the bike is that good and I felt that way from the predecessor, I definitely am going to get one. The look to me is so much cleaner and what you said about the foot pegs is the same issue I had on my 2015 but still loved it. Mine did have a false neutral issue that Ducati fixed for me and after that it was great. You definitely made my mind up!

Jaret, good video. I've had my 2020 1260 S for about 2 months now (think I got one of the first 2020 models in So Cal) and I absolutely love it. Definitely a lot more fun in sport mode, as I like the torque and throttle response much more than in the other 2 modes. The width of the rear tire is super sick, too. This thing rides as sexy as it looks. Only (obvious, I guess) complaint, if you wanna call it that, is that the stock exhaust is WAY too quiet and lame--thank you, State of CA. Once that's changed out with the Termignoni exhaust available for this bike (full titanium system coming soon), it'll be an amazingly beautiful machine. Seating position couldn't be more comfortable, either. Maybe I'll post a vid of my bike soon--I have the grey/silver color scheme. Anyway, hope some of my 2-month riding time comments are helpful to your viewers. Highly recommend this bike to anyone wanting comfort, power and definitely good looks! Enjoy, folks.

I’m considering this Diavel 1260S. I also like the Harley Sport Glide, the Fat Bob 114 and the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster. But I think the Diavel 1260S is my new top choice. Is this bike reliable? Have you had to do any repairs and has anything failed on this bike?

The weight of the bike helps it on the highway a lot. You don't get thrown around on it. It doesn't shimmy around on bridge gaps and new asphalt patch crossings. I like to call it a full bike. 😁

Hey Jaret You are in a unique position to give a little more info comparing the XDiavelS and the new Diavel. 1. How is the difference between belt and chain, 2. The Ohlins was added to your project bike - I would like to know more about how your project bike compared to the new 1260s. 3. Ducati offers mid-controls for the X also and the lines seem blurred as to which one to choose. I want a fun bike that I can spend a whole day riding and not feel beat up. Not a track bike. A sporty/muscular cruiser. They are not available for test rides yet here in Michigan and with this shelter in place. You are the only source. So if you have the time please answer here or in a follow up video. For me money is not the issue. I will build out either bike so I can make the ohlins and mid-controls change on the xdiavel if ergos would be better and belt is better than chain. On either bike I think I would want to have or keep mid controls but add some forward touring pegs to allow a little stretch while riding. I have a road glide that I love and can hop on and come back in a week in a moments notice. I also bought a GS for when I go solo - so I can tour faster but it’s honestly uncomfortable and tiring to ride. I want a fun bike for just day trips. All riders like a little speed and power on tap for when they want. This Diavel seems to fit the bill. I never rode the X but I did ride the first gen Diavel and it was uncomfortable. Too forward and not relaxed on my wrists. Seems like both these were fixed by X and New Diavel. I enjoy your channel and reviews but I think you were having too much fun on this one. A little more info about the above please.

Nice video!! Thank you!! Before I saw your video, I was all about the Harley and Triumph. Now I am considering the Ducati Diavel 1260S. I’m just curious. Does this Diavel 1260S have a lower seat height than the XDiavel??? Because I was looking at an XDIAVEL yesterday, and I had to tip toe on it even with kick stand down. I am 5’6” and taller than this young lady in the video. How can she be flat footed? My guess is the Diavel 1260S has a lower seat height. Is this correct?? I love this bike. I hope that’s the case…..that this model Diavel 1260S has a lower seat height than the XDiavel. Please let me know.

This can do everything the Street Fighter can do on the road BUT you're more comfortable, easier to live with day to day and doesn't give off any heat :) I'd say ride them both and see which suits you best but I personally would take this over the street fighter based on looks and comfort alone.

I had a Diavel Carbon for 4 years, then traded it in 2016 for the then new Tuono Factory; at legal speeds you can still enjoy the Diavel... the Tuono is a bit more difficult to ride at very low speeds (difficult as in, it wants to go faster) ; at the track the Tuono is much easier to ride than the Diavel. Diavel is (for me) also much more comfy to ride: lower seat, higher bars... but that's very subjective. For sheer fun factor and the eargasms the Tuono V4 still is top-tier with the Diavel's V-twin a close second. I was even considering going back from my Tuono to a new Diavel, but trade-in is very painful (money wise) and the new Diavel is quite expensive... Hope this helps ;)

I think I'd rather have the Tuono, sportier bike. Size of the Diavel looks too big for me, and also weighs more. Thanks dude

@@steveboyle6891 the Tuono is not light, but indeed big difference compared to Diavel; in all honesty, on the street the weight of the Diavel NEVER bothered me; Tuono is RSV4 with normal handlebar (instead of clipons) and a retuned engine. The Tuono does like to be ridden like a Harley though: low rpm and depending on torque is just a big no-no, it just doesn't work very well... for a street bike, amazingly enough it runs best at the top 30% of the rpm! The Diavel CAN absolutely accelerate to redline every single time, but doesn't have to to give you the giggles. For street-only use (legal speeds), I'd say the Diavel would be my #1 pick, then the SuperDuke, then the S1000R and followed by the Tuono; if you do track days or live somewhere with nice twisties and no speedcams, the Tuono reigns supreme; check my channel, I have some short clips of my Tuono at the track (and yes, I know, much to learn I still have)

It really depends...if you want to do more spirited riding and canyon carving then I'd say yes. Test ride one and see what ya think.

Love the reviews of course but I'm over in the UK ended up having to choose a lesser cost bike but the one I chose (Benelli 502C) is really a knockoff of this amazing machine. To me it feels better than the Xdiavel in every way except maybe comfort...the Xdiavel is super comfortable riding position BUT the rear shock doesn't absorb bumps as well as this one does so that kind of off sets the comfort.
