GREAT review guys ! You confirmed my belief that purchasing new 2017 1299 S a year ago was the best decision I could have made. 14,000 fun reliable miles , my daily driver I LOVE the untamed power, Always in race mode. The 1299 WILL chew you up and spit you out IF you let it ! It begs too be ridden hard and demands respect makes me feel alive ! I have a 2020 V4 S street fighter on order in memory of Carlin Dunne, what a lose to the motorcycle world. Probably in 2 years get a Panigale R . I do a little track time and a lot of street racing . The 1299 with Akra full race exhaust , only modification , 197 rear wheel horse on 91 octane pump gas, ran a 9.8 1/4 mile 138.8 mph and I had a terrible reaction time. OH, I'm over 70 LOL

I have been enjoying my 2018 V4S for close to two years now. Did 18 track days on it. I keep up with the latest by upgrading to R fairings, dry clutch, Evo2 software, etc, etc. It is an amazing machine. Interestingly enough, for me quick shifter was never ideal, even after installing tension type sensor, it was only after installing Evo 2 race oriented software package on it, which does include upgraded QS logic, it was operating flawlessly in the last two track days. COTA in USA is very hard on brakes, all that is needed is some Vesrah race pads - solid feel all day any temp. Good review !

Thank god, cuz my 19' V4 S is a nut cooker for sure. I will say owning the Previous V4 S is definitely the tops as far as Pride of Ownership, and it was as lively as you said, especially in Race Mode, where power wheelies are possible.

The reason the RSV4 kept winning SBOTY & group tests etc. Was because it was useable, no point having the most power if it was a wild Stella infused council estate tart to ride ! This bike is awesome ! I wanted the 1st gen but I really want this one ! Shame I can’t afford it this year 😭

After watching all the reviews at Jerez for the new V2 being a bike that is easier to ride and less ball breaking compared to the current V4S, I was like great a bike for me. Then they bring this one out with its smoothed off edges and less ball ripping maniac setup and now I am thinking, do I really want a V2? I do definitely want to keep my balls from being ripped off though. Nice vid as always gents.

My 2018 V4s back cylinders cut off in traffic it was a dealer recall update for the first gen V4. It was part of a £1500 recall to help with the heat generated So it isn’t a new thing on the second gen.

Yesterday I was at Ducati dealer to give me a price for V4S but with my chaneges so I wanted to buy next model 2021 but they told me next model come with fucking Euro5 machine lower ps and low Nm and not so loud and gonna heat more than this one so he told me if I can better to order this model for next year....and probably I will do that...

I went from only riding Honda’s (f4i for a month back in 2000, then to a 929 etc etc) to buying an 1199 tricolore in 2015 without ever riding it. Best thing I’ve ever done in regards to Motos... then to a 1299s 3 years ago and also picked up an s1000rr. Both bikes with full akras and the basic must do mods, dyno tuning. The 1299 is just the bike I want to be on. The bmw was good, but being 30-40lbs heavier it just never really got me going. The 1299 is a great bike, just wish ducati upped it to a 1499 like every mad rider wants. I’d trade it tomorrow for one. Should probably start a pole and get people to put deposits down for a 1499 so they’ll actually make one😂🍻

Why doesn't anyone test the base model ?? I finally was able to get a face to face look at a 2020 V4. I ride a 1299 base.... I swear that 2020 version has to be 15cm (half a foot) wider than my bike. Almost reminds me of some old school bikes that were wide as a MAC truck. I guess im use to the skinny V-twin. On track my 1299 is so much work but its pure joy for me... I never get tired of the hard hitting mid rang punch.
