Pine straw is the best. It stays where you put it, doesnt attract bugs. In fact bugs hater it, and keeps weeds out. Yes I'm southern, Florida Parents were from Alsbama and South Carolina.

I’m from Georgia and it was definitely pine straw. Since then I’ve lived in Florida and Texas and we use different types of mulch. Now I live in South Dakota and you see a lot of gravel or rock because we have snow and ice several months of the year

Pine straw must be a southern thing. I never heard of it. Up north in Pa I use rubber mulch. Never needs replaced since it doesn’t break down. Doesn’t fade and doesn’t attract termites.

Hi Amy~ I'm still trying to get caught up on your videos, after we had almost all our flooring replaced with waterproof Pergo. (If anyone is thinking about it I give it 5 stars!!!! We had 4 year old carpet in our living room and 3 bedrooms {and 17 year old Pergo in the kitchen, family and dining rooms} and had a serious dust problem....now after 2 weeks I still see no dust on furniture!!!) Anyway, I wanted to answer a question you had. We live 30 minutes north of Disney World and have our property landscaped with red cypress mulch every year. We've done this for many years. It gives our gray house with a dark red door a nice splash of color. Have a blessed day!!! 🙂

Loved this! In Maine we use mulch. I love black mulch. It looks nice and fresh. You only need to add a little more on the following years to liven the color.
