I was all set to pull the trigger on a Carharrt set but then found a set from Rough Country and went with those. The Rough Country are fitted so they look like a factory seat, waterproof etc. and they look great...no wrinkles and fit perfectly on my 2019 F350. I paid 199.99 for a set of front and rear seats.

Damn that's a good price dude! I went with Carhartt just cuz of the name but they were expensive probably close to $500 bucks 🤦

@@honda116969 So far they've held up, I put them in my 22 F450 and they still look like new after about 8 months now.

Hey there hope all is well! I’m looking to buy my first truck, it’s a 93’ F250 7.5l 460 with 98k miles on it. I don’t have much experience at all with trucks and was wondering if you’d recommend this as a first truck. I came across your channel today and wanted to ask you for some advice. I’d use it as a daily driver and to haul a single or 2 horse trailer every now and then. Thank you.

They offer two different Carhartt seat covers. Custom fit and precision fit. I got the precision fit ones. They fit much tighter than the custom fit ones. There is a big difference. For the money I'm glad I got the precision fit ones.

Are you going to do a tow test with your trailer. The 6.2 vs 7.3?

I had the seat savers in an 2004 hd silverado for 5 plus years. Front seat Velcro wire out they slacked. But cloth held up great. Rear seat got was amazing and giving it to friend to put in his truck to keep using. I changed to seat designs brand last week. Front seat fit is amazing in comparison. I got the Sierra print. Really like the added print colors from boring solid. I do recommend them though. I got my money’s worth. Don’t believe the carrhart upgrade would have been worth money difference.

The duck material is waterproof. Makes water bead up and drip off. Even spilled oil will not penetrate it. Also has fine enough stitching that dog hair doesn't get stuck to it.

I'm hearing that these fit better after being installed for a while and/or washing them. Is that true?

I had the tan Carhardt seat covers in my 2015 Ford F-250 Lariat Diesel. It was a Ford accessory. I did not install the head rest covers as the were a little tight. I really liked those covers.

I got mine for $700 and installed them myself. The best advice I can give is have a first aid kit ready because the seat frame is sharper than my brisket knife. And leave the covers out in the sun until you are ready to put them on.

WE HAVE A f150 and are constantly working with trees and dirt- my wife went and bought a few yards of heavy water proof canvis fabric from Joanne fabric (with coupon ) $50+. A couple of clip on tie downs, remove to wash, in short I would never pay $300. Hope that helped! Stay well.

I have the Carhart covers on my ‘17, with 120k on them, it’s a work truck, the ones you have are different, man me does not cover the sides of the back of the seat, that’s the only thing I don’t like, the stitching is starting to fray now though. On our company Trucks, we have the covercraft, they are good covers, but just don’t stay in place like the Carharts do.

I'll go Old School: a heavy duty blanket that is large enough to cover over the seats! No, I'm NOT kidding. My name isn't Rockefeller, Hunt, or Kennedy, and they'll be offering sno-cones in Hades before I could force myself into spending THAT kind of money on a rig that already runs $60k-$80k! Old School wins. Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY

I think your logic may be a bit misconstrued. First of all this is an STX truck that is not a diesel. MSRP is $53,000 and I don't pay MSRP. With that said, it's still an expensive enough vehicle that I would want to protect it with something more than a throw blanket.

@@Foxboss9 Thank you for the reply, I do appreciate it! I understand your reasoning and the premise is one with which I can agree in principle. However, I was raised by people who came of age during the Great Depression, and their axiom was 'make do'. They didn't believe in buying new when used would do just as well. I buy most of my clothes, kitchenware, furniture, etc., at Second Hand stores; I've work pants that still had the store labels on them, costing $50 that I paid $2.50. I'd choose a really nice, thick, poly blankie that would fit your seats like gloves; look great, feel great, and last a long tiime. Higher grade blankets like a nice Pendelton wool blanket would work great as well. Some adhesive back Velcro sewn on the backs would give a tight fit and be easy to connect. Works great. I'm as much a diesel engine fan as you are a gas engine fan: I like saving money, and I love the much lower cost per mile that diesel provides, while providing mountains of pulling/hauling power while NOT working the engine anywhere near as hard as a gas engine would have to work, pulling/hauling the same load. Diesel engines are built for pulling/hauling heavy loads. Gas engines like speed. However, each to his/her own, that's why we have different engine choices. When I sell my house this year, I'll be looking to spend $25k-$30k on a truck 5-7 years old, with 70k or less on it, I'll buy a factory warranty for it 3-4 years, and that'll cover bumper to bumper safety for repairs. That truck will literally last me the rest of my life and that diesel will last me 400k-500k miles before it needs to be replaced. Anywho, thanks for the great videos, I do enjoy watching them! Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY

Frankly, for that kind of money, I'd expect a "like a glove" fit.
@Foxboss9

Never gonna happen with any seat cover. It's covering material that's already on the vehicle. That also includes if the material was vinyl or leather. Even with the leather seat replacement covers, it requires the original material to be removed and then the new custom fit leather material to be installed by a professional. And you can pretty much add another $500 to $800 to the price.

Now this is great and it looks like the cheaper one is not only cheaper, but BETTER. That said, I see advertisements for "Carhartt Covercraft" covers, making it sound like one of them bought the other one out, and now there's just ONE brand instead of two...?

All YOU needed is a good pair of work overall's when you work then when you are done with your work take them off. If you are still working and need to make a trip to the store then just throw an old blanket or sheet over the seats or buy one that inexpensive. $300 for car seat cover's ''WOW''

Speculation: Will the Carhartt covers sliding back and forth damage the seat material? I dunno. Seems pretty expensive for seat covers.

i would probably go with the carhartt seems tougher to hold up getting in and out over time plus i like the color seems like it's a darker richer looking color. whats a few extra bucks to protect your investment with better quality material.
