How would you know if your temp sensor is bad vs thermostat?

Watch it with a scan tool. What is the voltage showing? When temp goes up voltage drops.

No that's not true. If it's leaking or fails then it gets changed out.

A bad crimp from the manufacturer. Looks like dried oil inside the plastic connector receptacle. Another one down the road burning gas.
