2020 Honda Civic Dash Removal

Had to remove the dash out of a 2020 Honda Civic. The dash was damaged by a falling tree so it will be replaced. Lots of steps to this one. Some of the early stuff may be unnecessary but it's better to get everything out of the way if possible. I tried to document the steps and keep up with the hardware so reassembly will be easier.

It only took about 6 hours to get apart. Will prob take that to get it back together. Had to film it so I can figure out how the hell it goes back together, lol

I have worked on domestics, farm equipment and imports old and new. But it always amazed me the number of parts that fit together and how many engineers it took to eventually have everything in one room to fit, not rub, leak air and look good. All plastic starts out as beads, add 40 black beads to 12 white beads, comes out a screw hot into a mold and matches in color. Time is money, people do not understand how long to takes to disassemble and replace a dash. They think the mechanic makes $150 per hour. It makes me mad Jim! You have developed a good system to simply reverse order and install these parts. They may go 3-4 years with same design but little chance of having that again. Sweet, but hard work.

Way too many pieces and takes way too much time for what we get paid. Not on my want to do again list, lol.

@@StoutCustom I agree 100%. We try to have fun when we can find it. I had a new Rodeo a lady said she could smell antifreeze. Service mgr said replace it anyhow. So, I got this torn apart with right side of dash held high with a 2X4. A salesman came into the overhead door, saw the mess and ask "What is wrong with this", I told him I accidentally dropped a quarter down the defrost vent, and I am looking for it!" WoW. That is all he said and walk away. He bought my story! Used car salesman are not the highest life form at a dealership! LoL. Have a good day Sir. I wish I was still able to work. But after I say it, I am glad I don't. We all pay for hard work like what you do in your videos and then, I don't miss it except the Monday check. Stay safe buddy, I enjoyed all the 67-72 Chevy C10 videos! I wish I could air brush the cab-back trim you did on the square body. That shows real talent, seriously! I was impressed. I wish I had a neighbor like you to learn from as my stepfather was best at leather ass beatings. "Yes, all the chickens are in the coupe and locked. Then 3 or 4 came out of the barns hay stack and walk toward the coupe. Then it somehow was my fault. Glad to leave that huge farm, 660 acres plus 80 acres across the road and they put a milk cow and guess who woke at 4AM to milk it. Shower, change, hit the school bus. Always watching Mr Stout! I enjoy learning. DK.

Must be talking about 1973 and up. I think the 67-72 are welded at the pinch weld at the bottom of the windshield. I don't remember the sides but no wrenches required.
