I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. I went with the Tucson because I wanted AWD. It has been one of the biggest mistakes. The first was getting a Hyundai. They don’t care about their consumers. My car has been blowing headlights- having electrical issues (my auto windows go back down when you roll them up, my rear windshield wipers go off whenever they want, my break light seems to go on and off at random. I have reached out because as a company they should only want the best products out there. I was told that “because my car is over 3 years old. There is nothing they can do for me. To bring it to a dealer and “see what I can get” for it. I owe more than it’s worth because one thing they don’t tell you when you buy a Hyundai is they depreciate way faster than you can make payments to survive. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI.

I purchased this car 3 weeks ago and absolutely regret the purchase. The cars "safety features" have nearly caused three accidents in three weeks, the collision avoidance system has slammed on the brakes as I am changing lanes causing the cars behind me to have to slam on their brakes to avoid a pile up. I am still trying to find a way to disable this before it kills my family. I have already disabled the lane departure system which routinely activates when moving into a right turn lane as it apparently thinks I am going off the road and the car actually tries turn the wheel back into the driving lane. I have spent over 10 hours on the phone trying to get the Bluelink system working (which never worked from the factory). They just keep passing me back and forth from dealer to bluelink support and now to hyundai engineers who should get back to me in a week. . The car has an automatic parking break system that engages automatically when you put the car in park. It disengages when you put the car in gear and press on the gas petal., but you need to press on the petal with significant pressure which then causes the car to lurch forward. Finally twice today the cars automatic transmission wouldn't switch gears automatically as I accelerated. I needed to remove my foot from the petal and coast about 10 seconds before accelerating again. While this is a new model it is clearly riddled with issues and I have little faith that Hyundai will address them

Among all of the 3 row CUVs out there, I’d say this and the Telluride are the best choices right now in terms of interior space and passenger volume. But still.. there’s something I still don’t get with this vehicle class; if you truly need room for both passengers and cargo at the same time, minivans like the Chrysler Pacifica and Honda Odyssey offer more room for passengers, especially in the third row seat and still have room for a bunch of cargo behind the 3rd row. Minivans also vastly exceed 3 row CUVs when it comes to max cargo space, like the Chrysler Pacifica’s 140.5 cubic feet of max storage capacity which vastly exceeds even the Chevrolet Traverse’s 98.2 cubic feet. Each to their own, but why can’t families just admit they need a minivan over a 3 row CUV?

I think styling of Ascent will hold up better over time, and it doesn't have these screens protruding out of dash that are so popular for some reason. Also, will take my leather on dash for fake wood in the Telluride and Palisade. Ascent Touring has both if you really need some fake wood in view. AWD on Suby is better and is handling sportier than Kia or Hyundai. Redline and Motortrend agree on this.

It is nice. But those gear shifter buttons are really annoying to use. I got into a friends car and they had them. It just seems really unintuitive especially if you're in a situation that requires lots of driving forward and backing up since it's not as good as a normal lever. That feels more tactile and it's something that one always knows how to use. Go up to drive, go down to reverse, go up to park, it's a simple, mechanical feel. Buttons replace that feeling. I feel like it's just doing something just to do it instead of making any actual sense or advancement. A regular gear shifter worked fine for the past hundred years, so why change it into something that requires you to look down to make sure you hit the right gear? It just seems stupid

The Palisade looks what a professional that wears a suit would drive, the KIA looks like what the guy that owns a blue collar type of business would drive. The essential difference between the styling of the Palisade and Telluride? This is all you need to know. The Palisade is built in Korea and aimed at the Asian and European markets. Especially the 800 lb gorilla in the room, China. In those markets the principal rivals are luxury SUV's from European manufacturers and a budget priced near luxury vehicle is very appealing. Again, that's especially true in China where a growing middle class may be able to afford a Palisade but not a Mercedes Benz or a BMW. The Telluride, on the other hand, is designed for and built in America. It's not even offered in international markets outside North America. Not even in Korea. In the US the Telluride's competition consists primarily of a flock of midsize mainstream vehicles from Japan and the US. (Pilot, Highlander, Explorer) A "rugged" image sells very well in America where it's the touchstone of midsize mainstream vehicles. Asian middle class consumers have long experience with "rugged." They prefer luxury at a budget price.

@@BilalKhan-qj4cr True. KIA exports about 3,000 Tellurides to Middle Eastern markets. But not to major European or Asian markets.

Telluride > Palisade. I don't care for the looks of the Palisade. I think the telluride EX Is actually perfect and you can't option a palisade similarly.

Agreed, the Kia looks WAY better. I don't know what the hell they were thinking with the rear end of the Palisade, yuck.....and come to think of it the new Sonata is horrid too. What happened to Hyundai's nice design dept?

My wife strongly disagrees with this comment. She loves the Palisade to death. It does not look boxy like the Kia. Lol. With none available in entire city, I think other people love them here as well

what makes these vehicles so popular anyway?
@gs989995 жыл бұрын
Popular is relative. Palisade sold around 5300 last month. To compare, rav4 sold 45,000, Camry 25,000, f150 sells about 60-70,000 per month. So these aren’t really big sellers in the grand scheme of things.
