Love my Discovery Sport. Had it for 6 years and it’s been the best family car ever 👍

We bought our first Discovery sport SD4 HSE in 2019 (it was a 2015 2.2 diesel). We loved it soo much we just bought another, this time a 2017 Dynamic LUX HSE. Quality vechiles

Why is it that when a Land Rover needs a new part it's a heap of shit but when a Land Cruiser needs the same part it's mainatiance?

Good question 🧐 Perhaps, because once the part is fitted, the Toyota is then fixed?

Might be true but you also have to remember that Toyota sold around seven times as much Land Cruisers as Land Rover sold Defenders. I love my Discovery Sport but Land Cruisers are undoubtedly very reliable cars.

Why oh why in reviews of this car do adults ( especially large gentlemen like the presenter) insist on trying to fit in the third row? Do you do that with 911s or an SL500? They are clearly stated as +2 seats by the manufacturer i.e. for children only. We know they're small and for occasional child use, stop filling in video time with crap please. The rest of the video was fine though, thanks!
@chrislfm3 жыл бұрын
Yes well said Stephen. It not advertised as 7 seater. It’s a 5+2. Small children only, presenters will always try the third row and end up getting stuck which gives the impression that car is below par. If you want a seven seater go for the more expensive Discovery. Although I’m 5’ 10” and I fit ok for short journeys. So it can be useful for occasional use. Also why do the test drivers always seem to want more more? Isn’t 240hp, 0-60 in seven seconds and top speed of 130 mph fast enough? “You can take it down a county road in excess of the national speed limit”?!! What?? Why would you want to do that? And then says “you’re not going to drive it like a sports car” The review comes across as somewhat confused. Which is a shame because it was a good attempt. Also odd that the guy who drove it for four months said he will be sorry to see it go but then gives it a 6/10. He wanted a bigger engine and more kit oh and different coloured paint. But that’s not the cars fault is it?

@@chrislfm did you have to slide the middle seats forward and put it in the most upright position when you're sitting in the back?
@chrislfm3 жыл бұрын
@@Elijah-cy9do Yes, I did slide the middle row forward slightly to allow enough room for the middle row passengers and giving me more legroom.

Informative and occasionally amusing. Every winter I think about buying a Land Rover of some sort, thinking that it’ll save me from harsh winter conditions I have to contend with as I live on the outskirts of a town. I’ve never bought one, although I did have a Forrester once, it was quite good. However, I now have a GR Yaris (did I ever mention that?) and I’m convinced it will be great in all weathers on all roads.

That’s a lot of car for the money, it has a prestige brand, it’s spacious, off-road capable and it looks damn good, hence why the success. Some might argue that it lacks a bit of power and refinement when compared to its competitors but I disagree, for the average consumer, that’s more than enough.

Nice review, but you've got to laugh at 'car guys' when they say stuff like "it can't break the speed limit very easily" in a 240 horsepower '0-to-60 in 7 point something seconds' car lol! It's not that many years since you guys would have been RAVING about a car which did 0 to 60 in 7 seconds... I can very easily break the speed limit in my 150hp version, so maybe you're not quite the 'car guy' you think you are?

@marcoalfieri1988 Жыл бұрын
I currently have a MY21 and it’s been the worst car I’ve ever owned. Everything rattles, parking sensors falling off, the “hybrid” petrol’s got worse gas mileage than my 911 4s. New lights on the dash constantly, The second you get up to 130 km/h you start hearing yet another 400000 different rattles and squeaks, build quality is horrendous for how expensive they are. Just buy a Volvo instead, or frankly, ANY other suv. God knows you don’t want to own it out of warranty. And go figure, I got the petrol version since it’s supposed to be significantly more reliable than its diesel counterparts

More importantly the DPF warning is prone to failure and by the time you notice the turbo has blown and sent debris all around the engine and you have a £4000.00 bill

I know people have issues with them, but I’ve had one for over 3 years, never had a warning light that was not low fuel, low screen washer or low tyre pressure, for a slow puncture i had. It’s never been into the workshop. I look after it, drive it sensibly on the road, and have done some green laning (not too rough). It’s also giving me 41mpg which i think is pretty good. My dad had landrovers over the years and don’t remember him having many issues either.
