Dad!!! I viewed countless M1 Air videos and none of them gave the realistic day-to-day impression of the usage and aesthetics of the device as well as you!!!! Another thing to consider is that the 512GB model cost $200-300 more than the 256GB model. But for $200 you can buy the Kingston XS2000 2TB external SSD which supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2. Yeah, the Macbook Air M1 doesn't support that, but future high end Macs probably will (in like 3-5 years), so the drive might come in handy some day. Please help me with advice!🙏🏼 What is better to choose for video editing in FCPX and Davinci --- MacBook Air M1 16 Gb. or MacBook Pro M1 8Gb ? Please help to get rid of this headache
@obidean39643 жыл бұрын
Save that $300 premium of Pro 13 and get MacBook Air instead. Use that saving to upgrade the RAM to 16GB or 512GB SSD hands down. The Pro 13 is basically same computer as the Air. Don't get persuade by the "Pro" moniker seriously. If you want the real MacBook Pro, wait until the rumoured Pro 14 and 16 to launch but expect those to be expensive, I think currently MacBook Air 13 is close to perfect especially for the price. Hope this helps 😌

@@obidean3964 thank you. I’m already got air m1 16ram 512gb and it’s crazy thing I’m shocked specially when compare it with my old HACKin’tosh PC. Love it

@@Zulus41Wow nice. That's actually my dream spec haha. My current laptop is dying rn, much needed for an upgrade but still saving money to get the Air M1 with at least 16GB RAM 😊

Great video, thanks for this! I'm rocking the M1 Mac Mini and M1 Air! Should we be worried about the swap memory usage of these M1 machines?
@dad.03 жыл бұрын
I'm not. MacOS will always use as much swap as it can and the SSD is built for this amount of usage (or it should be).
@arkabose11023 жыл бұрын
use safari to limit swap usage. anyway it will take minimum 10 years with high swap usage to start showing signs of defect.

I’m looking to get 16gb of ram of the mba base model but it is only 7core gpu, so I choose the 8core gpu but then the price reaches the mbp, so then I just gonna get the base mbp and 16gb of ram.

outside of slight design difference, the M1 MBA and MBP are basically the same performance wise

Would it be worth upgrading from 2019 MacBook Pro 1,4ghz i5, also considering it has better screen brightness and speakers than the M1 air?
@dad.03 жыл бұрын
I'd wait for the new Pro they are coming out with this fall with the new design and M1

@@dad.0 Thanks for your good advice. Probably the new mini led 14 inch MacBook pro will be a much much more exciting upgrade. I'm probably going to get that.

Hello! Awesome review. I had a quick question: Do you think that, with the 8gb Ram MacBook Air M1, it's possible to comfortably edit and render 1080p videos, by only running the video editing software and not running anything else at the same time?
@pawankumartripathi64242 жыл бұрын
I am using and yes 8GB is more than enough for video editing and render in 1080p resolution. Works extremely fast and flawless.

Is it ok to work on it plugged in all the time? What is the best way to save the battery lifetime?
@martiananomaly3 жыл бұрын
No need to keep it plugged in as it's battery is a beast and MacBooks have same performance whether unplugged or plugged.

I Was thinking how long will it last . Until it start to get a slow performance. 5-7yrs? When you do photoshops and other multitask as everyday use (professionally)

Somebody help me please! Do u recommend a refurbished base M1 MBP for $1099? Or a refurbished M1 MBA upgraded with 16gb of ram? (which cost almost the same)... I love the touch bar... but at the end, Ram might be more useful right? I can't decide yet :/
@MrLuffy91313 жыл бұрын
I know it's business but I just can't justify spending $200 for 256gb more storage since an m.2 1tb is around like $100-130 but also conflicted just in case I run out of space lol

You stated that 256GB Storage is not enough. However is more really necessary when there is Cloud Storage and External SSD speeds through Thunderbolt?
@dad.03 жыл бұрын
it may not be enough for some but it may be for others. I get by just fine with 256GB
