I really like how in these earlier games they don’t treat you like an idiot and make Nancy spell out every clue for you. She never once makes a comment about Owen Spayder being an anagram, or B T Kaiser, and most of the clues are up to you to read and piece together. It adds a whole other layer of AHA! Moments

Aunt Eloise probably made her money in NY and decided to retire in Florida. But got bored and decided to be a High School librarian. I'd say she just casually decided to be a librarian but she's not just an employee of the library. She's in charge of it. It's typically a requirement to have a Masters in Library Science to hold a position like that. But if she's rich and retired I don't see why she couldn't go back and get her masters. Maybe she already had a degree in something else. 🤔 Aunt Eloise is a mystery in and of herself. EDIT: AND WHAT LIBRARIAN HAS A CAGE THAT DROPS FROM THE CEILING IN FRONT OF THEIR SPECIAL ORDER GREEK ALPHABET SAFE!? 🤣 Second edit: apparently this is all we hear about Aunt Eloise in the games.

I don’t think I ever beat this game, I didn’t pick up the wire cutters but the game proceeded to the bomb, and so I kept blowing up with no way to stop it. Some sorta glitch I guess.

this game is very strict on what you do at what time and what you have to get.

I think that might have been intentional game design rather than a glitch. Some old adventure games (most famously the ones by Sierra) loved putting you in situations where the game became unwinnable if you missed an item or didn't talk to the right person at the right time. Adventure game enthusiasts call this "walking dead".

@@Popebug I remember that was one of the reasons the Myst games were all the rave when they came out. Gamers were so excited that no matter what you did, in any order, your action or inaction at any point would never put you in an unwinnable position.

Ordered both original games and remastered one from amazon 😁 going down the list I have after those three I only need eight more Message, Final Scene, Carousel, Blackmoor Manor, Last Train, Kapu Cave (which I already had but I let someone borrow it and they never remembered to give it back), Phantom of Venice and Castle Malloy.

Usually Her Interactive has a page to walk you through how to install old games to make it play on your computer. Some computers also have the option to ‘act’ like a 1995 computer or older. I’ll have to re-check how to do that. I managed to get it working on my Windows computer a year or two ago, but don’t quite remember how I did it. I think through the Her Interactive site. Anyway hope this helps!

I expected Mattie to be the culprit based on their past, the weird ass scrapbook, and the fact that one of her lipsticks in her dressing room was basically flattened (the mirror when we found the bomb). I always watch your playthroughs once I finish a game to see if I missed anything! Edit: also if dwayne is so pressed for cash, why on earth is he not taking every actor off the street? and only taking people by appointment? beggars can't be choosers and that sounds a lot easier than killing someone and fleeing the country as a solution personally

Two things I noticed if you look at the cutting board in the kitchen with the knife in SCK “Watch Out” is etched into the board and this game, if you look at the calendar there’s an eye in the flowers! And then if you click when the magnifying glass is red the eye goes away.
