Jiseok *did* have a chance to win (although it was *super* unlikely) since Santi didn't have a 100% accurate attack on Togekiss. If Santi missed ~3 Air Slashes in a row in the end there, Jiseok could slowly knock the Togekiss out with Phantom Force. Obviously incredibly slim odds there, but it's greater than a 0% chance to win. No matter how close a championship feels (even if you know it's locked up or all but locked up), it's always hard to believe until the final attack lands!

Believe it is possible always. I won a 1v3 with Milotic when my opponent clicked heat wave to make fun of me. Needless to say I scalded and punished him and waited for sun to go out by recover stalling and knocking out his remaining two Pokémon.

Just wanna take this opportunity to say I love your stuff and you're my favorite Pokemon commentator. lol The games were super one-sided, and I knew you were doing your job to keep it exciting because, yeah, there was technically a chance - though it was something like 1/8000? (1/20^3) I'm much more familiar with MTG, but the concept of "playing to your outs" is basically the same in Pokemon. When a tournament is on the line, you bet I'd take the 1/8000 over nothing, but I'd probably not be really excited about it - just more of a "well let's see" thing.

Battle in the battle tower, once you beat Leon you can go to your boxes and check Pokémon IV, use whatever you’d like but it can help you get some good stats for some good teams, I’m not the best at battling, but I use defensive strategies before attack, while all my computers just go straight for attacks rather than things to effect their teams

Is the urshifu speed ev trained? Or how is it getting aqua jet off before dragapult? and is g-max coalossal w/ steam engine activated really faster than dragapault?

Acqua jet is +1 priority, it's always going to be faster than a non priority move. Coalossal was at +6 speed, wich, with a 252 EV 31 IV investment in speed can become 324, even faster than a max speed choise scarf Dragapult. The dragapult prob wasn't scarf and the coalossal prob didn't have 252 EV in speed, but the point still stands. Also 99% of Urshifus have pretty good speed EVs either way

If anyone uses them please let me know how you like 'em. 0000 0008 GKLD RB (the team I used in my win to Master league, and many others) I typically start Type: Null, Morpeko. 0000 0008 PDN9 BP I typically start Abomasnow, Beartic 0000 0001 VD9F MV I like to start Type: Null/Goodra, Abomasnow That last match was a real doozie though! I ran out of time choosing my team because they had Accelgor Palossand setup. As many know it just starts you with your first four then, which for me was Arcanine, Type: Null, with Water Urshifu, Accelgor in the back. Needless to say, they used the water shuriken set-up, but they started targeting my Type: Null instead of Arcanine. Big mistake. Type: Null soaked up the hits and made Palossand a wet blanket with three max flutterbys. A well placed focus blast on porygon2 from Accelgor, Urshifu sweeped the Incineroar and the Palossand. So yes, to get into Master League I beat Accelgor, Palossand, Porygon2, Incineroar with my Arcanine, Type: Null, Accelgor, Urshifu :D

Honestly, Doubles is a lot more interesting anyways. There’s a lot of Pokémon that are much more usable and there’s a neat variety of interactions I find compared to a lot of thr singles matches I’ve seen. Plus, it’s just so much more fast-paced and chaotic by comparison, but that second bit is high bias on my part.

Megas were a lot worse than Dynamax for competitive play. You may recall in VGC15 that there was 1 single Mega that was found on 90% of teams, that being Kangaskhan. Then VGC16 came around and now 1 of 2 Megas were used by literally everyone. Kangaskhan and Rayquaza. The entire meta was centralized around those Pokemon. Gen 6 had the most stale metagame in Pokemon history, and it was solely due to Mega Evolution.
