Seems a lot more “diesely” in sound than out 3.0 TDI Audi Q5. Very similar engines. Such a great powertrain to drive. I’d love to see 1/2 this engine in the RAM commercial service vans. Should be good for 125Hp, 230ft-lbs. Enough for their intended purpose, which includes a lot of idling.

In the market for a new pickup, between the Ram 1500 ecodiesel or hemi and the F150 hybrid “powerboost”, often have to use my truck as a mobile office in scorching weather and idle in park with the AC on for extended periods. How much louder is the ecodiesel idling than the hemi?

Probably wont get a response due to the age of the post but here goes. Just bought a 2014 Didge Ram Big Horn Ecodiesel. When I start it it makes a semi loud humming noise gor about 15 seconds and then shuts off and the engine is pretty quiet. The dealer told me this was "normal". Does this have to do with tge block heater or the glow plugs or us this engine gaving issues? Thanks for any reply guys/gals

I think the 2020 ecodiesel get 440 torque. Not bad for a 3.0 diesel. The early ones got 420 torque

Just fyi. Do not get the ones made in Mexico. Get the ones made in the US

Honestly, after having one of each, I'll the the Mexican built one over the American built one. The fit and finish is much better IMO
