Loved how this ride was all about education. It’s good to see a rider who cares about not just winning a ribbon, but also a rider who cares about the horses experience overall.

Can we ever see the behind the scenes work you do with them? I often here you say what you work on with them, like a transition or medium trot, but I wanna see how you work on it 😭

I can’t believe how much Sharpie’s musculature has developed. Wow. You both did great job. I think that eventing is the hardest equine sport, hands-down. There is so much you have to do right, with a little luck thrown in.

Fleet Skipper eventing and the highest levels of competitive dressage, for sure. There’s so much they have to be able to do.

Of course this was great and thank you for showing. It got me thinking...What’s Sharpie thinking? “Yes, well she finally got the girth right when saddling me up. The XC was great. She wasn’t paying attention at the ropes, so I had to help her. Finally she got her balance right on the oxer. Her breathing is pretty relaxed and her leg squeeze is pretty right on. So proud of this little rider. She is really brave and really really tries for me!” Love it all!

I'm late to getting to see this but it was so worth it. I love this Horse. I rewatched some of his runs from last year after thexcountry post and the change is amazing. He is so rideable now. He has always been a great model but he looked amazing in the trot up. He did not look like xcountry had taken anything out of him. Re the SJ. He tried so hard and it won't be long before he leaves them all up on day 3. I'm following the EW/Sharpie template with my own Ottb and I can only wish we get to have1/2 the fun.

Sharpie has improved so much in one year. Your hard work and his willingness makeca great combination. Is Sharpie a friendly horse? I am sure he is well mannered as all your horses seem to be but I am just curious as to how his over all temperament is. I truly adore this horse. I had an Arabian chestnut with a white blaze and 3 socks so I am partial to all chesties. Sharpie however seems to have a real brain in his head and seems s really a special horse. Thank you again for taking the time to put these videos together for us.

@@WallaceEventing thank you. So was my horse. I gave pony rides on him for my friends kids from 2 through 6. He never misbehaved .Not once. Even with balloons and 4 yr olds running up behind him. Always loved kids. Did not like men. (Might have read my vibe in my ex) thank you for responding. I think he will be my `dream" horse.

Sharpie was such a rockstar! He's really come a long way and is so much more balanced and uphill. I may have had a "squirrel!" moment at the end there but did they say Reloaded as in Sniper?! Or is there another Reloaded? It's cool to have him & Sharpie reunite at the 2* level if so...

Go Sharpie! :) How do you decide who competes at what level? I thought that Munson and Sharpie were about the same experience level, but Munson went with the big boys in Intermediate. I know Lee is new to you and Johnny is just coming back, and it made sense that Munson is gaining experience but I guess I was surprised at how advanced Sharpie is? (I may just not be up to date on him tho!) :)
@WallaceEventing4 жыл бұрын
Sharpie is a smidge behind Munson. Munson has spent 2 1/2 years at prelim and he was feeling ready to move up. Sharpie has had some green mistakes at the level so he will have another(this season) at it. He’s already feeling like a more educated horse.
