Review of Coachbuilder, Toytec and Proform Fab

Been watching your videos for a long time now. Back last January when I bought my Tundra Pro, the rake or lack thereof was driving me nuts. I tow a Center Console Bay Boat and wanted the rear to come up 1.5 inches. After tons of research checking out Coach Builder, ToyTec and Pro Form Fab, the choice for me was easy. I bought the Pro Form Fabs without hesitation. It's a shackle, it is what it is. You don't need to pay $350, $200, when you can pay $50 and get the exact same results. I did however have to use a side grinder on the bushing sleeves edge to get them on, no big deal. Truck sits perfect, ride is smooth as glass. I'm glad to see you revisited these shackles and tried out the Pro Form Fabs. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for shackles. Another great video, thanks dudes.

exactly!! I just saw that you can use the original bolts by banging them out of the original shackles . did you do that?

@@AndreiDoroftei Yes sir, I used the factory bolts which have splines. Took a hammer and pounded them right out. Pressed them into the new Pro Form Fab shackles and done. Best $50 I have spent in a long time.

@@AndreiDoroftei Well, I called and spoke with the man at Pro Form Fabrications about that very thing. He told me what to do. Said he has done 100's of Tundra's that way. It worked great. Really do enjoy your videos. You are the reason I now have a nice leather wrapped steering wheel in my 2019 PRO. Such a breathe of fresh air to see you and your son working together.

I would prefer the first shackles w/toytecs hardware, those pinch nuts are less likely to backoff from vibration.

Had the toy ones, started towing more.. upgraded to coach builder +3 on my TRD Pro, comes with free carrier drop spacers. 315.00 on ebay and made in the USA. When you see the coach builder shackles, you’ll see why they are the best.. Especially if your putting a large amount of tongue weight, like pulling an 18x8 enclosed trailer with a Maverick X3 in it. 👍 Next upgrade.. brakes..

So by going +3 will they be a total of +5 from stock setting or just +1 from stock setting? I also tow and have aftermarket coilovers in the front and stock bilstein in the rear and I’m sagijnf but only because I I’m already higher in the front from my adjustable coilovers. I bought the red sway bar and Timbrens to help with towing but now I want to raise the rear to accommodate for the front and not have so much sag

Thanks for the video. Only thing I do not like with Coachbuilders is that with my RAS setup, the eyelet bracket will not clear the cross member on the shackle, therefore I cannot install/remove it without taking off the shackles...

Nylon lock nuts vs stover / oval lock nuts. The nylon are cheaper or at least they used to be. Stover are the way to go even though they are a pain to put on.

When pro form says 1.5” is that measured at the rear wheels? Like where you guys measured?

Is there a way to setup the shackles when you put it? I recently bought those coach builder ones and they are massive beefy compared to stocks one.

As far as setup? if your asking if there is a front or back? no either way will work and top and bottom i based it off the writing on the shakle

not in this video but you can reuse the original bolts off of your truck. just but the nut back on and bang out the bolt off the old shackle

What was the height without the shackles? I just bought a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro with the stock R18 all weather Michelin tires. I measured to the same point you did and it's 39 inches.

nothing... coach builder comes with replacement ones ... i would not recommend replacing the oem ones

@@AndreiDoroftei the poly bushings from Coachbuilder will greatly improve the ride. That is probably the best advantage of using them

See I was told u can't use shackles when u have the dull exhaust but clearly that's a lie. I ended up going w a toytec one inch block I got 6112s up front on top setting it's a 15' Tundra limited love the look tho still
