Ride with Warro

4 жыл бұрын

Just clocked my very first 250 kl on my Royal Enfield Trials/scrambler 500 and decided to do a quick oil and filter change. This process is the same for all UCE models in the Royal Enfield brand.
Either the Classic 500 -the Continental GT 535 or the thunderbird. Even if you have the humble 350 just follow these easy steps.
All models C5 B5 G5 it's the very same process for the lot

Hi warro. I think you didn’t change the two oil seals from the oil filter. And to get more oil from the sump you can kick it over. But make sure ignition is off. Ride safe. Looking forward to seeing your next video.

I just re-used the original oil seals again in the filter section. over the years I've re-used those same seals probably 10 times or more on some of the C5's without a problem. never tried that kick it over trick

Nice, thanks Warro. Picking up a Chrome Green from Toowoomba on Wednesday, different model I know, but I think they have the same engine. Now I will be changing out the oil at 250klm.

nice colour! not much difference in the mechanics...lol like none! remember too I ran those magnets under the main sump plug that pulled out more metal particles floating about than the norm too.

Thanks for the video. I was amazed at how much grey sealant was wrapped up on the sump screen on my first two oil changes. Hopefully all the passages are clear in my engine. These are in my opinion the easiest bikes to own and ride. Everything is basic enough for a spanner monkey to feel right at home!

a few years back it was a cotton type material attached to the screens from their work gloves in the engine assembly line. don't see that now so they must use rubber style gloves. true they are very easy handling bikes to ride and grab a spanner on

actually picked up a fair bit of rubbish really. its back on again now and I will run it to 600 kl and do the drop again them follow through to 1500. at AU$30 a change its really nothing compared to a dealer hit. flyscreen is good as I've run them before. bike is quicker and its 5 mph faster at the top end and cuts through the wind better. late today I was cruising along thinking this bike appears quicker than this morning. then remembered I put the screen on …...lol

yeah i was!..lol back to a C5 again after all its my favourite bike. i put in a NGK plug from new and had excessive vibes. never thought that much about it as I've had bad vibe bikes before. today i pulled that plug out and replaced it with a NGK plug i had in stock -that was on today's trip. bike ran better and has lost a bit of the rough vibes too. never had it happen before but it appears i got a faulty new NGK plug...lol running the bike in now with lots of heat cycles thrown in. so far so good!

Ride with Warro my classic c5 is luckily not a high vibe bike. Only just fully finished breaking it in and I have installed the Carberry plate as well as a bigger socket as I am finding when ever I ride I end up out of town cruising so wanted that smooth 90-100. Honestly one of the favourite bikes I have ever owned!

Wazza. If I pump the kick starter will I get more oil out?
@ridewithwarro
@ridewithwarro 2 жыл бұрын
well you will but i see no reason because regardless of what you do-use kicker or rock bike side to side at the end of the day there is still oil inside the motor. in 50 years of driving i have never seen a car mechanic do an oil change then pull the plug leads and crank the motor my thoughts would be and its a far better idea. do more frequent oil and filter changes and just use semi-synthetic oil i've done that on past 20 enfields including interceptor/himalayan and classic 500 and 350 and had no issues. on the 500's i've had both side covers off plus the head too and the oil pools in that many places...its wasted time unless one totally pulls the motor out and strips it completely and cleans it up the re-assembles and adds fresh oil and filter...lol not a proposition so don't be concerned!

Have you ever changed the final drive chain from new as I’ve noticed a few people have had the originals come apart.

if your talking about the main drive chain i have not had any of those come apart but i have had several with frozen links and i replaced them with better quality chains in under 500 klm

Hi mate do you think it is possible to drain the oil through the 2 other points and not the main oil drain plug as mine is stripped?? Thanks
@ridewithwarro
@ridewithwarro 4 ай бұрын
id say yes. just make sure your filter screen is out when you undo the 2 - 8mm bolts and undo the filler cap too.may also help to tilt the bike left and right to get more oil out too

@@shagunthakur9540 sure royal enfield recommends a lot of thing....and a lot of times they are wrong! frst of all they should improve the quality of their build on bikes my tpersonal thoughts after owning many-in these bikes please yourself 10w-50 or 15w-50 doesn't matter -just don't run it over full or the opposite. that will cause far more issures than grade of oil......lol
