With these bikes, you have to beat em a little in the break in period, don't follow the manual. Here's what I do, Start it up, let it warm up, vary the RPM a Little bit under 3000 for as long as it takes to warm up. Go out, do about 20 percent to 80 percent throttle. Do that for 20 minutes, take it back in, change the oil and filter. Take it back out, warm it up, then vary the RPM, at about 20 percent, to 90 percent throttle, until 25 hours, change the oil. Run as hard as possible for the rest of it's life.

@@DeadGull72 I just got done building my 05 500 engine, it was at 14000km and needed it's first rebuild, the belt was changed twice, and it needed a primary clutch, when you treat these Polaris Right, they give you everlasting reliability.

@@tylerrusty1122 so true. I was talking to my friend about all my used bikes that had way less km on them and the clutches all needed work. This is the first atv that I ever bought new Is this 850. @@DeadGull72 Mine has 1328 Hours on it. It sat outside for 2 years before I came to rescue it. My first ATV I've owned. Great to hear you are enjoying yours. The 850s seem to be pretty reliable these days, you have obviously taken care of yours. The old ones had some major issues with the Oil Blowby system, and the crank, but that's been sorted.

No having the 3rd brake light really doesnt make it that much different and the 3rd break light is one of the best things about it.

True, but I will be using my bike for work, not just fun. I have fun all summer and work all winter. I am getting the reverse light as soon as i have the funds for it.

Did your rear differential backlash start getting loud yet? Mine did around this mileage, but based on your hours you've been cruising fast so probably not on and off the gas a lot....

No, not mine. If you think it may be the rear diff, check the inner axle sv joint.

Also not certain, but I'd assume some manufacturers run a rich fuel map for initial break in to keep the engine cool as tight parts create the most heat and excessively rich mixtures ( break in map ) reduce power output

Check page 60 of your 2020 owners manual. There it says the break in period is 25 hours. Or call Polaris whatever. The breakin period is 25 hours. The service interval is entirely different. There is no 75 hour breakin on these machines.
