We purchased a Forester. This is our second Subaru. We bought an Impreza in 2018. We researched the Forester, and we're torn between the,Outback and the Forester. We feel that there is more bang for the buck with the Forester. We chose the Premium model. Price paid a part in our decision. I feel that this vehicle will suit our needs just fine. I just wish that the Forester would have the same towing capabilities of the Outback.

I just bought a 2020 Forester Sport. Only put a couple hundred miles on it so far and love it. Drives a lot better than the 2015 Premium I had.

I now own two late model Subarus. A,2018 Impreza and a,2020 Forester. We purchased the Forester less than a month ago. We chose the Premium model. There are two things that I wish that Subaru would have addressed, The base model has 17 inch steel wheels. The Premium has i7 inch alloy wheels. I would prefer to have the 18 inch alloys with the larger breaks. In order to get this, you need to go up to the sport package. I prefer the premium,,and would ha e been happy to pay a few bucks more for the wheel and break pack age. Other than that,,we are perfectly happy with our purchase. The Impreza has been a GREAT little car. As a matter of fact, my wife has ridden in the back seat of bith vehicles. She says that she prefers the back seat of the imp reza over the forester.

Excellent review of the 2020 Subie Forester, love your Boston accent, I heard it strong at times. I'm not what the exterior color is of the one you reviewed, but it certainly looks amazing 👌. However, the 2020 Legacy XT Touring you recently reviewed was awesome.

Thanks Ricky! The color on this Forester is Magnetite Gray Metallic. Looked amazing in person. Yeah the Legacy Touring XT was so nice and the tan Nappa leather made the interior look very premium.

I really am diggn the 2020 Forester but it's not for me until they drop the Accent engine into it! Also wish they would add another exhaust pipe for balance.182 HP is just unacceptable in this day and age especially for the amount of money Subaru is asking. I own a 2013 Acura RDX with 273 HP that is just pure excitement! Anyway, I liked your review a-lot and you just gained a new subscriber!

Thanks for the sub Greg! I definitely think we;ll see the turbo in the Forester again in the near future now that the Outback and Legacy are using a 2.4L turbo 4 cylinder.

Maybe next year or the year after or never to get the optional regular gas turbo engine that Subaru has been producing since 2018. Why not in 2019 or 2020? I know that it's more cost-efficient to produce only one engine and transmission for a vehicle. I hope that rumors are true, even if it's going to be too late for us. The Forester still is a great sized Suv that is easy to get into and has great legroom. With all the safety tech and AWD, the Forester otherwise still offers a lot.

The cargo space listed on Subaru's website is only 28.9 ft^3 but in your video you stated 33 ft^3, why the discrepancy? 28.9 ft^3 does seem rather small for this class of vehicle.

When I filmed this review in 2019 the new method to calculate rear cargo space which is set by the SAE hadn't been applied yet. So the 2021 model year on paper has less cargo space than last year despite dimensions going unchanged. The same method was applied to the Outback as well, making the Outback appear to be less practical than the prior generation even though the Outback grew in size. This was a topic that got completely overlooked at the New York International Auto Show in 2019 and slipped below the radar.

Hi I own a sport forester, been getting 27mpg town and 32mpg on extended freeway drives. Just completed 700 mile trip at 32.1 on hwy thru California sierra. I just passed 2100 miles, so still breaking in.

We just took a 1000 mile trip in our Forester. We averaged 28.5 on the trip. We live in the S F bay area. We drove all the way through Yosemite and the drove to Mammoth Lakes. And then up to Lake Tahoe, and then back home. So it went through higher elevations,,and many winding conditions. We were pleased with the MPG. I hope this was helpful for you.

The leather wrapped steering wheel comes standard on the Limited, but for it to also be heated you'll have to option for the additional package which includes the 8 inch touchscreen with onboard navigation, the 9 speaker Harmon Kardon Audio System, and Reverse Automatic Braking. Most Subaru Forester Limited models on dealer inventories have this package already included, at least up here in New England.
