Tremor update posted: carlisuspension.com/2020-super-duty-rd/ Measuring a stock Tremor against a standard Super duty shows the Tremor to sit approximately 1-7/8″ higher in the front. The rear has quite a bit more lean on the standard Super Duty but, if averaged, about 1″ taller in the rear. With this in mind, our 3.5″ and 5.5″ systems on the standard Super Duty will actually be a 1.5″ and 3.5″ System on a Tremor.

Hi! A viewer of ours recommended this suspension for our new 2022 F450. We'd love to improve the ride without lifting the truck. We tow a 20K fiver and don't want it un-level or too close the t bed rails... We'd love to hear your thoughts.

If you haven't heard anything by now... you're dealing with a medium duty truck (450, 550) instead of a light duty (250, 350) that the Carli suspensions are designed for. You might want to check out Kelderman suspensions. They specialize in air suspensions for medium duty trucks.

Hi - Just ordered a 2021 SuperDuty and plan on using your kit. Told by the fleet manager its probably one of the first 2021s ordered. Not too far from your shop if you need a 2021 super duty to test the kit on. Truck should arrive some time in Jan 2021 so the fleet manager said. Drop me a message if interested.

After watching this video and reading from the media section on your website regarding the 2020 SD. I compared your measurements to my fully loaded King Ranch F-350 your measurements are 3/4 to 1" lower than mine , so I went to the dealer ship and measured 5 other King Ranches and Platinum's, they all were exactly the same as mine. The front bump stop is at min 1 1/2" some 1 3/4" not 1" with all this being said if I lift the front up 3 1/2" it will be higher than the back, in my opinion Carli should come up with a leveling kit made for the 2020 platform classic blue smoke and mirrors in my opinion, Make a true 2 1/2 " for the 2020 and you will sell more and remain as a top manufacturer, this is a move that some of the sub par manufacturer's would do. The article is titled R&D, there is no D involved here.
@thecarlisuspension
@thecarlisuspension 4 жыл бұрын
Good to know they're seeing more that 1" in most situations. Ours was 1" to the bottom of the bump stop (not metal to metal, until the beginning of contact). Regardless, in terms of usable travel, 1.5" is unacceptable, 1.75" is unacceptable. If we were to do a 2.5" system to the new platform, they'd have a full 1" less suspension travel than the previous generation; this is an 11% reduction is travel all to lose 1" in lift height which WILL be felt. We're going to err on the side of performance, here - the 1/2" front high stance when no rear leaf spring option is added encourages the installation of the progressive add-a-packs which will again, result in better performance.

Nope, that's the one thing we didn't do was tire "poke". It's minimal, maybe 2" or so!
@Jmaples71
@Jmaples71 4 жыл бұрын
That’s what I thought. I’m not a fan of extreme poke either. I plan on using the same wheels and tires (along with your 5.5 lift once you get it launched) on a tremor which has the 1/2” fender flare and wanted to make sure it had at least some poke. I don’t know what the opposite of poke is - maybe “recessed” - but I hate that look more than extreme poke.

Awesome video. Are you guys going to release air bags for the 2.5 kit?
@thecarlisuspension
@thecarlisuspension 4 жыл бұрын
We're not at this time. The 2.5" system has the same rear travel as the 4.5" meaning you need the super-long bags we use in the 4.5" System. Problem is, you can't install them on the 2.5" Systems or the lower piston sits too deep into the bag. Shorten the bags and you can't droop without tearing the bags.

How come u guys dont include a drop track bar and pitman arm with these kits. Wouldn't u wanna keep the those angles as flat as possible to reduce bump steer.
@thecarlisuspension
@thecarlisuspension 3 жыл бұрын
The angle on the linkage has less to do with bump steer than the relative angles of the drag link and track bar. Ensuring they cycle along the same arc (factory arcs are maintained) ensures bump steer/wheel feedback is minimal AND allows for substantially more up-travel. Drop track bar bracket and drop pitman would require longer bump stops shortening travel significantly.
@adams5xr847
@adams5xr847 3 жыл бұрын
So do u guys see more bump steer with 2.5" leveling kits over the 4.5 lift? Comparing the 2 seems the only difference is the drop radius brackets. Had a 2.5" level lift on my 17 f350 and bump steer was really noticeable over stock. Added a adj track bar, dual steering stabilizers, caster correcting radius arms and also tried castor shims to minimize bump steer. It helped but still drove me nuts. Just recently removed it all besides dual steering stabilizers and bump steer is tolerable again. Looking to purchase another system just trying to figure out which option is best. Thanks,

On the 2020 Ford F-350 Diesel 4wd - What size tire looks and rides best 37/12.5 or 37/13.5? Also would you recommend a 17" or 18" wheel?

@thecarlisuspension
@thecarlisuspension 4 жыл бұрын
The adaptive steering is finicky, for sure. I HATE the lane-keep assist (buzzing wheel) but that can be deactivated. Honestly, if you're running sufficient caster, steering wheel is dead-straight, and you have our steering stabilizers, we've not found the adaptive steering to be problematic. It's when things are incorrectly setup that there's a problem.

6:11 This right here. I just don't understand why guys are buying superduty trucks and then reducing their payloads back to non superduty. What is the point? Do they ride rough stock? Yep, because you can tow and haul massive amounts of weight. There is no free lunch. You don't get to change the suspension so it's nice and cushy and still tow/haul anywhere near what you could before. Having said that, guys will still tow/haul what they did before and claim all is good. That is because they have no idea that they are exceeding the limits of this new system. The truck isn't going to let you know it is about to exceed itself and give you a really bad day....it seems fine and then it happens. Anyway, I won't be dicking with my system this much.
@thecarlisuspension
@thecarlisuspension 3 жыл бұрын
The point is, you can get a Diesel, 4x4, straight axle truck that rides well! Super duty describes it's hauling ability and build quality - not all who buy them do so only to tow. That said, we offer systems that make them ride well AND options to maintain the payload while increasing the ride! You can have the best of both world in this platform.
@suburbanhobbyist2752
@suburbanhobbyist2752 3 жыл бұрын
@@thecarlisuspension Okay. If a guy had a F350 CCSB and went with one of the 2.5" systems and opted for the "add-a-pack", would he still have the FULL stock tow/payload? For instance, on a 2021 F350 CCSB Platinum (so full loaded with options) the stock payload is around 3,700 lbs. Without adding airbags, because they do not give you more payload, do the add-a-packs offer that amount of payload? From the videos I've watched you seem to dance around this a bit. In one of the CJC Offroad videos they were careful to say that using the add-a-packs would give the truck a "F250" stock payload. I take that to mean the F350 would lose the 800-1000lbs of payload it has over the F250 when going with add-a-packs? Do you test them somehow to come up with your payload capacities?
@thecarlisuspension
@thecarlisuspension 3 жыл бұрын
@@suburbanhobbyist2752 Going to be doing a video on this, exactly. The short answer, the main spring pack, NOT the overload, is what's responsible for the truck's payload. As only the overload is altered, the payload remains. Where the rear end sits when loaded changes (but so does the front when leveling the truck with a lift) but not the actual capacity. The Full Replacement Leaf Spring packs are what reduce the payload to a "Light 3/4-ton". There's not dancing around the number as there isn't one. Deaver assigns this capacity and won't put a number to it - they're the spring manufacturer so we answer the question the way they do. Above stated, we will be doing a video to answer these questions when we purchase our new super duty.
@suburbanhobbyist2752
@suburbanhobbyist2752 3 жыл бұрын
@@thecarlisuspension Awesome. I really appreciate the response and look forward to the video. I am totally not opposed to adding air bags to help with sag when loaded up but I want to retain my original stock payload, within reason. I realize you might lose a bit but I wouldn't want to drop 1000 lbs or something. That is why I opted for the 350 and not the 250. I was resigned to going with your front set up (which is amazing by the way) and just adding a 1" larger block in the rear just to make sure I didn't lose too much payload and just deal with the rougher ride. Anyway, I'll look for the video. Thanks!
