@@HotStinkyGarbage I use one now since i procced at high velocities my teammates won't stand a chance. I drive a Prius C now, it's slow and weak but likes to go fast. It has slow acceleration but quite high top speed. This baby can go from 0 to 60 downhill.

I'm surprised you only averaged 35 mpg because most people are able to exceed Toyota's mileage rating by quite a bit. I have one of these on order despite the fact that I'm typically not a fan of 'grocery getters' haha. I've mostly owned trucks and sporty cars over the years, but I'm primarily focused on fuel economy wit this purchase. Plus, the Rav4 Hybrid is actually pretty fun to drive and is very practical with its large passenger and cargo space. I plan to keep this thing for at least a decade and with Toyota's known reliability, I suspect that won't be a problem. I also love the fact that these are pretty easy to maintain for DIYers.

This RAV4 is not that quiet on the freeway, it also is kinda loud when accelerating but I dont care because JBL covers all the unnecessary sounds! 😁 Excellent all-arounder car. Best price/performance deal at the moment for cars.

Have a 2021 XLE and it is luxury car quiet around town and no louder than any normal car on the highway. I'm thinking of picking up a ES300h for my touring car and dedicating the RAV 4 to winter duty. That should set me up for oh, about a decade or two of blissful, economical, and dependable motoring.

Not to scare anyone away from purchasing this vehicle but please be aware as to what I experienced with this vehicle twice in one day: I live in the midwest and rented one of these. During this day it was snowing quite a bit and it accumulated/compacted on the front of the vehicle, with this I had no idea it would affect the cruise control. The cruise control on these are a "radar cruise control" well the compacted snow on the front of the vehicle not only disabled the cruise control but also the "pre-collision alert system"...would be kind of nice to have cruise control and pre alert collision for a 5 hour drive. Also the first time I got 30 miles down the road, went back to budget exchanged for another Rav4, got another half hour down the road, HAPPENED AGAIN, absolutely pissed me off. You would think Toyota would have better calibration methods with these sensors or not completely rubbish equipment, I've never experienced this in any other vehicle ever, so if you live in the midwest or where it rains and snows just a heads up.

No lie, I went to the dealer to buy a Tundra and just about choked on the 14 mpg that was stated on the Monroney of the $47k SR5 double cab 4x4. I'm going to wait for the new Tundra with the hybrid. I expect 28-30 mpgs and similar or better towing capability than the current iteration. Drove out with a RAV-4 hybrid and plan on selling in 24 months and ordering the hybrid Tundra

i was wanting this little suv as my next car but after reading the reviews on cars.com i am hesitant. customers complain about problems but the worst thing is several reviews stating poor gas mileage. the mpg is the selling point for me, especially being AWD. i would only buy one if i could take it on a trip to see real world mpg. i doubt any dealer will agree to that so i will look elsewhere. im real tired of cars that dont get the rated mpg.

its actually not a huge issue, Toyota made mistake with the numbers. 460 mile range when full tank is not bad but instead reported 560. My camry can go 400 miles range when tank is full, not as efficient as this and still goes more than 2 weeks without having to buy gas. so you can literally go 3 weeks or more in the rav4 with the so called defective tank which is not bad for the size.

@@modernsoccer1860 I read from multiple owners that the 560 can still be achieved through a technique with filling up the tank. I think it you would have to lift the nozzle to the mouth of the tank, not putting it all the way in.

Sarah Katherine the only 2021 version available as of now is the RAV4 prime. I just bought the Limited Hybrid fully loaded. There ARE deals out there but be careful because there are some dealerships that like to mark up the hybrids. After all, it is Toyota’s best selling vehicle. But it’s worth it. Me and the family took a drive to San Francisco, about a 800 mile round trip ( including driving around the city and back) I probably spent $60 on gas, with some left over. Great buy. Now the batteries have 10 year 100k mile warranties. So DRIVE IT! lol

Question: will the A/C work when the gas engine shuts down? That was my issue with the 2006-2012 Ford Escape Hybrid. I live in TX and the A/C should never shut off. 😄

The AC Compressor is electric but be aware the battery is small. You would need a RAV4 Prime to get any decent AC run time without the engine starting.

Yes I have a Lexus Hybrid and everything works exactly the same as any other car. The Hybrid will switch on the gas engine when needed, but you will never have ANY issues running the A/C or any other features.

I bought a 2020 Rav4 Limited and the driver's seat are not comfortable. It gives me lower back pain if I drive for more that 30 mins. It becomes uncomfortable at any position.

New rav4 owner here. (one week old) I have a mileage issue. I am averaging on a RAV4 HYBRID around 20.5 MPG and this is not pleasant at all while they advertised MPG is 40. Also when fueling it on empty it only takes 11Gal instead of 14. So shall i welcome myself to the LEMON community buyers :/

I think there is a lot of wrong statements in this review.The design of the dashboard is good and the screen well positioned also it is touchscreen even when you drive (hello Mazda) I don’t agree with few persons here and i think the seat are confortable and i am 6,2. I don’t want the door opening at 90 degrees with the risk of hitting other cars in the parking. I don’t feel tight in the car. This is completely false. The crv has bad infotainment, with touch button and bad seat and bad speakers. The audio in the crv is horrible but the guy does not tell anything about it when he compare to the crv. I doubt the fairness of this review. It is opposite to most of the reviewers and to a lot of reviews users and my personal test. I understand that a look or interior does not match for everybody but saying the screen is not positioned correctly or you feel tight in the seat is completely false. And if people finally does not like it. They were not forced to buy. The rav4 is the best selling and is certainly not for nothing. People don’t want oil dilution in the engine and does not want small engine 1.5l in a compact suv. They want rear room cargo space low gas consumption, good sound system (without being the best) a good overall vehicle that fit all scenarios) the crv is not good and i don’t trust (with good reason) a subaru engine.
