I am glad to hear you said it can be a touring bike for the distance so many reviews talking about the Speed Twin is for the "city" rider, how can it not be made for longer distance with a more relaxed seat and ease of cruise. Triumph Motorcycles have been really getting into my mind lately! haha Your reviews are always Great brother, Safe Rides!

Nice review, I bought one without a test ride ,it’s an amazing bike. Nice Parallel twin(not a V twin)😉

I just bought a 2020 speed twin a few months ago. Compliments my 765RS street triple nicely. Great for in town rides!! About $600 in suspension upgrades would have your jaw dropping! After putting about 1,000 miles on it I have the same small issues as you mentioned, engine heat and the hide and seek kickstand.
@PetroHead3 жыл бұрын
Yep.. exactly what I said.. Great second bike next to Striple. 2021 Spwin has the beefed up suspension AND same calipers as our Striple RS but even bigger discs (320 vs 310.. nuts!).

Love my 2019 Speed Twin, especially after upgrades (de-cat, suspension upgrade, Vance & Hines). But . . . I don’t like the seat. I get bum-numb after about 50 minutes of riding. And i am not impressed by the after-market seat alternatives.

Great review thanks. I sold my MT09 and bought ST a few months ago and love it! So much character and soul compared to sport bike. If you like ST stock, wait until you ride it with a Nuke shorty exhaust and Xpipe. I'm grinning ear to ear !

Nice review Petro👍🏽 Love this bike🔥 What do you think of the exhaust? You’ve replaced the full exhaust system on your R6 & your Triumph. If you had this Speed Twin would you swap it out, or would stock exhaust do?
@PetroHead3 жыл бұрын
I heard one today @ another dealership with a full exhaust.. it sounds dope! I’d def change it.
@mymotosai50363 жыл бұрын
I put a Nuke Shorty exhaust on my ST and it sounds and feels soo much better. Not too loud but opens it up and gives it a nicer growl.

14ltr tank..hmm not my idea of a touring bike. Bit of B-road bombing and some half decent A roads is where this bike works best. Interesting that many 'reviewers' mention the handling yet very few take the bike on a road with corners.
@andrewbecker37002 жыл бұрын
Certainly not a v-twin. Though I do run Bel-ray synthetic V-twin 10w50 oil in my '22. Its engineered for air cooled big inch HDs and helps keeps engine temps down.

I really like how the bike felt when I sat on it, probably should have bought that instead of my st RS, but it's not exactly my style, riding position felt great

Ey bro I do not know if you remember me but I haven't bought a bike yet hahaha I think I am stuck in what they call analysis paralysis. Anyways this bike is also on my list now, seems my list is just getting longer and longer, hell even the BMW F900XR is on my list. hahaha

How is comfort on less good roads? Very much considering this one, but have a bad back and that's the reason I might swap my (cool but uncomfy) Low Rider S for one. Also want a smaller/nimbler bike again (had a Z900RS before)
@PetroHead3 жыл бұрын
It’s pretty comfortable but I can’t give you a 1-10 scale.. definitely clickable and feels light once it gets going.
@stratolestele7611 Жыл бұрын
Hans - Did you make a decision? I've got a bad back too (probably has a lot to do with all my years riding my lowered softail) and I haven't ridden in a few years and seriously miss it.
@lapinobel Жыл бұрын
@@stratolestele7611 after a bit too much swapping/selling/buying I ended up with a BMW r1250r for comfort/speed and a Harley Fat Boy for lazy sunday cruises. The BMW will probably be sold this year to get a more retro-looking bike again.

Kept waiting for the twisty roads you promised but they never came. An American's idea of a twisty road would be a straight road to a UK rider.

UK roads are nice but you guys are literally in the woods and have to deal with mud and puddles all the time..

Indeed it's a parallel. But the sound is akin to the 90° Vtwin. Because the firing interval is exactly the same.
