Great video, thx Kate. It's raining here in Texas so today I just sat on 2021 Tiger 900 GT low and got a walk around intro -it felt pretty good and I'm set to test ride her Tuesday/Wednesday when the rain stops. The 2021 comes with the slipper clutch which my BMW F800ST does not have. Thank you again for entertaining and very informative video, I've watched a lot on this bike and yours is the best.

We just traded my wife's Street Triple R Low for a Tiger 900 GT Low. I was sorry to see the Street Triple go, that was a fun bike to run around town but wish I'd got it to a track day before we sold it. We switched to a Tiger for something a little more comfy for long distance touring and the ability to go down some fire roads or access camp grounds, etc. Really impressive bike for the price. She'd taken a liking to the practicality of my H-D Pan America Special also, so the 900 GT Low was really a no brainier given her 5'4" height.

Used to live in the Forest of Bowland so know those roads well, lovely part of the world. Now live in Northumberland, even better adventure bike country. Currently riding a lovely GSA Exclusive but looking for something a little lower next time as I’m getting no younger, the Tiger certainly looks to be a candidate as you don’t need 135hp on an adventure bike, especially as I ride solo these days.

I'm going to test ride the Tiger 900 GT Pro in January 2022 and hope it meets all my comfort\performance and pleasure needs. As you know I have a Ninja 1000sx and find it a little uncomfortable even after putting the low seat on, which increases leg bend but straightens you up a bit. Other things like top box makes the bike wobble behind other vehicles at speed and makes the suspension feel so unsettled, "strange but true" no matter how you adjust it. Love the get up and go but finding the straight four is lacking in character. I know the new 1200 is coming out but thinking may have more fun on the smaller bike. I have test rode the GSA, love the Tele on it but still fine the engine a bit like a tractor and the quick shift can kick you up the ass, oouch! Plus the price of the new larger capacity bikes. Thinking I can get the 900 GT Pro and a Arai Tour X4 ha! Wondering if you can get your hands on the 900 GT Pro before me and post a serious ride review, in the way you do girl, good enough for me. I sat on one and I'm 5'8" with 29" inside leg and it seemed really nice height wise. As always loving you:-) Not sure about that other rider abusing your bike, hahaha!

The six-footers can relate. Same problem with racing bicycles. Optimum seat height for good pedalling mechanics means balancing on toes at lights and hill starts. Roundabouts are a nightmare. Looking forward to putting my feet down on a big motorcycle. Enjoyed the video, especially the encounters with sheep. I thought they behaved themselves with no sudden movements. Looked like a nice ride.

Hello, Kate. Love your videos! So you’ve ridden the F900 XR and Triumph 900. Which would you get? I’m having a hard time deciding between the two. I’m the same height as you and have the same inseam, so it would be the low suspension in one of those two. I have a BMW R1200 R and am looking for something more comfortable and lighter. I do short trips around the state here in the US. And do you think there would be problems commuting in the city in either? Thanks for your advice.

So I have a new Triumph Tiger GT 900 low and so far I’m really enjoying it. The only “issue” that I’m hoping someone smarter than me can explain, is why I have almost no chicken strips left on the front tire, but plenty to go on the rear. I’ve had many many motorcycles over the years and I’ve never seen that. I’m not trying to get rid of the chicken strips or anything. I’d rather have traction for the street. I’m worried the front May wash out. TIA

Hi there ok yes this is while after you did this vid but an honest opinion is being asked for. I currently have the tiger low (2020) and can pretty much flat foot with it in the lowest setting (760mm) and firm balls of feet in the high setting (780mm), thinking of changing to the R1250GS with the factory lowered option (shorter springs and low seat) but that is still a listed seat height of 800mm, whilst I know seat width and direct line to ground come into effect (pegs not in the way). There is zero chance of me getting to sit on one as the dealer here (Singapore) will only bring one in with a firm order and a 4 mth wait, you have sat on both is it worth me still considering one or would I most likely be on tiptoes?, if it was still viable then I may well come to UK and get one to import myself. Dealership price here is = to abt £45k otr (crap load of tax ). Cheers for any insight and yes I did subscribe 😁
@UsernameKate
@UsernameKate 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Rory, it's very very hard to advise your here because ultimately, I am not you and we all have different levels of confidence when it comes to dealing with bike heights. It is possible to manage a bike on one leg like I do (I have a standard height GS) but it is not for everyone as I appreciate some people like to have both feet down. I think the weight of the boxer engine will help you as its so low down but if I advise you incorrectly, you've gambled with your hard earned cash on my recommendation. I have ridden a factory lowered gs with a low seat and I could flat foot it with a bend in the knee but I have an inside leg measurement of 29 inch. It's just a shame you can't sit on one.
@roryferguson2003
@roryferguson2003 2 жыл бұрын
@@UsernameKate cheers for that Kate, it's ok not looking to you too "advise" me 😁 just after a comparisson from someone that has sat on both. Yeah it'a real pain in the perverbial not to be able to swing a leg over one, but from what you have said I am still leaning towards getting one afterall who doesn't like shiney new toys. Ridiculas thing is I could reduce my costs bt abt half by importing a "used" one (even a pre-registered one) due to import duty charges over a new one. So who knows even with a trip back to the UK I would save a shit load. As for the single foot/both feet yes I prefer both feet down even if just to balls of feet, just feels safer when I have the dog on board 😁. Anyways cheers again for the info it's all food for thought.

The front break lever has a span adjuster so you can set the bite point to suite your dainty little fingers Kate and you were riding them lanes 3 gears lower than I do. Even on my old Street triple RS I would be in 6th gear by the time I was at 45 mph and drop down to 5th below 40 mph you were doing 45 in 2nd gear. When in sport mode both the Street triple RS and the Tiger 900 have really good engine breaking so no need to keep the Tiger 900 in a low gear, I can keep up with a ride leader on a 1200GS on a "progressive" ride on the Tiger 900 in 5th & 6th gear only on the twisties but on my Street triple RS my reaction times were too slow to keep up when the GS pulls like a train in any gear. The top gear roll on of the Tiger 900 is impressive and that V twin iple character of the engine is adictive, try giving it some beans in fith gear up to 8000 rpm and quick shift into 6th don't look at the speedo though cos it will be doing around 115 mph with 2500 rpm in the bag.

@@marcinkalicinski3433 Yep, my Street Triple is 810mm as well so with boots on I can get both feet down, just not firmly flat. Will be lowering it down to 780mm soon for some extra security when stopped on a slope/camber.

@@NefariouzThat's good idea. I did that with my Honda NC700S. Now it is lower, safier and the seat is made from better materials - 3D gel inside (much, much more comfortable) and my butt stops to travel forward-backward on the seat :) - the original artificial leather was awful. I asked about lowering the seat and they told me that the Triumph Tiger original heated seat can be lowered only 2 cm (790 mm). I think it will not be enough for me as the seat in the Tiger is rather wide.

Those sheep, were any of them wearing masks? Nice video. Your voice sounds like the riding on eggshells' girl, are you one & the same perchance? Thanks from canada.

Mike off roading ✊🏻, road after that with stream down side, did that in July but in car on way back from Scarborough thought it wasn’t bad scenery and challenge wise 👍🏻

Prediction: Few things will date a bike more than the present day TFT tablet “instrument cluster” - it’s the mullet of motorcycle design.

you ride very fast on the small lanes. I ride much slower to take in the scenery rather than just race past everything.
