I'm not saying whether I think it is or isn't insensitive to predict celebrity deaths like this- I'm aut-spec, so I have absolutely no sense of that anyway- but I will say that it's somewhat common for stuff like this to happen. Like,, news media will literally write obituaries for celebrities years in advance with basically just blanks to fill in so they can profit off the death as fast as possible. I'm not saying it's ok or not creepy, but more just saying that the celebrities and their families probably knew that their deaths would be used in this kind of way, so it's not as... unsettling(?) disturbing(?) as it could be, I guess? The only thing that I find odd is how did they know certain celebrities would pass in 2020? Like Kobe Bryant was a terrible accident, no indication that he would pass in 2020. The only thing I can think of is they originally had 100's of videos with different celebrities and just marked any celebrity that didn't pass as a private video and trimmed the rest.

Yeah the creepy thing about it is that people like Kobe had years to live. It would’ve just been more efficient to make hundreds of videos about his death, but at a reasonable time like when he’s 70. For them to have done so many celebrities, with YEARS of possible death dates, it would total up to hundreds of hours of film. They just wouldn’t be making their deaths out to be in one year, they would make it out to be several. And knowing that Kobe was young, it’s very probable that they had death dates up to 2040. Even so, that’s just one person. Just that one person would have that many death dates, so imagine how much more videos that they have for other people. It’s so crazy that it’s gotta be an obsession. No way this dude is just doing this casually. It would have to be a full time thing, like something you’re hard core dedicated to. The creepy thing is that all this guy must do is write down hundreds of dates for hundreds of celebrities _all day long_ , just to be able to do the illusion.

He just uploads PRIVATE 30-36 minutes ( 5 seconds * 365 days or 6 * 365 / 60 minutes ) long videos in which the dates of every day of the year is shown for different celebs, and when said celebrity dies, he cuts the video and unprivates it. Easy-peasy.

It's even simpler than stated at 4:06. You don't actually need a 30+ minute video for each day of the year. You only need 1 minute and 28 seconds for the original video. Here's why: At the start of the video you have it blink through the months. All the way from Jan till Dec. That's 12 blinks. After that you add each possible day of the month, so 01 through 31. Finally you just add 2020 as a final blink. That brings the total to 12+31+1=44 blinks. With 2 seconds per blink the entire original video only needs to be 88 seconds. To get the final 6 second video you just cut out the 11 months and the 30 days you don't need. Leaving you with 1 month, 1 day, and 1 year, for a spooky video of 6 seconds long.

You didn't need to have a recording for every minute from 12:00 to 11:59, you just needed one recording for each hour, one for each tens of minutes, and one for each minute. 12+6+10 bits of tape, spliced together.
