I play these etudes all the time when I try to get my chops etc back, not well mind you. So it's a nice surprise to have a "private" lesson pop up in my subscriptions that is so relevant to me.

@Sc651 X I'm a begginer and I play these very often... one might even use the phrase "all the time", but that would be impossible - for me at least. I have to sleep sometimes and find it most difficult to actually play these studies while simultaneously eating and/or consuming liquids... I suppose I could arrange for a nutritionally complete intravenous drip to make it possible to play these studies even more often.

Congratulations, Luke!! Keep playing and you'll master the art. My advice: If passage is hard, then don't play it so hard. Find the way to let it be easy.

This is the first one that seems genuinely challenging but i don’t play trumpet. Any trumpet players out there who can give input on difficulty/technique involved?
@cya40093 жыл бұрын
This one definitely has its challenges when trying to increase the tempo, especially with the five sharp section. Practicing this *slow* is extremely useful to nail the slurs and staccatos

anybody have tips on which notes change in different key signatures i can work my flat through flats but im completely lost in sharps
@thericegamer01473 жыл бұрын
Flat key signatures always go in order BEADGCF. Sharp key signatures always go in order FCGDAEB
@consicedisc69613 жыл бұрын
@@thericegamer0147 so say im playing and the notes affected are b and e in the flats right, does it change only those two notes in the music or every octave of those notes too or is everything else moved in half steps? it confuses me
@thomassicard37332 жыл бұрын
Key signatures apply to all of the notes within their respective assignment - every note in every measure - UNLESS there is an ACCIDENTAL (in which case, the accidental applies to that particular note from its notation point in a measure - unless the note is again changed by another accidental [which may even change the note back to the assigned key signature] - and if the altered by accidental note is tied into the next measure, it stays altered across the tie). And some other details, blah, blah... ;-)

@consicedisc I am currently doing the region process for these etudes as well and have been practicing them since July, and only recently maxed the tempo, and fit all the notes in at the recommended speeds, dont stress about it, these etudes are substantially more difficult that others have been the past few years.
