I bought a 2021 Chevy Silverado Custom with the 2.7L engine back in June of last year it’s the Cherry Red Tintcoat and I must say I’m very impressed with the engineering behind this engine. With the way everything is nowadays especially with technology advancing I wouldn’t be surprised if they do away with the V8 I know Toyota did away with it for the 2022 Tundra. When I took my truck for a test drive I was like holy shit when I hit the gas I have about 10500 miles on it and I absolutely love it. It will be a year old in June of this year

Love the grey congrats on the new truck This may ease your engine concerns. I bought the 2.7 gen 1 in 2019. It felt like a huge risk, but the dealer couldn’t move it and I got a crazy good deal on a gmc sle. 40k miles so far, not a single issue yet. The dealership now asks me tons of questions about my experience, and said they have heard really good reports on reliability from other owners. I don’t tow much, but I have hauled at max capacity multiple times with zero issues. Enjoy your new truck!

The 2022 2.7 turbo was redesigned and now has 430 ft lbs of torque! This truck in the video has considerably less torque

Love the grey. Thinking about ordering a regular cab short bed, but I was a little leery on the 2.7 I4. Sounds like it isn’t bed though!

I just bought one 2 weeks ago and I see your average fuel mileage is 16mpg the same as mine . I am hoping it will improve

Mine has been better. I do a lot of stop and go. Lately I've been averaging 18+ and obviously better on the highyway

I’ve had mine since June, it started out at 16 mpg. With reg. Unleaded fuel. With non-ethanol I’m getting 19+ daily in town driving. I also got used to using the start-stop feature.

Here in SoCal, the custom is very common. Out of the Big 3 trucks, the silverado is now the most common since covid. Before, it was the F150. My guess are the crazy mark ups Ford dealers have and Chevys seems to offer actual rebates. Now, I do like the custom exterior and the interior would of been perfect if it had captain seats. I just don't like bench seats to the lost of fron space, which is one of the reason why i like full size.
@AdamzGarage2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, on the east coast the mark ups are out of control, I was lucky to get the small rebate I got. Right now your considered lucky if you can find a new truck at full sticker. Most places are + $4000. Market correction. 👎

I was considering buying one of these but the fuel mileage is not what I was expecting. The price is around the price of a Colorado with more options. I don't need a full size pickup so I will probably get another Colorado before they kibosch the 3.6 V6
@AdamzGarage2 жыл бұрын
Good decision. All in all not a bad truck. Now that I've been drivin it for a month my opinion is, good, nice looking truck for the $. Not thrilled with the 4 cylinder overall. But it does have quite a bit of pick up power when needed. I would have expected better gas mileage as a whole. Daily city driving I'm averaging about 17mpg. We took a 300 mile round trip the other day, I averaged 22mpg highway . Not horrible but I was getting that in my V6 Ram. Good luck with your purchase.
@sodbuster518able2 жыл бұрын
Your best fuel mileage is cruise 55 to 60 ,start running 70 mph and higher you mpg will suffer lower.do your self a favor reset trip 1 on every tank fill-up use trip2 for a daily Trip or big road trip you will then learn the sweet spot for best mpg

My only complaint is poorly lit interior done light up front.I don't like this new 29 to 30 psi oil pressure crap at highway rpm or any normal driving speed ,but yet at cold startup you get 90 psi for 5 min then drops like a rock to 30.Give me back my normal 40 psi oil pressure like most engine s run at.

Good video, I wish I would have watched it BEFORE I went to the dealer. 😂😕... Car dealers arrghh. So I've had the V8 for 8 years and love that power. I'll go back tomorrow and give it a test ride. Thanks 👍

Now that you’ve had it awhile. How’s it doing? Since you have previously pulled a travel trailer, would you pull one with this vehicle? If so, what would you recommend the max size to be? We do not live in the mountains, nor do we plan on pulling our camper in mountains.
@AdamzGarage2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I've definitely gotten used to it. It does have some pretty good torque. I haven't had an opportunity to pull anything yet but I think it would pull a travel trailer without a problem. Like you said as long as your not pulling over mountains. The 2022 model increased the torque to 420. My 2021 is 348 ft. Lbs . The 348 feels good. The horse power remained the same .

How is the truck ? Still happy? I have 2010 Nissan Titan v8 5.6 and gas is killing me , I am thinking in trade my Nissan dawn payment for the 4 cylinder 1500 Chevrolet
@AdamzGarage2 жыл бұрын
I'm liking it. In all honesty it took awhile to get used to it. Especially when you come from an 8 cylinder. The power is there, just the feel of it is different. I don't even think of it now. But if your local dealership has one , I definitely recommend a test drive in the city and highway.
