Matt, the drills are great, but if you notice very few players bring the ball to the middle. Most are breaking hands over the hip and throwing from all different slots. That may work on rolled balls but when a hitter lines a ball and the fielder needs to rush the throw it likely will be off target.

Is there a reason you work on fielding the ball first rather than bringing the ball to the middle and throwing? I always teach backward from the throw back to fielding to ready position. Is this incorrect?

@@AntonelliBaseball What I mean is to teach in reverse order of what happens on the field. Example - Work on hands drills first v. throws to 1B which is the last thing you do.
