He likes pure sport bikes and they're fun on race tracks and curvy roads, but this is designed for riding on the roads most people ride very day. I went from an MV F3 to a Ducati Supersport and am happy with that decision - pure sport bikes are too narrowly focused for everyday rides.
@jetninjamonkey4 жыл бұрын
The supersport is an excellent bike, more inspiring to me than this rs660. The SS has a proven engine with a more desirable configuration with more horsepower, more torque and a nimble chassis. The SS would benefit from a TFT display though.

How was the MV F3 on back country roads or light sport touring? Also, I prefer an upright riding position for scanning traffic hazards and overall visibility, but I don't know if this is what you meant by "narrowly focused".

@@desimc89 When I lived in North Carolina with access to smooth, curvy mountain roads the MV was a delight to ride, but when I moved back to SE Michigan it was totally unsuited to the terrain. This is the first honest review of this bike I've seen. Honestly amazed, hats off. Every other review leads the viewer to believe this is the best machine ever made and Aprilia is changing everything. Reeks of payoffs. I might actually consider buying this bike since I know how it ACTUALLY rides now. It sounds like a beefed up R3 with a lot more electronics on offer. The R3 is great for getting around town, but very slow. I love my CBR600RR, it's quite comfortable as well, but this bike looks pretty nice for times with high volumes of traffic.
@HormigaZ4 жыл бұрын
it's almost as good as the CBR6000RR for when you want to grab it by the neck, with a different taste to it (lower reving engine and more down low power as opposed to high revving) but quite a lot better for commuting. Sure, it's not a track beast if that's what you are looking for I'd recommend the MV Agusta F3 instead.

Loving all these street oriented sport bikes! I think manufacturers are starting to understand again that people ride these daily and sometimes/most the time never see track days. Honestly if the delay hadn't happened, I probably would of gotten one of these. I ended up going with a Ducati Supersport S but I do think the RS660 is probably a better bike. The SSS is very viby and the mirrors are useless.
@rlsedition4 жыл бұрын
I have an SSs and agree the mirrors are useless, but I'd bet the vibes are about the same on this bike (which are not an issue). OBTW, both bikes look great, but Ducati is better at choosing colors and using tasteful decals (what's with the large letter decals on the Aprilia's other two colors?).

A feature like that isn't just because of how much HP or Torgue an engine produces. Also factor for example wet surfaces and losing traction there which doesn't even need 5 HP to lose traction. And how is 100 HP which calculates to a power to weight ratio of more than a Ferrari 458 not alot of power? And also saying that the engine is unable to produce tire spin beacuse of it?!
