Thanks for this great review. I just test rode one today, looks even better in the flesh; to me, one of the best looking bikes ever; as you said on the video, super smooth fuelling, chasis provides confidence, dashboard also much improved, however, I wasn't expecting to say a big BUT; that this this bike is so smooth and easy to ride, I wonder if the Euro5 compliance has driven out some of the character ? Giving the keys back didn't seem the ordeal I thought it would be and getting back on my 2019 V4 Touno, with the roar and bark of the Akra, the slightly glitchey 1st and 2nd gear and the agression and drama of the engine pull... all still on the older 2019 model, still seemed to bring an equally childlike pure joy; so I have to ask myself; is the 2021 V4 Tuono, as incredible as it is, really worth the extra full price, worth it to trade in the current God of Thunder ?

I’m 6’3” and 220lbs and want to know how the new layout will work with my frame? I have plans of taking this bike and turning it into a all around bike. Track and road with adjustable rear sets and larger front wind screen for when touring. Not interested in the standard model as I want this color scheme and Ohlins suspension. I’ve reserved this bike already and have money down on a ‘21 SF v4 S... but being in the US I’m not sure when I’ll be able to test the Aprilia. You’re thoughts would be very helpful.

David. Thanks for this. Couple of interesting points on this. There are a few nice upgrades here vs the 20. I’ve got a 20 factory. It cost 14k with akra from Via moto. You are right, they are great and Gary is spot on. I agree the smoother fuelling and larger fuel opening would be welcome, but to be fair not a biggie. Fuel gauge, again, handy but not a huge issue at all as you just use your trip. Looks wise. Subjective. But from the pictures and videos I’ve seen, I disagree hugely on looks. LEDs are welcome, but 18 quid gets a conversion on the older version, albeit not as designed looks wise but changes the look dramatically. I think it looks generic and cheap. But, again, in the flesh is key. The 20 model looks awful in photos but stunning in the flesh. To say the 20 is ugly, I think is entirely wrong to be honest. So many folk stare at mine when it’s parked up and comment on it. The seating potion is disappointing as the more super bike stance than others was the reason I, and many, went for it. A unique aspect of the bike that stood it apart from the competition, and I love it. Certainly for a single bike ownership. So, again, I disagree with you on that but of course personal preference. And the crunch ........£18,199 for 21 vs £13,99 for the 20 currently, and no akra? So 5k difference. I’m curious now to ride this to see for myself. So what I’ll do is a back to back video comparison. You do seem to love this bike....I do need to be honest, I was really surprised at how negative you were in your MY20 review. It was the opposite to almost every other reviews on it. So I wonder if there is a personal bias in your review....of the 21 model? But, yes some nice newer touches for sure on the 21 that would be nice to have. But, I’m not buying one.....well, not yet..lol. Now, watch me do a side by side comparison and then part x mine in for the 21...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@mostlymotorbikes3 жыл бұрын
Mate it’s all relative and that’s why I always say, don’t listen to me go and ride it and look at it yourself. What I want from a super naked, already owning a ‘20 RSV4 track bike and ‘21 Panigale will be different to someone maybe how just wants one bike to do it all. I get that. Give it a whirl. I loved the ‘20 model for what it is, just not what I wanted. Looks...well, look at my ugly face. Who am I to judge looks 😂😂😂

Great review. This thing just looks beautiful now. Lovely paint scheme as well although Aprilia should offer at least 2 colour schemes on it. It seems like they have done what was needed to keep it at the top of the hyper naked class. One thing I will say is the Tuono makes more low and mid range torque than the Streetfighter V4 which should make it a better road bike. It will be interesting to see how this bike compares to the all new Triumph 1200 Speed Triple. That bike could be the Tuono's biggest rival looking at the spec. Take care mate and ride safe.
@mostlymotorbikes3 жыл бұрын

Had a 16 and 17 TV4, and will hopefully get a 21 or 22, but at no point in time did I ever miss having a fuel gauge. I currently have two bikes that have fuel gauges, and numerous others that have had as well. Every single one of them was inaccurate because of the shape of the tank and the position of the float. 85 miles into your fuel tank and it's still showing you have a full tank, five miles later it's now showing you have half a tank. So unless this thing is as accurate as a fuel gauge on a car I don't see what all the hubbub is about. Especially considering that it has a low fuel light. All you really need to know is how many miles you have left once the light comes on, after having reset your trip meter at every fill-up.

The best bike I've ever ridden and not by a small margin, by miles. Chopped in my Monster 1200S the next weekend for a 2018 Tuono Factory with the map, Akra and all the good stuff. Comfortable, looks great, easy to ride and completely bonkers! What more could you want?

I am on the fence swapping my 2015 Monster 1200s for the v4 Factory. Is it worth sacrificing the monster for this? Are you still satified with the Tuono? I am ready to pull the trigger and need the extra push. Thank you.

Really tough one that mate. Tbh the Tuono is a better bike however I bought a Panigale recently when again, it’s not the best bike out there. Reason, it made me smile more and drool after it. It’s all personal preference and you wouldn’t be disappointed with either. Sorry that’s vague but it’s the best I can say.

Hi Mostly Motorbikes, I like your reviews. I am on a CBR650F now, planning to upgrade to a 1000cc. I can only have 1 bike for all, for my weekend, road, twisties and track. Decided an Aprilia V4, should I get the Tuono or RSV4? Are both difficult to ride? How does RSV4 low end torque compared to Tuono? Thanks
@mostlymotorbikes3 жыл бұрын
They are both awesome. Tuono “feels” slightly faster lower down on the road due to shorter gearing than the RSV4 but on track the RSV4 would be a far better option. Ride them both and buy what makes you smile 😊
@iang27f3 жыл бұрын
So, for me it’s a choice of this Tuono V4 Factory or the latest Streetfighter V4. Is one better than the other for the same price ? Tuono has electronic suspension, less power. Is the Ducati actually quicker or not much in it. Residuals, I would imagine Ducati would be better. Comfort, brakes, fuel range, what’s best. Decisions, decisions !

Here is the description from latest tuono accessories catalog, it doesn't say it's only for RR so it looks like panniers fit both models : 'SIDE BAG SUPPORTS - LEFT 2S001719 RIGHT 2S001782 These supports allow to increase the loading capability of your Tuono 1100, enhancing the road spirit of the ride and improving the sport touring experience of the powerfull V4 engine. Sold separately. Left and right support have different shape and allow the mount of specific side bag on each side. Final customers will love to add the side bags, to enjoy Aprilia Tuono for a full weekend or holiday week of fun and ride. The right bag is fixed instead the left one as a click fix system and is easily removable. Immages as reference of the product SIDE BAGS - LEFT 2S001624 RIGHT 2S001764'
