After riding 2-wheeled motorbikes for 60 years, I am now the most content owner of a 2023 F3S. People are constantly asking me, “what it’s like to ride?” and I tell them that if a motorcycle & a Maserati had a baby=this would be it❗️ It’s not Lamborghini level performance-but that’s not its intended purpose…it’s what I call a “Tarmac Trike” with ALL the incredible benefits you so eloquently described in your video. Thanks👍

I too have just moved to a canam from motorcycles after 40 years of riding, I hope to never have to totally give up riding (for the most part, I still ride a tad with the cb1300s) I have quite bad arthritis so an auto 3 wheeler is nice. and a hell of a lot of fun.

Brilliant minds and all that!!! I bought the RT Ltd and it's a different animal. Primary because it's 200 plus pounds heavier, closer to 300, and the operator position is; riding on rather than riding in. The seat height is 3 inches higher on the RT and that makes a huge difference in the turns and twisties. It took me 5-6000 miles to become one with the machine...this after decades of on and off hooligan two-wheeling. A couple of MC guys were rough talk'n it and asked me why I's stupe so low as to ride such a POS. My response was it took me 5-6000 miles to dial it on so a spectator or test driver won't ever get to know what it actually is. Further, I made the analogy, "it's like this; a Hayabusa and a Daymak C-5 played spin the bottle...my Spyder is the result of that encounter. You ride a motorcycle I drive a SportKart".

Excellent review. The reasons you gave for enjoying the Spyder are solid, sound, and practical. Many times you often hear two-wheel riders who test ride a Spyder complain that it does not ride like a motorcycle. Wish they had your video to consult.
@Bananimal653 жыл бұрын
And that's it in a nutshell. It'll never ride like a motorbike, but that does not necessarily mean that it isn't fun and that it can't hold it's own in the corners. If I would have known how fun these were back in 2015 I would have bought one then. Are they perfect? No. Nothing is. But to those who underestimate its capabilities because it has three wheels all I can say is, who's riding it and do they know how to? MartinTheVlogger has a few clips of his Spyder tailgating a sport bike in the corners. Problem with a motorbike is.......you can only lean so far and your contact with the road surface is about the size of a quarter for each tire. Not the case on the Spyder. Yes it weighs more, but it also has more grip. On the ride I speak to in this video, my buddies were in full lean behind me. And that was only the second time I took the Spyder out. I was nowhere near as used to it as I am now. I wanted to ride this past Sunday. Told them I need some sport bike victims for my F3 moto-vlog. They declined and said they were busy. I've been around long enough to know that BMW guys can never take a beating very well. LOL! Especially on something that is perceived by many that ride two wheels as a sissy bike. I got your sissy right here......LOL! Just sayin'.

When I first moved to GA I had a Porsche 930 and two Kawasaki's in the garage. One of the faster riders on one of the forums out there made the comment how he roasted a Ferrari in the mountains and that sports cars were no match for a bike. I begged to differ and all the testosterone laden riders jumped in the thread trying to get me to prove it. Well, after the riders on the forum got to know me, and about two years later, my buddy calls me and asked me if I was riding on Sunday, I replied yes. When I showed up in the 930, he grinned and said, "You didn't say you were bringing this." I led 14 sport bikes up 129 to Blood Mountain that day. Not one of them had the nerve to pass me. I stayed in my lane and they were cutting both lanes to keep up. Yes, there are a few really, really fast guys that could have made the pass, but most sane riders wouldn't dare risk it. I view this Spyder the same way. It weighs about 1/3 the weight of a 930 and has 1/3 the horsepower. Pretty equal footing if you ask me. They Spyder carries it's weight much lower though. The only consideration is the Spyder's lack of a second rear wheel which may diminish some traction. I'm still trying to find that limit.
@Bananimal653 жыл бұрын
I'm going to leave this right here........The only reason the bike was able to stay up front is that he kept putting a car between the Spyder and himself. Obviously it is much easier to pass on roads like this on a bike for sure. However, you can certainly see that the F3-S is on point in the corners. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6uTlIiQmq56n6s

Excellent video. Your and my mindset is virtually the same regarding riding the CanAm. I am approaching 70 in age (but my mind at times still thinks I'm 20 years younger) and I am strongly considering going the route you have chosen. I've ridden the Spyders and the Rykers and had the experience of being different from a "bike". It's just a different feel but awesome in its own right. Glad I stumbled across this video. My F3 is new and I’ve ridden it only once. (Still winter in Massachusetts). My previous bike was a 2015 Harley Road Glide Special which ran on lower rpm’s. I’ve heard the Can Am shifts and rides at much higher rpm’s but I can’t find anything that tells me the appropriate rpm.it would be interesting if you show the rpm’s when you shift and when you cruise. I enjoyed your video.

Darn good video! Had to watch again. More please. LOL Cruise control: I hope it is not as unreliable as the 80's GM turn signal stalk controls. That would really stink. Belt tensioner: The few vids I have seen that failed were oem not the lamonster one. Makes sense though, don't destroy a $300 belt + labor. Stay safe!
@Bananimal653 жыл бұрын
Hi, Tim. Yeah, unfortunately it's a lot like the 80's GM turn signal stalk controls. Maybe I just got a bad one. I'll be bringing it to the dealer as soon as I get a chance to get it taken care of. The switchology on my Speed Triple cruise control is light years ahead of the Spyder. When you are on a bike, the last thing you want is to be distracted with switches that work some of the time. They need to work all of the time and immediately.

I have M2 shocks on my spyder. The handling is 2nd to none, but they don't have independent rebound compression. I would say dont get the most aggressive M2 setup and you will be fine.
