Love that grey/anthracite colour. Especially with the copper/bronze accents and badging. Styling wise for an SUV i like that it is more striking than others on the market. They all seem to have started looking samey. Great job on the video and review tish 🙌🏻

As always, great video, Tish! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Cupra should be sold in the US, and I think the Formentor would do very well here, especially in the 5 cylinder VZ5 trim level. Digital climate controls should be a crime; it’s the dumbest fad in the auto industry right now in my opinion. Hopefully I’ll get to try out a Cupra brand product one day! P.S. - the Defender at the 8:00 mark!

Great review. Shame that nobody seems to do a genuine soundclip of the Cupra hybrids from both outside and inside - havent had the chance to drive one yet, and the people chosing Cupras like the Formentor are probably going to be dads or moms with a love for the aggressive look and some music from the engine - at the same time, being able to go electric will help persuade the wife/ husband :D ..

I will be honest, I followed my friend in the 300bhp car and that sounds ALOT better than the hybrid. The hybrid, even when in sport didn't produce the best sound!

Very nice video, Tish! I love this car, but I'm not quite sure which version to buy. I do about 20.000 miles a year and want to keep running costs low. So probably one of the PHEVs or even a diesel? Do you think a Formentor diesel would be ok or an absolute no no? Thanks.

They don’t sell a Formentor diesel. Only a 1.5 TSI with 150 horsepower, a 1.4 PHEV with 245 horsepower (shown in this video), a 2.0 litre TSI with 190 or 310 horsepower (shown in the previous video) or a 2.5 litre 5-cylinder with 400 horsepower.

@@DaveDVideoMaker Don't be so sure sir! Where I come from they sell all the versions you mentioned plus a PHEV with 204 HP, a 2.0 TSI with 245 HP and a 2.0 TDI with 150 HP, either with a manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG combined with 4WD.

I would still 100% say that as a 20K a year driver a Diesel would be the best option at keeping running costs low! If there is a Diesel Formentor I can imagine it is very good as VAG group always made great Diesel cars!

Looks like the car for me as my diesel insignia is retiring next year - however in the republic this model is €56k even before leather seats are added 😭 still it’s this or the new born , the look is striking

The Cupra Formentor hybrid goes in uncool. Most hybrids go in uncool, with some exceptions. Even cars with fake exhausts go in uncool, including the Audi S6. The worst culprit for fake exhausts is the VW Group, no denying it.

Manufacturers will not be allowed to make new hybrids from 2035, so these will be gone 5 years after conventional internal combustion engine cars.

Hi Robert, I think there might still be the very few hybrids being built but probably not many. Suzuki no doubt!! Who knows how things will pan out. Fully electric still seems impossible right now.

There are only 2 valid engine options for a Cupra - 2.0 petrol or 2.5 petrol.
