There are a lot of trims for the 2021 Ford Bronco. One of the best that combines tech with an old school feel is the 2021 Ford Bronco Big Bend. This is equipped with the 2.3L 4cyl, 4 wheel drive and a 10 speed auto. I really really love the Bronco!

I think the coolest thing about these Broncos is the huge *range* of customization you can get straight from the factory. This Big Bend is a great platform to add aftermarket stuff to, so you can customize it over time -- but you can also spend more up front and get more capabilities from the factory. The fact that Ford gives you the choice is what makes the Bronco so great! I went with the Outer Banks trim in Eruption Green with the Lux package (gotta have that adaptive cruise-control, and there's no other way to get it). And I got the Sasquatch package also, because off road. I can't wait until it gets here! Although with the Sasquatch and Lux packages both a part of my order, I wonder how long it will be. LOL.

Also, if the Escape is an option for you then just get the Bronco Sport, it’s made on the same platform but has much more performance options. My wife will be upgrading from her Escape to a Bronco Sport when it’s time to trade in her Escape.

How long have you had your Bronco for. I got mine a month ago and is a 2022 Black Big Bend 2.3 L. with hardtop and rails.

So i'm not a jeep owner, never had one, but I do like them. I've never owned a bronco, but I do like the look of the new one. My question is: Would you recommend this as a first suv? My last 4 car/trucks have been SUV but I wanted to get either the base or Big Bend for my son. The only addition I wanted to add (initially) would be step assistance for us shorter people. Everything else, my son would add himself. Any advice would be helpful. I plan on buying in June/July in Houston. We don't want or need vinyl or leather seats (they get too hot in the Texas heat, we don't need lift kits right now bc we don't go off roading...just getting this because it looks good and sits high up)

Awesome first SUV especially if you're into the convertible feel! I loved my Wrangler, but wish it was better on road and this Bronco does just that. I gave up my Wrangler for a Grand Cherokee and want to go back to something more "rugged". I like your thoughts on the trims as well. The base or big bend are excellent and if you're going to make modifications might as well save a little up front to spend later. Drive one and see how you like it soon and I am sure you'll love it :)

That's the trim most people will want. Best on the road where they are most of the time, and the offroading 97% of buyers do won't require lockers or a disconnecting sta bar, none of that shit. The higher trims are way over built for most people, and as such a waste of money

Big Bend is the cheapest trim with rear locker (although you have to specify it). However, if you want the steel bumper, skid plates, and rock rails from the accessories catalog, you're up to the cost of a Black Diamond, so at that point it comes down to whether you prefer cloth or vinyl seats. If you want thicker skid plates and frame-mounted rock rails, Big Bend is a better bet than Black Diamond - why pay for parts you're just gonna remove? If you regard the camera system as a critical bit of off-road tech, or if you want the manual transmission with mid package or higher, you're forced into Badlands. Of course, if heated seats are the selling point for the $1500 mid package, you could just get heated seat covers from Wal-Mart. Personally, I've ordered Manual Badlands with High package, for the cameras, and since they forced me to 2022, I added Sasquatch...which may well be the reason I don't have a date yet, alas.

I just found your channel and sub’d. Like your take on this option, as nearly everyone spends 97+% on urban/suburban/country roads (this will do fine on gravel, decent dirt roads) and is much safer and better performing in the rain or wet. Like the wheels. Love the color-what is it? But lack of a cd player is disappointing-music on a cd is yours forever and not dependent on a quirky download service that can take it away from your phone. I get it that the manufacturers think the future and present now is digital downloading and SiriusXM. And the offering of hard plastic interiors in $35,000 and up vehicles is pathetic. Maybe that will change in the future. Btw in states run by leftist lunatics like Cali, in a few years no new gasoline powered vehicles can be offered for sale, so get yours soon.

It's certainly not F-150 based, it's based off the Ranger. The Big Bend is a sad trim level, it's the easiest to get, but perhaps the least value of all the trims for a number of reasons. You are limited to nothing better than the mid-package (which you can't get with the manual transmission). The specific Bronco you reviewed didn't even have a tow hitch, didn't have a rear locker, and had very few desired features. If you want an SUV, there are better choices, and if you want an off-road capable vehicle, a Bronco with no lockers is a poor choice. The one redeeming factor on this particular Bronco was that it had the mid-package at least. You really have to wonder why bother with auxiliary switches when it's clearly spec'd to not be an off-roader. Finally, if you think that 100 ft/lbs of torque is not a significant difference, it certainly is, the V6 makes only a little more peak HP, but the Torque difference is huge.

These are very good points I will agree! I appreciate the thoughts. To clarify I say this is the trim most people need because let's face it the majority of Jeep/Broncos will not see the wilderness or rough terrain. My comment about the short wheelbase F150 was saying this is more a throwback to the original Bronco roots not like a crossover SUV we get nowadays. I can't argue with the 100 tq difference. I will say the 4cyl is just fine though. You'd absolutely miss the tq if you are towing! Thanks again!

Actually the big bend is very capable off road as well as the base model all you have to do is put 285/70r17's on it they actually took the big bend off roading in the bronco show and it handled all the obstacles perfect with the all seasons that came on it it just lacked some of the skid plates but its all optional the upgraded bumper with the skid plates and the optional upgradable rear locker but they did say for extreme rock crawling the sasquatch upgrade is recommended but let's be real about 95% of Wrangler owners 4runner owners aren't off roading my niece owns a 2020 Rubicon fully loaded and it's never been off road and she has zero plans to ever take it off road she just said she likes the big wheels and sky one touch roof all the tech crap you really don't need all that crap it's good to show off though to coworkers while you're chilling in the parking lot

@@oscarapple1365 Why? It's the least desirable in nearly every way and offers the least flexibility (with the possible exception of the Base). You can't even get the mid package with the manual. Don't get me wrong, having a Bronco at this point is better than not having a Bronco, but the Big Bend offers little to set it apart from the Base or Black Diamond, and is extremely limited in every other way. The OBX mid-package is a better value if you want the automatic and the Base Manual offers a better value if you want the manual. In reality, Ford made too many trims. The Base, Black Diamond, and the Badlands could have all been done under one trim (Badlands). The Big Bend, Outer Banks, and the WildTrak could also have been under one trim (OBX). Ford really screwed it up by making the interior locked to the trim.
