True, but it's not only that. We can all learn the core concepts of his logic and apply to our fields of work or pretty much anywhere in life. These are simple truths: 1) always look into the essence of things, don't dwell too much into the details without knowing the real purpose of what it's all about; 2) Always consider cost vs benefit; 3) Don't half-ass things, always go for the best result possible, don't be lazy; 4) Love what you're doing.

@@eddiegardner8232 Yeah, I have no clue what @San is talking about. There are some similarities with overall suspension design, but obviously a lot is different. I did find it odd that Sandy seemed to criticize the ID.4 for using McPherson struts which Sandy said was “not a BMW quality suspension” [like the Tesla] because it used struts instead of double wishbone. I found the BMW quality part to be funny because the best handling BMWs including the 2-series, 3-series, 4-series as well as the X3, M3/M4, Z4, i3, i4, etc. all use front struts. Only 5-series and up sized BMWs use double wishbones up front. Struts are cheaper to fix and have fewer parts. For a car like an ID.4, struts are perfectly fine. I do think Sandy has a soft spot for the Mach-E because he’s from Detroit, he worked for Ford, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he personally knows people that worked on designing this product. He had a lot of critical things to say about ID.4 even claiming some of the lower control arms on the rear were shaped like they were because mistakes had been made, almost implying they had to retrofit some forgotten component.

I just watched a ride along on the GT version of the MachE. It uses magnetorheological shock absorbers, of the type developed at GM to provide millisecond speed changes in damper rates. Supposedly starting at around $60K MSRP, with comparable acceleration to the Model Y performance. I will definitely be checking one of those out when they are released for production in the Fall.

I wish Sandy would explain a little more of what he's seeing, not just what it is but the potential why behind it. The fasteners for example - why are they desirable besides being "new"? He geeks out over a McPherson front end in the Ford, but the ID.4 has a McPherson front end too, and Sandy seemed bewildered by it in the ID.4 video. Maybe the VW's innovations are in places Sandy doesn't care about or couldn't see. I wish he'd dug in more on the first global EV from the world's biggest automaker.

Just raised my Ford viability rating to flourish, I was so impressed with the model T engineering and design and now the Mach E, looks like Ford are doing it again, good on you I hope Ford has found its MoJo, its how its done without going cap in hand to the government for bail outs, respect to Ford.

Quick means torque, trains have been using electric motors for many decades, we’re just now getting to experience electric torque, thanks for the good info Sandy keep it coming.

"This doesn't look like a Ford underneath"... I suspected that all along when they made the "Mustang" into a 4 door sedan. It felt like they were taking someone else's skateboard and branding it a Mustang.

I like this video - I was wondering why the half drive axel's in my Mach-E look rusty, but I see the one's in this video look the same way. Is it a coating? Thank you.

Excited about MacPherson strut suspension? El cheapo suspension used in cheap cars. Double wishbone would have been something to get excited about.

With all that flat bottom , would that create lift? Or is it actually better for aerodynamics
