Tire chains (as in snow chains) would have helped a lot here on this hill. Looks like it was pretty hard to carry any speed up that hill too. I hit a similar hill (but real muddy) towing my son's 96 reg cab K2500 6.5 diesel (broke a starter bolt and stripped the flywheel) with my 97 K3500 crew cab dually longbed 4x4 6.5 diesel I got about halfway up, like you did. Having mud tires with 1/3 tread didn't help me much. So we unhooked the chain and I backed his (coasting) down the hill and then tried to make it up on my own. Nada. Oddly my daughter in her stupid dodge caravan actually made it up that hill, shaming us all. But she got a lot faster run at it than we did too. Hill we were going up was around a 45 degree angle or better, about a mile long. We did ok even in the mud until we hit a shady spot..then it turned into snot. With chains I would have made it, I think. Not a lack of power, but traction.

Beautiful scenery. I've never been on hills that steep with any of my 4x4's but I live in the south. It's impressive especially for a heavy 3/4 ton truck. Thanks.

Have you had any issues with water stuck in the hood after a rain or driving through the rain? Noticing it when you lift the hood the next day?

Might be a rough riding truck, but I like it’s almost 4k pounds of payload in a 3/4 ton, unless it has the 10,000 GVWR package
