I had a 2011 Yamaha Rhino 700 several years ago. It did fine out on trails but for utility purposes it wasn't great if you were trying to do chores around the house due to the rear axle being locked all the time. I hardly used the 4WD in it, and even more rarely used the front locker...so this Honda Pioneer 520 would probably do most of everything I'd need in a UTV. I don't want a huge UTV if you want one of those you may as well buy a nice used pickup and have a nice cab and heat and AC. I got rid of the Rhino 3 years later and bought a 2WD 1987 Ford Ranger 5 speed, does everything I used the Rhino for and its street legal and gets much better fuel economy than the UTV ever could.

We have had the 2017 Pioneer 500 since it was new. The only thing we have done to it is put 27 inch tires and a winch. A huge improvement in ground clearance ( much better than the polaris rzr 800 we used to have) It's bouncy though. Like driving the CJ I had back in the day. A blast on trails as long as your not going to fast.

At 6ft 4in tall I hate sport sxs and utilities are my choice. 50 inches wide will fit in the bed of my truck, another plus. With the market so tight right now most of the machines that come in are pre-sold, and with people having them modified before they even take delivery it's a sellers market. I'll have to wait till one comes in for service to check one out. No salesman, listen to what the customer who paid a premium thinks about it, and give it a little shake down cruise out back. The Honda Pioneer is a great machine. If you have kids for the rear I will say the seats are terrible. There’s a lot going on in the back to transform from bed to seats and the seats are basically creepers you’d slide around on your garage floor with…. If you’re not planning on taking kids with you it’s fine. For a family of 4 I would highly recommend a Kawasaki Teryx 4…. very reliable machine and seating for 4 adults…. All in a short wheelbase package like the Honda…. there’s the wolverine from Yamaha as well but if back seat comfort is a requirement you won’t beat the Teryx! Once you compare prices and warranties the Teryx is even more appealing. We recently installed a bump seat in the rear and 3 kids can ride in comfort in the back now. Very nice machines

What the hell is wrong with the Canadian pricing? It's $2000 over what you would expect with the current exchange rate, may as well go buy it in USA in a state with no income tax.
@TruckKing3 жыл бұрын
The problem with Canadian pricing is that it has nothing to do with the exchange rate. All manufacturers in Canada price according "to what the market will bear". If we keep buying them at inflated prices don't be surprised that we get hosed.

@@hunt16 Don't buy into all the hype. I rode ATVs for 12 straight years and bought a new machine every year and went through unimaginable terrain getting stuck and pulling people out and everything else...winter, spring, summer and fall in western New York. I had Japanese machines mainly Yamaha and Suzuki and never once never once never once had any kind of a belt issue. Belt issues are for Polaris

I want this 50" but this is what's stopping me, the thin air in the mountains of Colorado. I guarantee you and your dad would be flipping a coin to see who is going to get out and push when the single cylinder run out of steam hauling the load at 8 thousand feet or 2400 meters, I have a feeling you would lose the coin flip every time and dad would be behind the wheel. It is a good low cost entry level 50" that could hauled in a long bed truck.

Elevation is not an issue in Ontario. However, your comment just reminds viewers that they have to view our videos with their particular geography in mind. Thanks

Steve, Please call Honda and tell them they ought to slam a 800cc parallel twin into the 2022 pioneer so no one will have to get out gasp for air trying to push this at altitude. Thanks!

I live at 8300 elevation in Colorado. No problems with power.
@WyLEE083 жыл бұрын
06XTOR Okay big dog then at what altitude do you experience an issue? The higher you go the less oxygen / less power it's a fact. A loaded SxS single cylinder is going to struggle and that is also a fact. We need Honda to make a 50" beast and that another fact.
@06XTOR3 жыл бұрын
@@WyLEE08 Haven't had any issues at any elevation here in CO. It's a utility side by side. I think he does a good job of explaining it's purpose. What are you trying to accomplish .... If you are racing then by something else big dog.
