In Australia the postie bike is surrounded by a special halo, it falls into that extra impressive category of “the bike that should not capable of doing that, but it does anyway”. It’s like the honey badger of motorbikes. Posties take them off urban jumps and beat on them daily with a load of mail strapped on the back, then after running up anywhere between 30-50,000 kms, they go to auction and some yobbo nutcase gets it, puts on some skinny knobby tyres and rides it to the arse end of Australia and back. Slowly. Can’t wait to put one in the carport with a milk crate on that rack.

I’ve been riding my whole life. Sold my bike 5 years ago. Idk but I want this bike so bad for some reason. I know it doesn’t have the power or off-road ability I would like. I just think it’s so neat

That pushing down on both ends of the shifter is done with my toes!

Maybe the extra one horse power is enough to only need 4 speed. 45 years ago the ct90 and the ct110 came with essentially a 8 speed.

It was a hi lo gearbox. Not a true 8 speed.

50yrs ago it seemed most RV owners had a Honda Trail 90 hanging on a bumper rack. Of course back then they were $300+/-. That big rack will accommodate a milk crate for hauling groceries back to the RV camp ground.

having grew up riding a trail 90 as a teenager, the defining thing on that bike was the low range. living in a heavily wooded and mountainous area, i used the low range and auto-clutch to beat my way up mountainsides and through trees where no dirt bike could follow... but... i dont see low range on this :(. kinda misses the mark for what i used to ride.

Those bike are used in Japan by the Post Office to delivery mail, even in the snow! I'm talking about the older models.

Glad this bike was compared to the TW200 from Yamaha. The Trail 125 is only 18 pounds lighter than the TW200 (surprising) and the Tw has 5 gears, better suspension (but not great), looks better with its fat tires, can carry a passenger, has a 200cc engine, is more off road and on road capable, has lots of aftermarket parts and sells for $4700 new in the US. For $3900 you could buy a nearly new TW200 here.

Honestly you can get a crf250l for not much more than a tw and have a 6 speed, fuel injection, standard sized tires with dozens of tread and compound choices, and the ability to go on the highway and somewhat keep up with traffic.

I just bought the 2022 model. I'm 5 10 and 210 lbs. And my complaints are the seat not being far back enough and the bar being under my ass. I feel like I'm right up on the handle bars. The front end is very light and twitchy. I wish it would fit me better cause I've always loved the look. Trying hard to be smaller which I think it's better suited for. As far as the power of it no problem even for me. Just saying.

Thank you for your feedback. I am bigger than you. My dad always said the seat on the Trail 90 hurt his back. He preferred to ride a CT70.

I had a Cub 70 in the 1970s. It was a hoot.

My wife has a "big ole rack". I had a Honda back in the 1970's but it was 90cc. Great bike.

Thank you! Brings back memories of the 80s in cottage-land, riding my CT70 and seeing plenty of CT110s. Perfect bikes for the purpose. And yes, I still have that CT70. My other bike Yamaha TW200. Mini "Cub" Trail, Cub Trails, Trail Sport and the Yamaha Trail Way. There is something about "Trail" in there that seems to work for me. :D

A great bit of nostalgia for anyone who remembers the trail 90. I would pick one up if i had the extra money.

Looks like the old 90 back when I was a kid you could drive them anywhere but they had duel transmission.

Man I saw this and I was on my way out the door to the dealership until I realized it didn’t have the ct110’s headline feature, the dual range sub transmission. Now I don’t really see the point of it.

I cant tell if this bike is just for looks or if it can actually be used off road. That snorkel and high exhausts seem like a interesting detail.

Judging from the jumps he was doing in the video, as long as you don't do anything to crazy, I'm sure it will work well for about 80% of what normal people would be trying to do.
