Yeah you still happy with it??? Because I was too until the first year anniversary when the engine completely died…that was a year ago and they kept it for two months at the dealership with no rental car remimbursment…we went thousands of dollars into debt only to have the check engine light go off again less than a year later..

Bought mine brand new for 28,500. I absolutely love it. Drive it in sport manual all the time and average 32 mpg. She handles the hills and pot holes of west Virginia quite well. Looking forward to the 2024

Thank you for pointing out that you can take it camping. I have a Tucson with the same engine and 7DCT, ive taken it on pretty rough roads and with some momentum those crossovers can be very capable!

I have a 2021 Kona Limited which I'm enjoying very much. Lot's of nice features. What's weird is that nobody ever mentions the car's cornering lights, in their videos. I found out about them the hard way. I was parked and trying out all the different headlight, fog light, and running light settings, when I noticed this left light to the inside of the left headlight beam was on, but the right side one was not. But this light wasn't on all the time, so I took it back to the dealer thinking there was a problem, the service guy and his tech told me it was just a reflector, that there was no light there. I was pretty sure there was, but they're supposed to know their cars better than me, so I left. Turns out that when you turn the wheel to the left or right, the light comes on to reflect to the side of the road in the direction you're turning, also the fog lights turn off briefly when cornering, mostly on sharper curves . I took a picture of this light being on when the wheel is turned, took it to the service guy and told him that he and his service tech need to brush up on the lighting features of this car. Sheesh.

I love the Kona since I test drove one. Since then I tried to but it 4 times(!). But my bad credit didn't allow it. Now I'm on the hunt for a 2010-12 Ford Escape Limited with navigation package. That makes me almost as happy as the Kona. Love the tightness of the Kona in corners.

Some reviewers were complaining about the extreme hesitation of the transmission due to being a DCT. Did you experience that when you were driving the car? Like jerking and almost stalling?

It can hesitate in traffic occasionally when it's short shifting back and forth from 1st and 2nd gears but is by no means extreme or to the point of stalling or annoying to me. Hit the gas and it will scoot.

I only like the Kona with black paint. See the April 2020 edition of Consumer Reports magazine- the Kona is on the list of vehicles with the highest owner satisfaction. The port fuel injection should keep the intake valves cleaner as it gets higher miles of use.

Port fuel injection is only on the 2.0L, not the 1.6L DIT (Direct Injection Turbo) as shown in this video.

@@EARTHSOUL_Asm 2013 base. It feels nice and easy to control. Little road noise. The hatch seems a bit small, but it opens up more than the Veloster when you fold the seats down. I got the 1.6 turbo and it has some good acceleration. And I drove it during Texas's freeze and was able to steer it back when I went into an 80mph slide on the highway without much effort.

I wonder why that freeze was impactful ….🤔 It doesn’t sound like it was that bad if folks could do 80…🙄 Here’s a tip, when it’s slick out you can still accelerate even on glare ice, it’s not the getting up to speed that’s a problem…it’s the stopping. Slow down Good grief

Love our 2020 but its been in the shop at least 6 times for the check engine light. Only has 23,000 miles every time its mutiple cylinder miss fires and very rough idle at start up. The coils and the plugs have been changed by the dealer and still the check engine light comes on all the time.

@@adoreslaurel We have roundabouts here in Quebec, and some but not many in Ontario. I learned to drive in Ontario and never during one driving lesson learned about roundabouts. All I know to do is safely enter when a car isn’t coming towards me hahah, so it’s possible that’s why we drive the way we do in roundabouts because we never actually learn how to drive properly through one! But at a 4 way intersection with lights, we do turn right on a red light so long as you stop first before taking the turn, and there isn’t a sign telling you that at the specific intersection you are not allowed!

32000 is suppose to be a "a great bang for your buck"? okay... whatever us say. I do own a Kona but just the SE.... spending that much for this type of car is just excessive. It's a nice car but not for over 22k at best. Also, as a mechanic, the first thing I did was install an "oil capture can" for these MPI but especiall the GDI engines. A good design by nature but the back flow from these engines go right back into the intake manifold and after some time, can cause you to do a complete valve intake cleaning. Hyundai Service dept. will deny this but just go ahead and check the forums on the class action suits against Hyundai just for this reason. I still purchased the car aware of this because it is a reliable car, as long as you do this one thing. Still, a design for the life of me can't understand why Hyundai did except to cut costs.

This is not a Hyundai 2021 Kona. The new Kona 2021 shown in Korea have different front LED design, back LED design, the H logo is on the hood, the hood has different angles. Your review looks like 2020 Kona. Even the 2021 shown off in Korea has USB header at the back, your review does not. Also the 2021 has 10-inch infotainment screen, and much larger dash display.
